Congrats! When did you guys receive your NOA1?
Also, random question, how do you get your timeline thingy to show up on your posts and that animated timeline?
-
I've heard a lot of horror stories with lawyers. I would certainly follow up with both USCIS and the lawyer! From what I have seen everything has been about a week-two weeks for NOA1 from the date of submission. Good Luck!!

Has anyone received NOA2 from Canada who filed this year? If so, how far into the process are you?
-
I filed July 10th and received my NOA1 on July 18th. My case was transferred to the California centre.
-
Yes it has a case #! Ah, let the waiting begin I guess! Thanks
-
I just sent my package in last week and received the e-mail of acceptance. Is that considered the NOA1 or is that still to come?
-
Don't worry I didn't send skype logs or anything.
For evidence I just sent, boarding passes (the two i had), e-mail flight itineraries, pictures from each trip and 3 Long distance phone bills! I sent the bare minimum as well. I thought the less they have to go through, the less complications there will be!!

Did anyone use Canada Xpresspost to mail their pacakge? they told me it wasn't a courier so I sent it to the P.O. Box. Now the status says attempted delivery, waiting at pick up location!!

What happens if you do get pregnant during the process. How does your baby get a citizenship/visa?
-
That's a great link! Thanks!
IT seems like with all the visas you will need the same amount of proof to show ties to your home country.

DO the border agents know you have filed a petition? Crossing from Canada to USA
-
So the border people have no idea that you filed?

I am Canadian and am about to submit my I-29 for the K-1 Petition but I have a trip planned for August and now I am getting worried about getting denied at the border. Does it show up when they scan your passport, do they know that you've filed a petition?
Now I'm thinking it may be easier to just get married and file after... ahh please advise!!!

Ok I am about to submit I just need a second opinion on if I have everything, help please!
I Have:
- Cheque for $340
- Coverletter
- I-29F Form
- Question 18 answered on how we met (no additional page)
- Statements from both parties on the intent to mayy
- Picture from each of our trips and flight itineraries
- G325A and passport photo from both parties
- Birth Certificate (my fiance claims his birth certificate doesn't have a backside from Iowa)
Am I missing anything else?
I could provide phone records, e-mails etc. But I have read and been told it is not necessary?
I just want peace of mind everything is in order and PROBLEM-FREE!
Thanks

I am almost ready to submit, just a few more questions.
Is it necessary to include a separate page for question 18 (on explaining how you met and how you've sustained a relationship). I feel like I summed it up in the box, I am just wondering how important or how much more detail is required. Has anyone had success without the additional page?
Also, in terms of proof. I have about 4 or 5 flight itineraries and pictures from each trip. Is anything else necessary?
Thanks!

I was wondering the same, I will be visiting my finance in Canada and we will file it together from there but I still live in the states. It is just convenient since we can sign all the forms and complete it together there.
-
thanks for the clarification! it should go to california since it's from Nevada!
-
How do you know which centre to file at? On every document it says to mail it to Texas, is this correct but I see people have mailed theirs to California as well... which is correct?
Also, does it matter if it is mailed out of country?
-
thanks guys!
-
What kind of evidence is sufficient? I have flight receipts and pictures of us together, do I need to include phone logs, skype calls etc or is that over kill?
Also, does it matter if we mail this in from Canada?
-
Thanks everyone! I would be doing the interview in Montreal.
-
I'm curious as to if you guys found any advantages in hiring an immigration lawyer or filing yourself?
Do you submit all your supporting documents with the I-29 including supporting evidence such as emails, phone bills etc, etc.
I have so many questions but I will start with that!
