  1. Greetings all... I haven't yet written anything but I've been reading all of your comments and wanted to update you that we got out NOA2 last night via email around 12:15AM EST after having been transferred to Texas last month. It was one of the greatest moments yet and we feel so fortunate. Everyone hang in there and thanks for your work here and through your representatives!

Hey congrats! It seems like a lot of files were approved yesterday!

  2. Yes, a new day and a new week! I am feeling a little more positive this morning, because I sent in a request to my U.S. Representative over the weekend and I received a call from her office first thing this morning that they're on the case! Let's hope this brings some more answers... I'll post anything I find out, of course.

  3. Okay... I am very confused on my NOA1 date now.. I received an email AND text on December 17 saying my case was received and to be looking for the hardcopy in the mail... my I-797C that I received shortly after has a date of December 13 but then the transfer letter I got says my notice date is December 14... So which is it? My last four digits are 0188..

I've also noticed that the NOA1 date situation is a little iffy. My notifications were on December 12th. The hard copy I received in the mail that week said December 13th, but the transfer notice I received in the mail listed the case receipt date as December 12th, so that's the one I'm going with. Also, when I call USCIS and give them my receipt number and say my receipt date was December 12th, no one has argued/corrected me.

  4. I agree my petition was received before but my number is higher!

Yeah... Zooropa's breakdown of the receipt numbers was super helpful, but it still doesn't explain why the last digits (which should theoretically be assigned on the day the case was received, since my receipt number was included in the email I received on December 12th) are higher for some that filed a week or even a couple weeks before others. For example, a filer who's digits are 5073, and filed on December 17th, while mine are 6502 and I filed on December 12th.

I just think that's weird. I'm not necessarily looking for an explanation, because I doubt I'll find one, haha.

  5. Ok, so here's more info that might help people... I got my approval this morning, or noticed it (last check about 11:30pm last night) but the date of mailing is yesterday. My last numbers are 6175 and the 3 before and after me have not been approved or RFE so I think that they are just not in any sort of order at this point. My NOA1 was Dec 19, so the total was 176 days. I had a service request pending which had a response date of June 13th... so looks like I was right all along and our NOA2 was the response to our service request. Also contacted my congressional rep who called about 10 days ago, and again yesterday although she did not get through because the phones were apparently down? Really surprised no one else got approvals today, was really hoping for a happy day for a lot of us!! Still with you guys reading along, and starting to think about the next steps. Suerte, good luck!

That's really interesting... my NOA1 date is December 12th, so a week before yours, and yet my receipt number is more than 300 after yours... How is that possible? I thought that cases were assigned a number in the order they were received, but this sheds some light on one reason they are not being approved in order. Anyway, congrats again and thanks for all the info. Very helpful!

  6. I remember CSC filers wishing for the opposite during the months-long July 18th freeze up - wishing they were at VSC instead. In fact one changed his address in hopes of getting his file transferred from CSC to VSC in April. It didn't work, but he was glad the next week that it didn't, as that was when CSC finally picked up. He was approved a week later.

I know, I know... it goes back and forth, and I am trying my hardest not to envy those that had swift approvals, because that is great for them. It's just tough some days. This past week we even saw a couple February VSC filers, so that's even more disheartening.

  7. While it's encouraging...why are they just a tiny trickle? Three weeks later and we get one a day? ranting33va.gifcrying.gif

I know. It's kind of maddening actually. And I've been trying to avoid being the guy that says "...and they're approving February petitions at CSC," but... Dude, they're approving February petitions at CSC! Makes me feel like I live on the wrong side of the country.

  8. well, it's week long summary time!

we are waiting since the transfer of 5/23/2013...Monday will be our fourth week of no real movement but a trickle of a few approvals...there are ten days left in June...most of the December filers are at six months and counting...I am not sure if they can approve all of these files in ten days...it looks like July for most of them...this will mean 7+ months for these files...I warned of this in April, I always said that VSC cannot approve three to five a day and process in a fair and timely fashion. Heck, even five a day would be better than the VSC recent average. Even the USCIS saw this and made this decision to transfer. But this was met with some very strong comments from CSC people that said "it's not that bad" lol....yeah right...they have been doing up to 30 files a day and still continue with a very decent rate (March files being approved as I speak) right now. Any CSC person stating they would rather of had their file at VSC, PLEASE RAISE YOUR HAND, because I would trade with you in a heart beat. LOL. The October and November CSC filers that had argued with me in the past, they are completing their interviews and are very close to the weddings if not Honeymoons...the November and December VSC filers are at a standstill...(I dont agree that 3 TSC approvals is real movement) Do you realize how many VJ files they have transferred? This is just a small fraction of the whole.

I understand that each Center has its slow downs and speed ups...but this system is BROKEN. And for someone to repeat that "hey, it will speed up and the other center will slow down" is a cop out. You are no different than a peasant in a third world country stating that things are bad and let's just live with it. The correct term is "sheeple". Let's just throw our hands up and say "oh well, that's the system"...do you truly believe any change was ever made with this complacent attitude? A few years ago THREE months of waiting brought an outrage here on VJ, now look where we are. Complacency will grow this wait to 7-9 months soon. I have another appointment scheduled in July to make some change for the ENTIRE system. This system is USCIS, not "CSC vs. VSC"...as some have stated.

If you have read this far into my rant, thanks. But I vow to try to make real change for future filers in BOTH centers. It's a real shame that the recent stoppage at CSC never brought any people out to continue this fight after their approval. I ask, where are they now? How many calls have they made to their Reps since their approvals? For we all know CSC will slow down again...as will VSC if they ever pick up again....Rant off....(Let's hope we see some REAL movement Monday!)

There was a third approval at TSC? (I read the whole post, and I agree with you, just FYI.)

  9. If you are a resident there, then lease records, bank records, receipts of purchases, etc can all be used as proof you have been there during the past two years. Also your passport should have info/stamps on it. This can all be used, with pictures of you and her together at recognizable locations as backup support.

You do not need to worry about the I-134 now, as USCIS doesn't care about that. The embassy will though, and you will need a US CITIZEN sponsor for her. Is her uncle a US citizen?

I have to respectfully disagree that you don't need to "worry about" the I-134 now, just becase you don't need to send it with your I-129F (don't get me wrong, you do not need to send it with your I-129F packet). Personally, that would be one of the first things I'd consider to know whether you are even eligible to apply for the K1 visa. If you do not have a U.S. Citizen who can provide proof of financial support to sponsor you, you might not be eligible for the visa, and you certainly wouldn't be able for the Adjustment of Status after you're married.

EDIT: Sorry, I was typing this as you posted your response. If the uncle is a U.S. citizen, you're good!

  10. To clarify, is her uncle a U.S. citizen or permanent resident? From your original post, it sounded like your fiance is not the U.S. citizen, so her family member (unless he is legally residing in the U.S.) would not be eligible as a co-sponsor for the I-134... the requirements for this form are fairly vague and they differ for each country, but I'm pretty sure they all require that someone working and living in the U.S. can provide proof of financial support.
