I received an RFE for tax returns 5 yrs.

I already submitted transcripts via upload on the website. Now waiting again for an answer.

Does anybody have an estimate how long they take to review RFE responses?

I know. There is not much I can do except wait......it is just frustrating that some ppl get approved in a matter of minutes (Im happy for them) and some like me it will take months if not years....

I contact them via request on their website and they just replied saying my case in under review and pending security checks. I thought they ran your background before the interview.

Otherwise … there are fewer that 1000 federal judges in country trying cases for a population of 350 million people. Getting time from a judge for the minority of applicants who want a name change is difficult. Some field offices, especially those with same day oath, pretty much refuse to do oaths with name chances.

 

You can expect your oath to take several more months.

 

 

I am not sure how Milwaukee does the oath ceremonies. I know they do more administrative ones than judicial  but I dont know how frequent the judicial are

My case is been stuck for +1month after the interview. I did request a "name change."

HI- Still no answer, it's been almost a month and my cases still shows as "interview scheduled" - Does anybody know if this is normal for the office in Milwaukee? 

I did ask for my second last name to be dropped so not sure if changing your name creates delays.

No other pending cases 

I had my interview and everything was fine. But I still got a decision cannot yet be made. Is this normal? I really thought I was going to get a recommendation for approval.  Any thought?

You can send one bank statement for when you were not in the account. That can be used as proof of address.

They wanna see bank account statements with regular activity.

In my case, the HR dept was able to give me something for the insurance that had the coverage dates. Try to log in to the insurance website and see if you can find something. I know some companies you can get statements.

Car insurance that covers the past 2 years.

Utility bills. for the past 2 yrs

Some pictures

credit cards statements for the past 2 yrs

Tax returns, insurance, rental agreement/contract or if you own your home, and bank statements are the key docs they wanna see.

They must cover the past two years.

I would say not enough. You list looks pretty much like ours. we got a RFE

You need to send full bank statements that cover the past 2 years. Send one full statement per quarter.

Send your full tax returns or transcripts. - They asked us for that in RFE

send some kind of document that proves the dates of your health insurance. We only sent copies of the card and they wanted to see more. So I got a document called 'Proof of insurance" that had the dates.

Every item that you sent has to cover the past two years. If you only send the most recent, they will ask for more.

I changed my address before filling for ROC. I didn't change my wife's information because I thought it wasn't required. Not sure if things have changed. I did it on the USCIS website.

When I filled ROC, The application asked you to put all your prior addresses, so that's what I did.

Even if she handles the finances, no reason to not have a joint account. What if, god forbid, she were to get hurt and you needed access to the money to pay bills and handle things? You can't access the house money? You pay for your daily coffee with a credit card?

ROC is part planning, and after a Stokes planning should be in the front of your mind.

But every couple is different.

In my case for example, my wife has her own bank account and I dont have access to it. She had this bank account before we got married and I never got access to it. She works part time and makes little money so no need for me to be in that account.

We have a joint account where I get my payroll deposited, She does have access to this account because this is the account that we use the most.

Some couples have a joint account and another account that they dont share with each other. Some couples dont even share bank accounts. Everyone is different. That is my point.

yeah totally agree....I did not say that but I was actually thinking that

I was able to get in the plane with no problems at all. I was flying with AA and the employee who gave me my ticket seemed to know about the extension letter. So no issues at all.

The immigration officer was a different story. I was able to get into the US and I did not go thru secondary inspection. However he did tell me that my green card was expired and look at my letter with a weird face. Then asked “why would you travel with an expired GC?” then I told him it was for work. Then he asked me what I did for work abroad. I answered him and he asked for more details. He would interrupt me every time I was answering his questions and he had an ugly/angry face the whole time.

I guess that was my experience. I was able to come back and did not go thru secondary inspections. I just had a rude Immigration officer.

Utility Bills

Lease agreements

Pictures

Etc

Be prepare to wait and don't be surprise for RFE. Those are very common noways.

even tho, my letter says I was approved in the 15th

My questions are generic in nature ( or I assumed so anyway, I could easily be wrong there), which is why I didn't give specific details, but I do appreciate that people are reading and responding.

Sometimes they tell you what they want on the RFE.

I got a RFE. because even tho i sent lots of evidence, most of it did not cover the 2 years, for example I sent bank statements from 2012 and 2013 but not from 2011. They also wanted 2012 tax returns. Nowadays it seems they want to see full bank statements covering the 2 years. A lot of people are getting RFE because of that.

If you file jointly, you will not be denied, worst case scenario you will be waiting and then called for an interview.
