Thank you. I hope we are just as fortunate as you have been! After reading the comments from everyone who is going through something similar, I feel more hopeful. It just felt very strange to have our case transferred from our local Los Angeles office to NBC... But I guess that's how things are being done right now. I wish we would have applied for my husband's N-400 at the same time like the rest of you did. The thought of going through yet another immigration process makes me feel a little sick right now after all the suffering of I-485 and I-751 - LOL!

I just wanted to tell you all that -true to what Bill & Katya said, hubby received his ROC greencard on 5/18/18 - exactly one month after our 4/18/18 interview. Hallelujah! I guess all these new bureaucratic processes are in place now, but if all things are in order, the acceptance will go through. Good luck to those who are still waiting and thank you all for your support! :)

We were in the same boat.  We received the approval NOA about a month later.

  3. Husband and I had our I-751 interview on April 18th, 2018. We applied for his ROC on August 15th, 2016 and it took that long to move forward! Was hoping to receive an approval/some kind of final decision but got a notice today that our case is also being transferred to NBC. How frustrating! Don’t even know what this means! :-( Guess we’ll just pray and keep each other posted...

  4. Hello, my fellow March 2014 filers! I hope you are all well! I am touching base to see how everyone's ROCs are going? I filed my husband's back on August 15th, 2016, we got the year extension, he did his biometrics on October 14th, and I've heard nothing since. I know it can take a year for the petition to be approved, but I would feel better if I had an idea of how others are doing. You guys kept me sane during the first GC application, and I'm reaching out again. ❤

  5. Just now.. received texts messages about my case number and my K-2's that New Card is being Produced... Answered prayer.. it pays to be patient.. Will just wait for the cards to arrive.. :dancing:(L):content::jest::dance::goofy:

Congratulations! That's wonderful! We all know how horribly stressful this process has been for you since we've all gone through it so ENJOY! You can breathe freely now! (The March 2014 filers can reconvene when it's time to apply for ROC - LOL!)

    :dancing: :joy: :dancing:

  6. I had my interview on June got a RFE during the interview and still waiting for a response on the RFE. I made a INFOPass for Monday. Hopefully, I get some good news. This waiting game is getting the best of me.

I'm so sorry to hear this! When did you submit your RFE?

We also got an RFE at our interview. They gave us 3 months to submit it, so -on the advice of the VJers- we took our time gathering additional evidence of our bonafide marriage. We submitted in-person at our local office about a month later and received the GC a week later. Let us know how Monday goes! Fingers crossed for you....

  7. Does this mean my wait is also over?

    Decision

On September 2, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

That's what my status said last Thursday, as well as emails and texts, and today, we received the formal notice in the mail that everything has been approved. :) Congrats!

  8. Wonderful news, VJers - we got texts this past week that my husband's "new permanent resident status has been registered", his "card is in production", and I believe this absolutely harrowing journey finally has a happy ending... at least until we apply for ROC in two years! I think a little angel was really looking out for us by allowing us to place our new evidence directly into the hands of our actual IO the week before, even though the office was officially closed! I mean, when does THAT ever happen?

I don't know what I'd do without your support and if I didn't have somewhere to vent and rant. I used this forum from start to finish and it helped immensely (not to mention saving me $1750 I might have had to spend on a lawyer)! I am so grateful for all of you... and for all the rest of you who are still waiting: GOOD LUCK! :dancing:

  9. Hello, VJers! I am so very happy to announce that my SIX MONTH Greencard saga with my husband is finally coming to a close. We turned in our last set of evidence last week to the VERY officer that interviewed us and issued us the RFE and -today- I finally got the texts/emails that the I-130 has been approved and that card production has begun and will be sent to us within 30 days! At long last, my hubby and I can finally breathe FREE! LOL - thank you all for your support and excellent advice. I don't know how I would've made it without you guys! Good luck to those of you who are still waiting! :)

  10. Hello, my fellow VJers! My husband and I finally got all of our stuff for our interview RFE together and we headed over to the office today to drop it off. When we arrived around 3:35pm, the security staff said that they were closed and there was no one to accept our paperwork (yikes, we could've sworn they closed at 4pm), but they were kind enough to ask who our IO was and they called the office to see if he would come and take our papers! Wow! Talk about a negative thing working out for the best!

So our IO actually came out to accept our papers and he clearly recognized us. He even seemed friendlier this time (now that he wasn't in a hurry to go to lunch!) and we handed our package to him, reminding him to stamp our RFE copy as proof of receipt as he had once advised us. He told us to give them 30 days and we should know whether my husband gets his GC or not.

On one hand, I think it's great that our actual IO received the paperwork as opposed to a random front desk clerk who doesn't know us, but if for some strange reason he just didn't like us, who knows what he'll do?

Honestly, this whole process has left me so numb. I will probably laugh really hard and loud if we get another RFE or a denial, especially now that we were able to include a bunch of photos of our big official wedding with 200 guests! What an insane journey this is.... The security guard at the entrance must've heard my deep sigh because he kindly said, "It'll be over soon. Takes awhile but it gets done."

I'll keep you guys posted either way. Thanks again for all the support. You all really helped me keep it together!

  11. Any Updates Guys ? MY I-485 was received by USCIS at April 10 & at July 15 we got a letter from USCIS that may be delay for other 6 months but they will not interview us .. any one has same case or received the Green Card recently ?

I have read about your type of case in the March Filers thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/484167-march-2014-aos-filers/page-68#entry7136740

If you don't have to deal with an interview, it can take longer to get the Greencard. But at least you know you'll get it. :)

  12. I everyone good news, Yesterday we got an email with our case number and interview date. It will be on August 11. So we only have 10 days to get everything ready. We quite exited and happy.

Good luck everyone in your interviews.

Congratulations! We had our interview on July 1st and our stupid IO wanted to go to lunch so he handed us an RFE instead of an approval. We don't have a rental lease because we live at home with my aging parents, my dad's name is on our car because his credit got us an excellent deal, and since we live at home, we don't have utility bills in our names. Yes - the jerk didn't care about all the other awesome evidence we provided and didn't even interview us really to get to know us. We haven't submitted our RFE yet because we just had our official public wedding on July 19th and didn't want to bother ourselves with such negativity. Good luck to you - make sure you have all the evidence you can pull up unless you don't mind getting another RFE. Sometimes people get so freaking lucky and walk out of the interview with an approval after 5 minutes. We were not so lucky. *sigh*

  13. Hey, guys! I just got the interview yesterday. It went very well since I came with K-1 visa. The interview appointment was at 1.35. We got there at 1.30 and waited in the waiting room for about 30 minutes. The interviewer didn't ask much. She asked mostly from the form. For documents, she only wanted to see my husband's and my passports which I have 4. Then she asked us if we had any documents we wanted to submit. So I only gave her pictures on the marriage day and health and dental insurance. In the same day evening, we got the notification that the green card is in production and I'm gonna get the welcome notice soon.

Hooray!! Good luck you guys who are still waiting :dancing:

Congrats, Lillyryu. These are the types of stories that made me feel like my husband and I were a shoo-in and pretty much why I lost my sh** that we didn't get our GC at our interview. My husband and I have decided to wait until after our big wedding party next Saturday to submit the RFE responses because we just don't even want to deal with it. I'll let you all know it how goes. I'm pretty much apathetic about it all now. *sigh*

  14. I am so sorry to hear that. Since I read your story, I haven't been confident at all. Because me and my husband just graduated last year. And he doesn't have much time and money to take a trip. So we normally just watch tv shows together or have his friends come over and have drinks. The only pictures that we have right now are the pictures from the marriage day with his parents. We don't have my name on his apartment lease because we had to pay more if we did that. The joint evidences that we have are health insurance, dental insurance and joint credit cards.

My interview is next thursday and I'm so nervous and worried that the evidences we have aren't enough

Lillyryu, you might get lucky and not have a jerk of an IO like we had. I thought being together for almost 8 years would work in our favor, but it worked against us because our IO must've thought: "Well, they've been together so long, they should have more proof!" Jerk move, seriously. I almost wish we didn't have any of our vacation photos because then he wouldn't have asked for ticket stubs! I think your IO will understand that you are new graduates and you are building your lives together so you won't have vacation proof just yet.

I read that notarized affidavits are good so if you can get several of those, from friends and parents, etc. - this may help. The health insurances and credit card are good evidence as well. Don't forget your joint bank account and make sure you both have made purchases with it! Also, maybe print out popular Facebook pages and statuses that your friends have liked and commented on? Do you have any mail that has been addressed to you both?

My hubby reminded me that RFEs are not the end of the world (I realize that today now that I have calmed down)! The RFEs the IO wants from us are pretty simple, although not really necessary in light of all the other evidence we provided. Again, our IO was being a pain because he wanted to go to Del Taco!

Good luck to you and please keep us posted! The advice we get from here is so valuable! :-)

  15. You guys will do fine, and if there isn't deadline by tomorrow, just wait for a couple of days or at least a day so you can submit any minor or any evidence you can think of.

About phone bills, I submitted them during my interview but I submitted only 1st 3 pages showing both of our names and numbers of each bill. ( Each bill was 12-16 pages long but I submitted 1st few pages only )

Don't let stress ruin happiness and excitement of upcoming wedding party ( I know its easier said than done ), this time shall pass by tomorrow. Hope you guys have a wonderful wedding party. Good Luck.

You're a sweetheart. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words, as well as your sound advice. :)

  16. I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. I think you will get approved once you give them few more documents. I don't know if you have provided them affidavits or not but you can also submit affidavits. Notarized Letter from your parents saying you guys live with them at their home so you don't have utility bills or rental lease in your names will help also. Good luck, I will pray for you.

Thank you, Super King. My Dad said he would sign an affidavit stating that we live with them and contribute to their household and we'll get it notarized tomorrow before my husband takes the papers to the USCIS office. We have a substantial stack of items now (the entire cellphone bill is 18 pages long!) - stupid IO is gonna' get what he asked for and THEN SOME! Lazy, grumpy jerk - wasting our tax dollars and sticking someone else with the job of going through it all!

I appreciate your prayers. I've been holding my breath up until this moment, so now I'll just let go and let the cards fall where they do. Our official wedding party is on July 19th and it's DIY so we have A TON of things to do for it. We don't need this stupid GC drama bringing us down right now. We were just hoping to have the GC in our hot little hands just so we would NOT feel the weight of it over our heads as we repeat our vows in front of 200 of our friends and loved ones.... If you marry an American, you don't have to worry if your spouse can stay in the country. People just don't know how we suffer with this uncertainty.

  17. VJers, I am so disappointed right now. Our interview was this morning and I have an RFE in my hand instead of a GC approval. I'm sorry - I just got so caught up in everyone's success stories that I believed mine would go as smoothly, especially because my husband and I have been together for close to 8 years.

We arrived at the Chatsworth, CA location around 10:20am (appointment was set for 10:30am). We popped our appointment letter into the drop box per office instructions and we sat down. My hubby got called to check in a few minutes later. We sat and waited... and waited... and waited. Finally, 2 hours later (12:20pm), we get called into the office. The IO wasn't unfriendly, but he was definitely all business. He proceeded to ask us for a variety of documents (originals of birth certificates, etc.). I showed him our SS cards with our new married name, as well as my bank cards and a bank document with our married last name. He asked for a joint bank account statement and it took me a while to locate it in my pile of copies from the papers we had already sent in with our petition. He pointed out that only my hubby makes purchases with the joint account. I told him I use my credit card for safety because it's safer with all the card-skimming going on. I do -however- pay for rent and other household bills with checks from the joint account.

He didn't even bother looking at my hubby's children's foreign birth certificates, which were a struggle to procure because one is from the Netherlands and the other is from Indonesia.

He looked at a variety photos and asked us some questions. I even supplied him with the invitation for the big wedding party we're having on July 19th, 2014 as well as a stack of RSVPs with fun, personal messages from our guests that we received. I pointed out that there's an official wedding website with online comments from friends. I really thought we were going to be okay.

But -NOPE- after 25 minutes, he sent us home with an RFE for MORE proof of bonafide marriage. We explained to him that now that we live at home with and take care of my parents, we don't have a formal rental lease anymore and my father's name is on our utility bill as well as on our car title because his credit got us 2.5% APR. He also wanted itineraries of our vacations together. Seriously???? What if we were like most people and have had NO money to fly anywhere and could only do road trips???

I know that it's not a big deal, but I'm so afraid that the documents we have scraped together won't be enough or they'll get lost in the pile of papers that disgruntled government officers are careless with, and I'm just sooooooooooooooooo tired of this whole process! I got really confident reading everyone's stories and believed we had this in the bag. I lost it on the way to the parking lot and have been crying ever since, not understanding how some couples -please don't anyone take offense- who have been together for short a time and barely know each other can get their GCs but someone I have loved since 2006 and been living with since Summer 2007 can't get one. I honestly think my IO was being a jerk because he wanted to go to lunch (his co-worker popped his head in to check up on him and our IO said he was "almost done" with us)!

We've put together what documents we could. We found old email itineraries (they'll have to do because I'm not sentimental with plane tickets - I travel for a living and I don't want the clutter), we found copies of our old lease from a house we rented from 2007-2011, we highlighted our car payment withdrawal from our monthly bank statement that matches the online car bill with my father's name and our home address, we already gave the IO a copy of our family car insurance that lists my husband as one of the beneficiaries and we're adding a copy of our health insurance acceptance letter that has both of our names on it. My hubby is going to take the papers to the office tomorrow morning instead of mailing them in (we have the option of either). The IO told us to have a copy of each thing we submit and have the front desk person date stamp each item so that in the slight chance they get lost, we have proof that we did bring them in.

So, I guess the moral of the story is: make sure you have tons of proof of bonafide marriage. If you're a unique couple like us who live with parents or with family and have no formal rental lease or utility bills under your name, maybe create a rental lease agreement and have the utilities transferred to your name. I thought this was going to be an interview where they ask you all kinds of personal questions to see if they can catch you in a lie. I felt like we were just filling in our application all over again, but in person.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting. I hope someone can learn from my frustration. :(
