  1. I did read pg 48 and i was the one who provide the link. I thought NVC will give us a tracking number. but i thought it wrong. I went to DHL tracking site and makeup a tracking number as EXP17NOV2013A and EXP18NOV2013A, date range from 11/16 - 11/19 and select Cambodia. None found. Am i doing something wrong?

Maybe it's too early to track...

Oh sorry, didn't pay attention to who the poster was. You track it right but I think you need to wait a bit or was the file sent earlier than when you call? Not sure. Hope other VJ-er can enlighten you further

  2. I call NVC and they told me it's send out to Cambodia. What's odd is that they said they do not have a tracking number. Any of you who got the tracking number, is it from NVC or tracking number from your consulate?

Also when I call DoS, they said the file is still with NVC and NVC have not send to consulate.. just odd

If you actually read page 48 of this post/thread, it's written clearly how to track your package from NVC to Consulate.

    Please take time to read.

  3. Hi everyone,

I've lurked these forums for a while and finally registered as we are now getting prepared to apply for the k1 visa. I'll give a brief backround and then ask my questions.

My fiancée and I met 6 years ago online, met in person for the first time in 2010. I live in Ontario, Canada and he's from New Jersey. He has been in Canada for a while now. We just recently welcomed out beautiful babygirl into this world, 9 weeks ago...yikes, they grow so fast! I am sincerely overwhelmed and confused by this whole process, I have read the guides and I'm still at a loss.

    Questions.

    1. Where do we start?! What exact forms need to be filled out and what is the process? I see people talking about noa1 and noa2 and I'm confused as to where that all comes from.

This is the flowchart : http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

This is the step by step guide http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

You can read both of the above, you can find this link on top of this page, labeled "Guides" -->> Pick K1 visa

    2. Does anyone know if my daughter needs to be included in the application or did she acquire status at birth since my fiancée is a citizen? We obviously we're not married at the time of her birth.

I "think" your daughter can be registered as U.S. Citizen since your finacee is a citizen, even though the child is born abroad.

Not quite sure about this one, hope the others can help you better.

    3. Unfortunately, my fiancée has overstayed in Canada, will this affect our application?

Your fiancée will only be affected if she is going to apply for Canada AOS/visa. As long as you don't overstay your visa in U.S. You will be fine

    4. We were planning on sending all of our paperwork to his parents and then they will send it off to the appropriate place for us, instead of doing abroad, from what I've read this is allowed, please confirm. In addition to this question, are we able to put his parents address for my fiancées address? This is where we plan to stay.

Yes you can use that address as U.S. Citizen address. You can ask them to submit paperwork from U.S.

    5. My fiancées father will be the cosponser, is there anything he needs to fill out for the k1 process or does that come later when we would adjust status?

He will need to fill out the I-134 but that is not till later at the interview stage/ packet 3 stage. After NOA2

I have a million more questions but I guess I'll start with these. I've read that you don't need a lawyer unless you have complications, ours would me him overstaying here, but that Is it. I'm hoping to get all the help I need from you wonderful people. Sorry in advance for the extremely long post and any typos, iPad autocorrect is horrible.

  4. Hi nanraj, I read that your visa was approved! Congrats!

So I'm assuming there was nothing wrong with your medical report, considering I just had mine in KL and they told me they'd deliver it to the embassy (and had to pay RM10 for the delivery).

I was getting nervous and stressed out thinking there might be something wrong with me cause the instructions in Packet 4 said that the reports will be given to the applicants, except for those with Class A or Class B conditions ...

Anyway, on another note, does anyone know whether US Embassy in KL accepts co-sponsor for K-1 visa? I know that it's a bit too late to ask (my interview will be on the 19th Nov!) and I do know what Manilla doesn't accept co-sponsors for K visas.....but...yeah. crying.gif

So. here I am coming to the rescue!!!

This email is directly quoted from the reply that I got from the embassy.

"Thank you for your email. There is no specific limit to meet for a K1 application. However, the petitioner must complete the I-134 form as the sponsor. If the petitioner does not have any income, you must have a co-sponsor with income and complete another I-134 form. Thank you."

As of how old is this email? This email is sent to me on October 21st. I asked them about the poverty line be 100% or 125% and about co-sponsors. This is what I got from them.

Really hope that helps you! good luck on your interview and remember to write back about your experience!

  5. Oh, does it take longer for a foriegner? It seems like everybody here got it within 1-2 months...it's for my wife, she's from Iran, but been living in Malaysia for 8 years, first as a student, then working.

not sure but you can apply it now and not pick up the certificate since the certificate is dated as of when you pick it up!

  6. Thanks a lot for all your useful information on this topic! We're still waiting for our NOA2, but we'll put in for our Certificate soon via the website, so we'll be prepared for the NVC process.

Applying for malaysia COC but you are from Iran? You should apply now! It takes a while to process
