  1. I'm so excited that my file has not been forgotten. This transfer has given me hope again. I went shopping today and started purchasing decorations for the wedding and patterns for the bridesmaids dresses. I fell in love with a wedding concept in a Nigerian wedding site and I am using it along with my New Orleans culture and my future hubby's Jamaican culture to plan a very unique wedding!!!

I want to be with him for the interview but don't think it's financial smart being that I am such a big wedding and reception. I can't wait to see the finished product of my dress once my sister and mother finishes making it.

  2. This might encourage a few of the transferees to TSC ...

  3. Hi everyone,

As it took just under 2 weeks for our RFE to be processed and approved I thought I'd share with you something I did that I felt helped push transferred toorward.

We were notified of our RFE on August 2nd, sent our response on the 12th and it was processed and under review on August 19th, then approved on August 30th.

During this period I called twice, once If I remember correctly was right before we responded to the RFE on August 12th and the second time was August 26th. Both time I told the tier 2 officers that we would really appreciate it if the case would be processed and approved quickly because we had two specific dates chosen for the wedding. Both times the tier 2 officers signaled not to worry and that things would be processed.

Perhaps we just got lucky and were processed quickly, or sent in a really good RFE response, but maybe stating that we have specific upcoming dates picked out for the wedding helped.

Something for everyone to think about.

    Best of luck to everyone!

I have called several times and asked for a tier 2 officer and both times I was told that I was within processing time and couldn't be transferred. then given the whole wait and see speech. how were you able to get transferred to a tier 2 officer

I have noticed that my anticipated adjudication date is now being pushed back....sucks!!!

  4. This is why I contacted the Ombudsman about those of us stuck at VSC and who haven't been transferred - hell, when Blakcajun rang VSC, they told her they hadn't made a decision on whether to transfer us or not, which is simply not good enough. They've had plenty of time to make that decision and they're now messing around. Regardless, the Ombudsman has passed my concerns onto a manager there who will get in contact with USCIS.

While some of the old timers here may disagree with this course of action, I do urge anyone who is stuck at VSC to make your voices heard and contact the Ombudsman. Give them your receipt number too so they know we're not just complaining for the hell of it. Eventually they will either transfer us, or they'll start sorting out approvals quicker.

I agree it feels as if our petitions have been overlooked. I am composing another letter as well

  5. I so wish that they process your application. I'd love for you to have some good news.. Hang in there star_smile.gif

On another note.. Request for Evidence Response Review

On August 26, 2013, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location.

Woo hooo.. On my birthday too.. I guess they want cake now.. oops8rh.gif My family and May filers ate it all. None for USCIS rofl.gif

    Happy birthday!!!

  6. Hi everyone. I saw this information from a forum where a CO was answering questions by applicants and posted this information as a Breaking Newa which was released today. I think is a good move and it will make things faster I also think it involves people filing for K1. You guys can go through it: NEWS: Effective September 1, 2013, the DS-260 Immigrant Visa Electronic Application and the DS-261 (Choice of Address and Agent) will replace the paper-based DS-230 Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration (parts I and II) and the DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent). Beneficiaries submitting new cases that arrive at the National Visa Center (NVC) from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on or after September 1 will be instructed to complete the DS-260/261 in lieu of the DS-230/3032. Please see http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5164.html for more information.

This is part of our move to "go paperless" and stop killing so many trees. I'm sure it will be confusing at first, but it's just like what the Non-Immigrant Visa Units are already doing, with their online applications. I'll keep you all posted as this develops.

I'd be more than happy to do it electronically just as soon as they approve me...lol Going paperless may speed up the process

  7. Yup, new week. Let's see if the rest of us (like myself and Blakcajun) get our NOA2s, RFEs or maybe even an NOA-T...

    fingers crossed

My group of transfer for those intersected in the transfer activity.

5743 just had a address change few mins ago. So it seems they will either get approved or rfe sometimes soon. Only 5742 left.

    wow..the transfers are being touched!!!

  8. They run a background check on your fiance. Depending on the country and whether that country has mae its records all computerized -- THAT is what can hold up a petition. Also keep in mind that some countries tend to process faster than others, so keep an eye out on other petitioners from Jamaica. You might just be petitioning for a country that has a slow turn around.

They are giving conflicting information because she told me this morning that it is my background they are checking and that his will be completed with his poloce record. this is all confusing and frustrating.
