I had my interview today and everything went just perfect! All in all 38 minutes at the embassy! Can't wait to come home to my husband!!

For everyone: this is my spouse experience. ***Alwayz make sure that the embassy got your medical*** so you don't go through this. (See below)

My husband had a problem though. He was told that they didn't have his medical. He did his medical in Mombasa so he was told to reschedule his appointment as they can't seem to locate his medical. Apparently the consular lady that I spoke to claimed that he said he did his medical at IOM...and my spouse told them that he did it in Mombasa (so there was a miscommunication). I checked with the Mombasa doctor and they gave me an airway bill #, I checked DHL website and it was received on August 7th. It was sitting in the Mail room. I think this was the consular's fault, they should check their mail room and not claim things that they don't know. Anywayz, I called the consular services and told them that it was received at the embassy. I told them I had waited a long time for interview date and since this was their fault and not ours, we should be rescheduled asap, She told me to have my spouse come this wednesday august 14th at 7am. I was relieved and I thanked God.

Check with Rainyblue, I think the parents are going to do their medical on the 6th or something like that. As for me, my spouse already has his medical done. Just waiting for the interview now since I was not able to reschedule. Pray for me everyone. May Allah make it easier for us In shaa Allah.

Well I guess you have your answer than. You must been trying to get an earlier interview.

I didn't try to get an earlier interview...it just so happens that we got the interview date so soon Thank God but now I need to change it due to unavoidable circumstances...but since there are no available interview dates, I think we'll just stick with this date and pray for the best. It's all in God's hands.

Have you contacted the embassy? I know for me when rescheduling you have to email the embassy with case# and beneficiary name and say Reschedule Interview in Subject line.

Yes, I did try to email them but no answer from them yet. I called them to reschedule as well and they said that there are no available appointments at this time.

Hi, It's best if you know the date it was shipped, that way it's very accurate. Was it shipped on 7/18 or another day?

DOS said that it was sent on 07/18 (also NVC told me this as well) as I called that very day and I also called right now. Maybe the embassy is taking their time to put it in to the DOS system, not sure what is going on. Hopefully, I will be able to talk to someone at the embassy Monday morning to confirm that the package did indeed arrive and also rescheduling the interview.

I have a quick question. I called NVC on July 18th and they said my package has shipped. The waybill # i found on DHL is 7570687552. It has been received at the embassy but today I called DOS and they said that the documents are in transit to the consular section in Nairobi. I also checked CEAC website and it does still say its in transit. Should I be worried or ? Someone signed for it at the embassy i believe. I am trying to reschedule my interview date because something has come up so I just want to make sure that my file is at the embassy. I already sent my request to the embassy, hopefully the visa packet is there. I just want to make sure what the DOS is saying is true or should I go by the DHL info that the package has been received.

I haven't been online since it happened, but I took my husband, Wilson, for his interview on July 3rd, they asked him a few simple questions: How did you meet your wife? Who is Samal? (This is Wilson's cousing who was named after me and was mentioned in a letter that we submitted with the 'proof' and applications) Who is Al? (This is my father who filed an affidavit of support for Wilson) How do you communicate with your wife? (Wilson said, "in English" lol) They asked if he had any pictures, which he brought a couple. They told him he was approved, returned all the files and gave him information for his next step. One of the people he was speaking with in the waiting room had applied for a work visa (his brother was in US) and he was denied because he forgot to fill out some paperwork, or didn't do it correctly. The visa was ready for pick up on July 9. We booked tickets on the 10th, picked up the visa and yellow packet on the 11th, left on the 14th and arrived in Chicago on the 15th. Because we were together, they let us go to the US citizen/green card line for the passport stamping. The person at the counter gave Wilson a red folder to put his packet in and directed us to get our bags and go to customs. At customs the person there will direct you to an area where you give the red folder and passport to a man at a desk and sit and wait to be called. It took about 20 minutes, Wilson was called up and fingerprinted, then they gave him his passport back and directed him to go around the corner to line number 4. The passport had the visa in it and a stamp that said the immigrant has been notified of the conditional status of the visa and how to remove the conditional status, but Wilson said the man didn't say anything to him. Line number four was just the customs bag xray. He asked if we brought food, we said no and we were out! In the US!

Now I think we are waiting for the green card to be mailed, is that correct? I don't remember if I said I wanted the Social Security card right away...is there a way to check the status of the Green Card and Social Security card?

My hubby was just APPROVED! Thank you, God. He interviewed with a nice American in her 20's who only asked him a few simple questions. She did not request any info from him (we front loaded the application like crazy). He said he noticed that the file was already stamped APPROVED when he got up to the counter. I will write a review later but just wanted to share with our VJ family that our wait is almost over...my hubby will be coming home in less than 2 weeks! Feeling so relieved.

I called DOS a few minutes before and they said no interview date.

I called NVC earlier at 10am eastern today and they did not have one yet.

August 28th is my interview date.

Just curious. I was under the impression that the applicant would be given a sealed envelope after their medical to take to the interview. According to my wife, they told her that the results would be sent to embassy directly by them. Was I misinformed, or has this change come about more recently?

Just wanted to share the good news. I just called NVC and interview has been scheduled for August 12th. Thanks Saylin, dwheels and everyone that helps with this threads. You guyz are awesome and God Bless you all. Now....time...to prepare for the interview and do the medical...pray for me everyone. May God make it easier for all us In shaa Allah (God willing)

Thank you. David is leaving Uganda right now to go to Nairobi to get everything started. Medical on Tuesday and interview is next Wednesday. Hoping he has the visa in hand by August 1 and in my arms stateside by August 9th! Hope to update with good news in the next few weeMay G
