  1. Could be 1-2 weeks still. Traditionally they happen first week of Oct, but in July I don't think anyone on the forum received a date and had to wait until Aug for a Sept date.

Really? I didn't think there were actually time periods that they send out interview dates. I assumed it was more of a "when requested by the NVC" kinda thing. Are they normally 5-6 weeks from the time you get the date?

  2. Hey Guys,

Just waiting for my interview date to be sent from the NVC and I was wondering how far in advance they usually schedule, and how long it usually takes to the the date from case complete??? My completion date was Sept 17th.

    Any help would be great.

    Cheers,

  3. I spoke to them today as well. The very nice agent said that they really were "slammed" right now, and they have actually started hiring dozens more agents in light of the workload. It just takes time to screen and train them. I've got a a verbal case complete for my file and it's being held due to my daughters final approval being delayed. They wont give me an interview date until both are done. Imagine how I feel right now! :(

  4. Hi there,

My 2.5 year old daughter and I are at the end stages of Consulate Processing. We both have approved I-130's and verbal case completes with the NVC. The issue is that it's taken a tad longer than anticipated to get this done, and she is visiting my wife in the US right now. My question is, if we were to switch to AOS for her only at this stage, is it as in-depth as I am reading on the USCIS website? We have already been through the I-864 and all the other support documents that have been accepted by the NVC.

Does anyone know what is involved with doing this change? Would I have to only advise the NVC of the change and submit the I-485 along with fees to change process direction? At her age, biometrics is not needed, and the medical can be done in the US upon request of the USCIS.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

  5. I haven't seen this question come up yet, but get a supervisor on the phone, maybe they can get it done.

if you submitted all the docs at the same time I would wait since it should go case complete x2 soonish

My daughters final document was submitted about 10 days after mine. Her file seems to move quicker than mine, but it's just such a waste of time for them to do it this way. I understand the reasoning, but I would think they should find out from me if it's even needed.

I will try phoning the supervisor and see where it goes.

  6. In need of some advice...

Apparently my case completed last week and is now on hold while they review my daughters final document so they can interview us together. I don't really need to do it at the same time as her, and I would love for them to get me date. Question is, I could write an email to them and ask them to get me the interview date separately, but it will take 7-10 days for that email to even get to them, at which time my daughters case will likely be done OR if there was a way to get someone on the phone to just release the hold, it would be much quicker and easier.

Is there any way that someone at the NVC has the ability to do this by phone?

    Advice????

  7. Ok, so let me try to understand this.

Your case gets transferred to NVC and you apply for EP. You receive an email immediately after sending the OPTIN email that says they got it. About 7-10 business days later, you get the approval for EP. Around that time, you submit the support documents for your DS-260 and again receive the email saying they got an email from you. About 7-10 business days later, you get an email that says they have now received your email and can take up to 20 business days to review. IF you get a Checklist, then you have to respond, at which time it takes an additional 7-10 business days (sometimes 14) for them to even accept the Checklist response, and then they need another 20 business days to review AGAIN.

Now, I am not sure about this, but isn't the EP program supposed to be more efficient? It takes an average of 1 month to deal with every single hurdle with respect to an application.

Am I correct in that it makes no sense?

    "frustrated" :)

  8. Hi guys

I had an rfe for court records which I emailed and mailed. .. they would have got the reply 3 weeks ago this Friday. .there was no court records because it never went to court. apro advised me that any other reports would have the same info on them. So I mailed stating this.... which I was advised it was enough to support rfe .... I still waiting my patience is waning sad.png( fed up.com. .... ever time I call they say its under review and could take up to 20 days ..... just sooooooooo fed up. ...

I feel for ya on that. The delay's in between submissions is the worst part of the whole thing. I'm waiting for a case complete after submitting a checklist response.

  9. Mine took quite a while. My dad is a co-sponsor and they needed an extra tax thing that I didn't send initially and it was the last thing I needed to send. It arrived at the NVC on July 1st and I didn't get a case closed until July 23rd. They always just tell you it can take up to 20 business days. Yours may not take as long, but it's probably good to be prepared just in case!

Yikes, thats quite a while. I wonder why an update requires so much time.

I guess it is what it is.

    Thanks for the response.

  10. Hey Guys,

For my daughters case, I did the OPTIN email for EP at the end of June and received confirmation from the NVC that she was now enrolled (took about 9 days). I submitted the documents to the email address for EP and have been waiting for them to accept the docs for the past 2 weeks. Today, I received an email saying "this case is not enrolled in electronic processing" and all the documents need to be resubmitted to the proper unit. My wife (the petitioner) contacted the NVC to figure it out and they told her she would have to re-apply and resubmit all the docs, and there was nothing more they could do.

So, this is where I would like to escalate it and deal with a supervisor. Any input on who I contact and how?

    M

  11. Hey Guys,

Submitted my DS-260 on in late june and then support documents on July 3rd through Electronic processing. I had not heard from the NVC for almost two weeks and had gotten no receipt email, so I decided to phone NVC and found out that my file was being "looked at" and not to worry. I also got a blank checklist last week, which led me to believe that all was good.

Anyhow, I received an email today that said the NVC has received the support documents and require up to 20 days to review. That seems to be an awful long time considering how long ago they were submitted electronically. I was under the assumption that EP was supposed to be quicker and more efficient.

Is there anyone I can/should contact to handle this? I was not expecting to have to wait an additional 20 days for a result.

    Any advice would be great.

    Thanks

  12. Called twice this morning. First agent was useless and didn't even really check.

The second was great, and she said it looks like they are reviewing some documents, although it doesn't say what documents. Can I assume that they got them or should I inquire with someone else?

Just as an FYI to people.... Spoke to NVC on Monday about my case after receiving a blank checklist (which meant nothing by the way). They don't always send an email once documents are received. My case is almost complete and they are just reviewing my AOS without one email from them indicating that they got all of the stuff.

So, for those out there that don't get the email. DONT WORRY! :)
