    1. If you marry two women - but then meet another who is already married to two men. You want to marry her - how does this work? Do you also marry the men? What if one of the men doesn't want to marry you?

It would work fine if we declare women property. Instead of marrying them, we buy them and sell them. And no piece of property can have more than one owner. It's not that difficult really.

If one person wants to get divorced from one of the people they have married (but not the others), how would that work? How would you determine child custody, alimony etc. etc.?

One way around that would be to embrace the corporate concept. Instead of marriages, we form LLCs. A child born in that LLC is a product of that LLC. If you decide to quit an LLC or if you are removed due to misconduct you no longer have any rights to the product.

Of course you can't be removed without misconduct anymore. Say bye bye to the 'at will' divorce.

  1. This debate is a great illustration of why we need more federalism in this country. What we're getting is the exact opposite.

Let individual states opt out of federal programs like food stamps and social security and let them run their state the way they want.

It will become pretty obvious who is right and who is wrong. At that point the states that are doing it wrong can embrace the right way of doing things or the different groups can go their different ways.

  2. BEIJING: The head of China’s largest mosque was murdered after conducting morning prayers, the local government in the far-western region of Xinjiang said on Thursday, amid intensifying violence in the turbulent region.

Jume Tahir, the government-appointed imam of the 600-year-old Id Kah mosque in the city of Kashgar, was killed on Wednesday by “three thugs influenced by religious extremist ideology”, the Xinjiang government’s web portal Tianshan said.

Police launched an investigation and shot dead two of the alleged assailants while capturing the other, Tianshan said.

    ...

Tahir was found dead in a pool of blood outside the mosque’s prayer house, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported earlier on its website.

Xinjiang, home to China’s mostly Muslim Uighur ethnic minority, has seen escalating violence which in the past year has spilled over into other parts of China.

NEW YORK: Egypt is leading a new coalition of Arab states — including Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates — that has effectively lined up with Israel in its fight against Hamas that controls the Gaza Strip, says the New York Times in a report published on Thursday.

The newspaper said that after the military ouster of the Islamist government in Cairo last year, Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi might have contributed to the failure of the antagonists to reach a negotiated ceasefire even after more than three weeks of bloodshed.

Battling Hamas in Gaza two years ago, Israel found itself pressed from all sides by unfriendly Arab neighbours to end the fighting.

However, the newspaper says “the Arab states’ loathing and fear of political Islam is so strong that it outweighs their allergy to Benjamin Netanyahu,” the prime minister of Israel, said Aaron David Miller, a scholar at the Wilson Centre in Washington and a former Middle East negotiator under several presidents.

“I have never seen a situation like it, where you have so many Arab states acquiescing in the death and destruction in Gaza and the pummelling of Hamas,” he said.

“The silence is deafening”, the newspaper quoted Mr Miller as saying.

It is time to kick the Hamas from Gaza -- like the Taliban from the Waziristan. The Palestinian state could have been born years ago except for the hijacking of Gaza by Hamas.

May be Arabs are counting on the child killer Netanyahu to do the job.

Currently Pakistani leadership is the house of Saud's lacky. Our PM is in Saudi for last nine days doing "Umrah" while our nation is fighting a war against the foreign sponsored mercenaries in waziristan. For them to support the people of Gaza in any shape or form is next to impossible. Pakistan needs a nationalist, independent and free from all outside influences type leadership at the very top, in order to help itself and those who might need our assistance.

I wan't make it clear here that It is not Arab Nation or the people of the holy Land That are supporting Israel,It is in fact the puppet Regimes and the Fearing Kings of these nations that are supporting Israel aggression.

Egypt has an illegitimate ruler. He does not have the peoples mandate. This man has been installed as ruler by the Americans and Saudis. Sisi is just like the ousted Mubarak - same background.

It's not their fear of political Islam but democracy and people fighting for their rights. Arab countries like Saudia, Jordan and UAE have monarchies. Egypt's Morsi was ousted in U.S. orchestrated Egyptian military takeover. These states forget, their time will come too! Just like Pakistan and Afghanistan and Iraq and Libya, these countries will be bombed too! And then they will have no support!

This is the real reason the Muslim world is in a mess, all these rulers in the Arab world are not really interested in their countries they are only interested in keeping their own power. Non of these Arab countries have a real military they just have militias to keep dictatorship in power.

The only countries that can save Palestine is Iran and Turkey. The rulers of Saudi Arabia and other arab countries are supporters of Zionism. They are hypocrites. They call themselves muslims but look at their deeds. They are hypocrites indeed.

As the saying goes. Islam is the best religion and Muslims are the worst followers. This one line describes everything what is going on in the entire Muslim world.

For a minute look at the whole picture. ISIS, Hamas and all these other fundamentalist groups are trying to push Islam over the cliff. They are in-fact responsible of hundreds of deaths and forcing an out right war on our basic rights. They are the worse then barbarians and I will stand with anyone who is helping me getting rid of this evil. If we open our eyes than Isreal is doing what we all should be doing to bury this evil forever. In the fight between good versus evil, innocent die.

pakistan is the biggest servant to the US. They use drones to kill our ppl every day and we happily bend over whenever they show us the dollar. I am ashamed to be a Muslim.

  4. Netanyahu is no fool. He knows. But he is fighting two wars at once.

On one hand he's making sure Hamas' planned "summer offensive" does not materialize. Israel is simply too small to take that risk. Zero strategic depth means near-zero tolerance for risks like that.

On the other hand, he's fighting a war of opinion in the West, especially Europe, where centuries-old anti-Semitism is coloring how many of them view this conflict. Israel may physically exist in the ME but it is culturally a Western nation and it can't afford to alienate much of the Western world.

After all, this conflict will end at some point and then there will be that whole business of governing to look after.
