We need to know if the embassy in Jakarta allows co-sponsor. And is the co-sponsor needs to be a family member? can my fiancé's manager be our co-sponsor? Because he's willing too
I got this a while ago from the embassy:
Dear Ms. Izzylove11,
Thank you for writing to US Visa Service Desk.
In regard to your concern, kindly be informed that co-sponsor is not accepted for fiance visa application.

Thanks guys. I didn't think I needed it but I wanted to be sure.

What are you complaining about? I am a Jan NOA1 and was approved 2 weeks ago. There are still people from Dec and Jan that were transfered to TSC that are still waiting for their NOA2 approval. Yes, it is unfair. March and April should go to back of line and wait until their turn
I think everyone here has a right to complain. The system is seriously flawed and people are venting about that. May filers that are being approved are ahead of me too but I am still happy for them. I am an April filer who was trying to get an expedite due to serious illness of our child but I was denied. Another girl on here was given an expedite because she was going to lose money on a cruise they booked. Fair? No, it's not. I think we still have a right to say how we feel.

I could not seem to find a clear answer on this:
Do we need a police certificate for the Jakarta Embassy? I read somewhere that they don't require that anymore but I was going to get Fiance on it if they do. You guys know how "fast" the Indonesian government likes to work.
Thank you all in advance!!

Well, that's good. And if you want, you can bring copy of the email they sent you as a proof that they allow co-sponsor, because i'm planning to do that, just in case
I need a copy of the email. LOL. I didn't get a reply back to mine. I make plenty but I didn't work the last two years, so I was bringing a co-sponsor just in case my employment history wasn't long enough.

Hi there,
US citizens living abroad do need to file a US tax return every year, even though many will not have a tax liability in the US. Just go ahead and file for 2012. If you e-file it should be processed quickly, and then get a tax return transcript (free) from the IRS.
Good luck!
I should file a tax return even if I had no income? I did not have an income overseas.
-
Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing well. I have a question about my tax returns that need to be submitted. I am sure there's an answer here somewhere but I'm not sure where.
QUESTION: I was living overseas in 2012, so I do not have an income tax return for that year. Do I need a statement from the IRS or do I just write something stating I did not have a tax return during that year? I make good money at my current job and the job I had before I moved overseas. I just don't know what to do about that specific year.
Thank you for your time. I wish you all well on your journey. I am praying it goes quickly and smoothly for us all.

Yay! I'm so happy for you! I got transferred today.

I got the same message. I filed April 8, as well. I guess we will see if it's good news lie most of the others. Good luck guys!
-
I'm an April filer, as well. NOA1 received April 8. No news yet but I am hopeful that we will all be hearing something soon!
-
Thank you guys. It seems Jakarta is quicker than most other embassies, which means, I better get everything done quickly. Our NOA1 was April 8, so if things keep moving the way they have been, we will have an NOA2 in a couple of months. I hope!!!!
-
We have not received our NOA2 yet but, after reading on Visa Journey, I noticed that most people say the interviews take around 2 months to get. I was looking on the US Embassy Jakarta's website and it said appointment times were 3 days out. Am I missing something? said for non-immigrant visas. I'm confused as to how Jakarta could be so much quicker than other emabssies. Am I reading wrong?

God will see you through everything, may you and your daughter get well soon,i will keep you in my prayers
Thank you so much! I believe everything will be just fine. I can't wait for this nightmare to be over for us all!

I am not sure if any of you remember me because I don't post a lot here but a while back, I applied for an expedite based on my daughter's medical problems. She currently receives many different therapies and facets of medical care due to a brain bleed from birth. We were denied because USCIS felt that we did not meet the criteria to expedite. Since that happened, we have been living life as usual....until last Friday. I went to have my yearly "girly" check up and the doctor found a lump in my breast, which is very concerning. I need to have surgery in about a week to remove it. I became very upset, as you can imagine. I decided that I would fight to get my fiance here and fight for all of you also. I called my congressman, which didn't really get me anywhere. Washington DC is just too big for anyone to really care, I guess. I faxed a letter and a release of information to him that same evening. Monday morning, I still had not heard anything, so I sent an email. Wouldn't you know, I got a call from my congressman yesterday (Tuesday evening). He asked me to explain what has been going on and why I felt I deserved "special" attention. I explained to him about my daughter's medical condition and my new problem. I also explained that everyone in this group has been put through hell by USCIS. I asked him to read some of the posts here. The congressman contacted me again. I am going to meet him Saturday for coffee! He wants to hear all about the immigration issues and how I was treated by the representative I spoke to. I am so excited. I hope it helps us all. Prayers that this works!

I signed it and added it to my FB page to be signed by all my friends.

As a Muslim American, I really resent the comment about needing to be taken to a hotel to prove the relationship is real. I feel that you are implying that everyone here does that except for you. FYI, there are many people here who don't go to hotels with their fiances. There are many here who actually wait until they are married. The rules are clear. You need to have met your fiance within the last two years or to be able to give a clear reason why you couldn't. You were able to visit three years ago, but suddenly, you are not able to visit for religious reasons? The USCIS could see right through that and that's why you were denied. I hope you are able to get your visa approved soon. Good luck.

I sent the request to expedite based on medical illness. It's been 5 days today since they received it. I'm nervous. My case status hasn't changed at all. It doesn't even show it's been received. I received my NOA1 on April 8th.

Yay!! Congratulations!

You should hear a response back in 5 business days, as stated on the USCIS website.
Thanks. I didn't see it but my internet keeps messing up every time I try to get on their website.

As some of you may know, I filed a request to expedite my fiance's visa based on medical necessity. We have a daughter who has been quite ill and requires many therapies and some pretty extensive medical care. I received a notice for further information, so I submitted that yesterday. Does anyone know how long it will take for them to make a decision on the expedite? Having a sick child and working alone is proving to be too difficult for a single mom. She needs her dad and so do I! Please pray for our expedite to get approved. Normally, I would never try to "cut in line" but I really think this situation warrants it. I wish you all much luck on your visa journey!

Actually if your case is straightforward you are better off doingit yourself. Leaving your fate in the hands of others is risky. There have been more people denied for the attorney
not filling things out correctly, ommiting forms, or outright denied in Lagos for just filing like they do in regular countries. I have been on VJ for years and have seen as many failures at the hands of attorney filed petitions as at the hands of regular people and there is no increase in speed no matter that they claim. You are reviewed in the order recieved .
I agree. Attornies dont put as much thought into a case as you will. If your case is straight forward, do it your self. Look online to find out how the attornies put it together. It's not rocket science. Prepare it in an organized fashion and you should be fine. My application was accepted within a week and I did it myself. PM me if you need any guidance. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have! Good luck!

Good luck with everything! The list here was very helpful for me. I did exactly as Inky said. I printed the list and check marked everything as I added it to the packet. Make sure you add as much evidence of your relationship as possible!

Thanks guys! I feel better now. I figured I would receive the NOA1 within just a few days so I was getting a little alarmed. This has been emotionally draining since we had to wait 1.5 years just to get the court to produce a divorce decree that should have been done years ago. Whew....getting closer!

My check for the I129f was cashed today. Does that mean I should receive the NOA1 soon? Are there cases where they cash the check and then don't accept the application? I know no one can't guarantee it will be approved, I just don't want them to send my packet back. Sorry, I'm so nervous. My little girl and I really need daddy here to help deal with these medical issues!
Approved VSC to TSC, April filer
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
I received a notification today around 3pm Central time that our application was approved. Our NOA1 was April 10. We are so excited!
I had not heard anything on Friday, so I submitted a request to look at my file because I heard that a lot of Texas transfers were approved but it was not being shown on the USCIS website. The tier 1 rep would not let me speak to a tier 2 rep but said she could submit the request. She told me that I would receive a reply in 3-5 business days about whether the case had been approved or was truly still pending. Today, I got the notice that it had been approved!
God is so good!
Thank you all for the support. We could not have done it without the VJers.
I am praying for you all!
Now.....to figure out the next step....
