I had the same problem. I just wrote "please see attachment" for the address and typed in "0000" for the phone number. I then attached a PDF file (most companies let you do that in the end of the online application) with the contact information of my references.
Ugh, online applications are such a pain for applicants! I still remember all the hours I spent typing and re-typing my info into each different company system.
Thank you guys! It really is a pain and I really don't see passing up such great opportunities because of a technical issue. I am going to try the PDF thing and see if that will work. Thanks again!

Thank you Jannapa. I was getting a little worried!
hey, izzylove,
my EAD went through Knoxville too, but I got it three days after mailing (weekend included), so expect it any time soon:)

what is ur husbands occupation?
Skyview, my husband is in IT.
Also, we were given a tracking number by immigration for USPS when they mailed the card. For some reason, it's been stuck in Knoxville since 3/11. The lady at the post office said immigration documents usually sit there for 2-3 weeks before being mailed to the final destination. I don't understand this at all and I've never heard of this.

We have spoken to several companies who have provided no other option than online apps. 2 of the companies are once in a lifetime opportunities. I really don't want to pass them up. I guess I will have to call them again and see if a resume could be an alternative.

- We received an update today that our card will arrive by March 13. I'm so excited but finding a job has been hard since hubby has no references here in the USA. I am trying to figure out a way around online applications without US references.
-
How do you go about applying for employment in your specialty area when it asks for professional references and the address and phone number for the reference has to be inside the USA. Also, you can't skip it because it's a required field on online apps. Thanks in advance!!

actually u will receive ur EAD a month after ur RFE. So i have it hopefully by the end of the month.
There is no set time to receive your EAD after an RFE. We should have the card in a few days from now. From what others have said, it shouldn't take the whole month to receive it. I hope not at least!

I had an RFE that I mailed back on Feb 8 and was received by USCIS on Feb 11. I'm curious how much longer before we hear some news on the case. We did biometrics on Jan 17 but our appointment was supposed to be Jan 31. I am nervous because of the RFE. I'm ready to hear something!

I love in Arkansas and my husband can't get a drivers license extended past the expiration of his I94. We tried everything but there's no way around it. We have to wait on the EAD to get a new license.
-
How do I do that? When I sent the RFE, I had to include a barcode page they sent me. Can I literally just mail it with the case number?
I have spent a lot of time replaying what I sent. I used the guide from here and I didn't see where it mentioned sending my BC. I did send my husbands though.
I hope everything hurries for us all! I'm so tired of this!
Hey izzy
Isn't it funny how what we sent from what we didn't send is constantly playing in our minds like a scratched record. Don't stress they may not notice if you get the donut eater who couldn't careless what you put from what you didn't put as long as he gets his lunch break. You could consider mailing it in anyway to save yourself a rfe. I know I remember putting passport copy in along with the UK biometric page and the US visa page. I remember thinking when I was doing it what a waste of paper they already had this info in the k1 but I put it in anyway. If the forms could talk they would say when you provide the evidence pretend I am a idiot so treat me like one. Pretend I don't know nothing about your immigration status. That's what I did put it all in and I am now going to wait to see what donut finds a flaw in my evidence. Heck I even put a note regarding the medical form why it's incomplete. The reasons being it was not flue season and wrote in laymen's terms an explanation of there exemption policy just incase the donut didn't know the rules lol. I believe they want you to spell everything out for them.
On a serious note you might want to consider mailing it out anyway you have nothing to loose right!

Omg! I didn't send proof of my citizenship. I sent my husbands (beneficiary) but I didn't send mine. Do you think we will get a second RFE! I thought my citizenship was already verified during the K1 stage. I must have skipped over reading that part.

Provide a statement that states just that. You did not file taxes for 2012 because you did not meet the income threshold to be legally obligated to file under IRS Pub. 17. You can also let them know you have not yet filed your 2013 taxes but are proving them a copy of your 2013 W-2.
Thank you so much! I just wanted to make sure we didn't get get a second RFE.

hi
you needed to send a letter not from the irs but by you explaining why you didn't file 2012 taxes.
do you have a joint sponsor?
No. We don't have a joint sponsor. I make enough money. I just wasn't in the country in 2012, so I had no income.

Hi guys! Today we received the paper RFE from USCIS. It says:
Please submit a complete Federal Income Tax return submitted to the IRS from the form I864, Affadavit of Support, for the most recent tax year.
We sent our application in December, so that would be the year 2012. I sent a letter from the IRS to USCIS when we filed stating that I had no income for the year 2012; therefore, there was no return. The next line of the letter from USCIS says:
If you were not required to file a Federal income tax return under U.S. tax law, please provide a statement stating why you are exempt and/or provide evidence of the exemption and why you are subject to it.
Can anyone tell me what I should do since I already sent the documentation that the IRS gave me stating why I didn't file? Should I provide a letter plus additional years? I could also provide my W2 from this year but I haven't filed my return yet.
Thanks for any help you guys can give me!

I am hearing you there. Two incomes = awesomeness... (and more shoes..ha ha)
I also looking forward to meeting new people. My hubby gets ear blasted when he comes home everyday because I haven't spoken to a soul all day long. Once this son-of-a-polar vortex eases off I will be able to walk out and about and stalk the local folks at the library to give him a break....
Have an excellent day!
I understand the being lonely part. I'm just crossing my fingers that we all get through this very quickly!

I just received a notification for an RFE too. I'm not sure why just yet. It's either for medical or my last years tax returns. Either way, we will get whatever they ask for and fax it back. I also heard some people got an RFE for not submitting an original marriage certificate. I hate that we got the RFE but I'm thinking it means the EAD will come quickly after we submit the evidence.
-
Okay. Thank you. I just wanted to double check. I think the RFE is for the medical part but I'm just guessing. Everything else was front loaded but I didn't have a lot to send for medical.
-
I just received a message from USCIS. It was an RFE for the I485. We submitted the request for work authorization at the same time. Will the RFE affect the EAD? We haven't gotten the letter yet so we don't know what the RFE is for just yet.
-
I'm getting so anxious for the work permit. It's going to be so nice to finally have 2 incomes. Still no word from USCIS. With the K1, it seemed we always got notifications at night or on the weekend. Maybe we will hear something in the next week.

submitted all AOS/EAD/AP January 2nd..
received NOA for AOS/EAD on Jan 24th...long time to get to california..
AP was rejected then resubmitted Jan 22nd..still no word about it..
no biometrics appt yet...
How do you go about doing a walk in without an apt? it that advisable? the local office is 5 min away from my place so im just wondering if thats a good idea
There is an entire post on here somewhere. I'm not sure an early walkin would benefit you if you live close. I'm thinking you keep your original place in line even if you do it early. we only attempted it because we were going to be there anyway. We weren't sure they would even let us. We just explained the situation and they let us do it. I think it depends on the office you are trying. Our office is small and there was no one there but us.
I have to admit that I had planned to do an early walkin a long time ago but then decided to wait until the appointment date. Then, I got a call for an interview in the same town so I decided to give it a go.
-
I haven't used an attorney for any of it. This part is easier than the K1 IMO. I really don't think you need an attorney. I used the sample forms here as a guide for filling my forms.
-
I got my NOA1 on Jan 6, if I'm not mistaken and had biometrics on the 17th. Our appointment for biometrics wasn't supposed to be until Jan 31 but we did an early walkin and they let us. The office is 3 hours away and we were already there so we tried. I wonder if early walkin speeds anything up....

I'm not sure about the immigration end but I do know a lot about ectopic pregnancies. It is not safe to fly right now. First, the pressure changes can affect your body. You could easily bleed out in an hour. It happened to me. I had to have 10 units of blood and CPR twice on the operating table. DO NOT FLY! You can go to a not for profit hospital and have the surgery then ask for a write off for hardship. People do it all the time. Pay $5/month on your bill if you have to but do not fly. You could bleed out in the air and no one could do a thing about it. Have you asked the doc about methotrexate? Is it too late? Please message me if you have any questions. I do this for a living and I'm 100% sure that you are not okay to fly with an ectopic pregnancy.
Who is the petitioner?

My friend is filing the ROC for her husband. Who is considered the petitioner and who is the applicant? Sorry if this has been posted. I could not find a clear answer. Thank you!
