  1. Case completed : December 12, 2013

    Interview Letter : december 13, 2013

    Interview date : January 30, 2014

Thank god getting close to the process.

Have one question if someone can help. My wifes beneficiary ID is different in the Interview letter from what we got the first time file moved to NVC. Is this normal? do they change beneficiary ID during the process?

Thanks and good luck to all my brothers and sisters.

  2. So we won't receive any checklist from NVC?

    Thanks for the reply

When you submit the Package IV or civil documents without the PCC you will get a checklist that they need PCC. you can apply for PCC and take it with you during the interview. I did talk to supervisor three different days just to verify and they all said you can take PCC with you at the time of interview.

like all things indian, it will depend on who you talk to unsure.png . Some officers will ask for the NVC letter, some won't (and some won't know the difference between NOA1, NOA2, NVC letter, ...). my wife got the PCC without showing any letters, good luck.

My wife tried to get PCC done based on NOA2 and letter from NVC (nothing was mentioned about PCC in the letter though) but the Ahmedabad office did not give PCC. She had to go back once I got the checklist.

  3. My Thai wife and I are I130 CR1 August filers. She informed me today that she wants to change her first name for good luck. I told her that this is a bad idea while our I130 application is pending. I said she should wait until after she gets her visa, but she really wants to change her first name now. Does anyone on the group have any thoughts on this subject? Do you know of anyone who has changed their first name while their I130 application is pending? I would appreciate any of your thoughts or experiences. Thank you.

She can change her first name in the court and get certificate from court, Get affidavit of two people and get new passport.

At the NVC stage her Visa will be issued to the name that is in her new passport and she can use the new name.

  4. Help. I am confused. We sent all the original documents to NVC that was required. My husband has been insisting he still needs to bring the originals with him. I kept telling him no but then I read the letter we recieved again and it states. "Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are

still required to bring the original document to the visa interview." Do we need to spend the money to get certified copies of everything to bring with him even if they already have the originals? UGG. This is making me crazy. We only have 11 days left til the interview I dont know if I will make it that long with my sanity Thanks again for your help.

NVC will send your husband a letter stating which documents are needed. If you submitted original at the NVC stage you will not need to bring original. However it is recommended by NVC to carry copy of every documents.

Your husband can carry the copy of all originals.

  5. Thanks for your reply.

So, I am mainly concerned with the Petitioner i-864 part of your response. We can write a letter explaining she did not have to file taxes as she was a full time student, provide evidence of her being enrolled overseas, and her father (joint sponsors) 1040 claiming her as dependant, and perhaps receipts for payments made to her university (dont have student loans). I spoke to a friend who's an accountant, he suggested I could also file form 4506-T to receive Verification of Nonfiling. I guess I should do that considering how particular they are being about this.

And yeah, the other checklist is for civil docs, I did scan & send my passport copy, I guess I'll send in a scanned copy of citizenship card also

Only problem with the form 4506T is that it can take up to 10 business days sad.png

I think you can start process for 4506T and also send the clarification to NVC explaining why your wife did not file taxes. Add evidence of something showing that she is in school. she is also listed as dependent in her fathers tax forms. Highlight SSN and send those. I think they will accept it. Meanwhile if they don't accept it then you might get checklist for 4506T which you can send later.

  6. Petitioner i-864: You must submit the following financial evidence:

I would suggest to prove that your wife was a student. She probably got something at the end of the year for her studant loan. She can add letter that explains in detail.

Joint Sponsor i-864: This is petitioner's father.

I had the same problem. I listed adjusted gross income on my 1040. I had to correct it to the total income on I 864EZ form( which is line 22 on 1040 I think)

    BENEFICIARY CHECKLIST:

    Is this for Civil documents?

I think passport should be sufficient to prove you have canadian Citizenship but if they asking I would suggest to send a copy of Citizenship certificate as well.

  7. one doc was missing on the day of interview , then I submitted required doc to embassy as requested.

Also, reached out to senator to inquire further , and embassy replied they don't require any more docs.

Ever since then it has been in AP for CR1.

How long its been since you submitted the document? IF you just submitted it they might be verifying the document if there is a reason.

  8. Good evening all

I just paid the IV processing fee, but thanks to it being Friday it won't be processed until probably Tuesday, so in the meantime, a quick question.

Is the DS-260 the same exact form as the DS-230, just the online format? If so, in the sworn statement portion of the DS-230 it refers to the petitioner's information. I'm taking it that the petitioner is the applicant (non-USC), am I correct?

    Thanks

Petitioner is the US citizen and beneficiary is the non US Citizen.

  9. My husbands name is yashpal and on all documents it is like this but on visa it shows fnu as first name unknown. So has anyone had any problem booking a ticket or travelling for first time with this problem?

What is his passport showing as his first name? What did the DS 230 form was showing as his first name?

If Given name or Surname is blank in passport , they will use FNU on the visa. This will not affect your husbands entry to USA but it might affect later on when he will need his first name to get something such as driving license or may be opening a bank account?

  10. Hi I am applying permanent resident for my mother and almost ready to file all the complicated paper works.

But before I send them I have confusion about I-864ez.

Do I still need to type NONE or N/A?

Or should I just leave them blank if questions are not applicable such as SSN or resident address??

Instruction for I-864ez only said type with all CAPITAL letters but doesn't mention anything else.

Can someone who have filed I-864ez (not I-864) give me an advice??

    Thank you!!

Type N/A at resident address if it is same as mailing address. Know a case where NVC returned I-864ez for correction due to that.
