  1. Just got our NOA2 approval tonight. Celebrated a bit but now we Have work to do for the interview. I've read the reviews about The embassy in Ukriane. It seems it gets very high ratings. Anything anyone wants to share about their interview process would be appreciated. I've read that most interviews are only a few questions and read where some people barley had all the paperwork the brought as evidence looked at. Thanks for all your help!

  2. The debate on original signatures or scanned copies continues. My friend used scanned copies and got approved. And I have read here where scanned copies were denied. I think it depends on who adjudicates your case. Unfortunately it's up to them. I believe it's safer to use originals but in our instance Vika was unavailable to send the original for a couple weeks so we went ahead with the submission. Hoping for one of the more lax adjudicators for us :). Anyway I'll update once I hear something, either an RFE or an NOA2 approval. We shall soon find out. But to be clear no matter what it does not need to be notarized. Best of luck on your jounrey and be patient as this process is not quick, especially when wait for a loved one to join you. It makes the process seem twice as long.

  3. NYC. Sometimes I feel that half the city is RUB. Everywhere you go someone is speaking Russian.

Vika is going to be flying into New York and we will spend a long weekend there (my first visit as well) before coming home. We have a few things planned, including Ellis Island where my great grandparents came through when they came to the states from Ireland. No piles of paperwork for them though I'm sure! Figured it would be fitting place to visit considering the circumstances)). Any other recommendations outside the normal tourist places that we should visit?

  4. Doobietoo...we just got transfered on july 10th. Still waiting for NOA2. So I know I've still got some time. Just praying they figure out the backlog to NVC soon.

Has anyone called Texas? And spoke to a tier 2? It seems VSC and CSC have not had any problems getting cases over the NVC. It appears to be a Texas specific problem

Ill try and keep this topic front and center until there is a solution and people start getting moved. Best of luck to everyone in this extended waiting game.

  5. We finally got Vika's ex-husband to agree to let Kirill come with her. We thought it was going to be a tough battle but after some talks all worked out. The help we need is what do we need to have him sign. I emailed the embassy but no response so I was hoping to see if anyone here has gone through this. From what I can gather its a notarized letter stating something to the affect of "he is allowed to accompany his mother and move to the states". In have also read we need a copy of the fathers internal Ukrainian passport. Any help with the wording of this letter and also what language it should be in, and any other requirements would be appreciated so much. It's a shame to not get a response from the embassy but this community has been, and will continue to be a lifesaver. Thanks in advance.

  6. Well at first I was excited to get transfered because they were working the cases so quickly down in Texas. But now it is a bit scary with nobody, from what I can tell by igors list, moving on to the NVC. Hopefully they figure it out soon for you all with NOA2 in hand. And by the time vika and I are approved (knock on wood) it will be running smoother. Good luck to you all!

  7. Just curious as to where everyone in the RUB forums are from in the states. Vika is not here yet..sigh... but it would be nice for some of us that live close to each other to give our spouses a taste of home and language. I am from Baton Rouge, La and there doesn't seem to be a big population of RUB's here. So if you are up for sharing, post your hometown and state, or closest big city and maybe we can even plan some events if any of us are close enough. I know if I was in a foreign country, no matter how well I adjusted, a sense of home and language would be refreshing from time to time.

  8. I have a question. In Ukraine my Fiancés son is listed in her passport. This is how they do it there apparently as a cost saving measure. Will we have problems with K1/K2 with him not having his own passport? We are 3 months into our wait so I guess if needed there is still time to move on this. Any insight will be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Brent and Vika

  9. It seems that NOA2's out of CSC have almost stopped form what i have seen in other threads. Lets hope they figure it out soon for anyone waiting on CSC. Processing delays seem to bounce back and forth between CSC and VSC. If you do a search you will see that the same thing happened in vermont, then they started to get moving agian. Best of luck to everyone still waiting.
