We had our interview on the 12th. When they called my wife up, I stayed behind thinking she'd need to go in on her own. BUT the agent asked me to come, too, because they were going to do the I-751 lifting of conditions interview as well!* So there I was, nervous, because I wasn't prepared to be interviewed personally. She asked us about trips we took recently and asked for proof of our marriage -- and thankfully we had brought along three different credit card and bank cards with our names on them, which she took as evidence.
*We filed for the lifting of conditions i-751 in January 2017. When the window for its processing passed, we scheduled an infopass appointment and got an i551 stamp in her passport to travel. This was in September. The n400 interview was scheduled in November.
She approved the i-751 and then asked my wife if it was okay for me to be in the room during her n400 interview, which she said yes to. I couldn't help but grin as she aced the six questions -- "How many members of the U.S. House are there?" "Who is the Chief Justice of the United States?"
The agent laughed when she was done because she saw me smiling and thought it was funny. She then asked about how we met, etc. I was silent during the n400 interview. It took all of ten minutes or so. The agent told us that she would need to approve the i751 first and then the n400 and we should expect to hear from them in two to three weeks about the date of her Oath Ceremony.
It was wild. Felt like a big weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Almost six years to the day we first filed for the k1 visa, and here we are. Now to wait for the oath ceremony. I received an email this morning that there has been a "recent processing action" taken on the case. Hopefully that means they're finishing up the n400 and will schedule the oath soon. We're hoping for January. Fingers crossed!

Anyone file their n400 while i751 lifting of conditions is pending? We did in January of this year, filed our i751 in January of 2017.... still haven't heard a word from that one and its been 20 months now. We went to the USCIS field office and received an i551 stamp and were told that they won't even look at the n400 until the i751 is completed. What gives? Anyone else having this problem? Do you hear about the i751 first before the n400? Getting really frustrated...

By the way, my wife just received her 18 month extension letter this week, so they are sending them out, little by little. However, I believe the 18 month extension is from 18 months of the green card expiration. If that is indeed the case, then it might not do you much good as you're already 12 + 5 months past the green card expiration.
Again, get the i551 stamp. Can you look at an infopass appointment at another field office? I believe there are several in SoCal, right?
There are at least three within reasonable driving distance but all are "currently unavailable." Just refreshing and prob try again at midnight.. or prob walk-in tomorrow.

Hi, we've been waiting for the I-751 extension since January of last year, and we have filed our citizenship papers in the meantime. We just learned of a family emergency overseas, and our one year extension letter is expired by five months. I've looked at getting an infopass appointment and am frustrated that there are never any available appointments in the LA field office. What are we to do? Can we travel like this? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Received a notice that our I-751 was transferred to the National Benefits center, but still waiting on any movement from the Citizenship stuff... :/

I wonder if the biometrics/background check/review length is based on what is on your FBI record. The process may take longer if you have any arrests.
Looks like ours changed to the same as yours last night, and our timeframe says 10 months now.

Had biometrics appointment this morning, 2 minutes after we received about four texts and emails on updates to our case. Currently "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" -- hopefully we see some real progress soon!

A half weekday to spare and time at midnight to f5 a million times to see if an appointment opens up! Eugggh

Gatwick - the Norwegian Air staff didn't look like they recognised the letter, but they accepted it without question. My boarding card had a note on it (that I assume was manually added) stating 'Green card exp has ext letter". I had to present this letter 3 times - ones in the checkin line for the security stamp on the passport, one at the actual checkin, and once when boarding the plane itself.
Denver - I was automatically directed to the electronic machines to scan the green card by the assistants there, who wasn't surprised that it didn't take (Errored, said document expired, directed me to manual screening with an actual person). I took this slip, my passport, green card, extension letter and customs declaration to the CBP checkpoint and wasn't asked a single question. Let me in without hassle.
Exactly our experience, too, coming to and from Gatwick into Los Angeles.

So the letter expires in April, god knows when our AOS will be approved as we're in the CSC. With no plans to leave the country, and having just applied for Citizenship, is the stamp in the passport necessary?

Applied for the n400 this month, still waiting on approval for this but not going to delay it because I know this will probably take another 2-3 months anyway... also, DACA certainly is slowing down the California branch but had Congress addressed the issue last year like they said they would, this wouldn't have been an issue. Everything slow down on Jan. 20, 2017 for some unknown reason... *cough*

Our estimated time of approval is 12 months, we're at the LA field office. Anyone know if this estimate is reasonable, too short or too long? Trying to get a feel of how long to actually expect..

Received the physical NOA yesterday in the mail which had our online account access, and today saw the biometrics document online. Doesn't look like they've cashed the check yet. Says it's been sent to the Harrisonburg Storage Center for processing, wherever that is.

Still waiting on any word if the USCIS received the package... still says 'delivered' even though I sent it Certified Mail, which I had assumed would tell me who picked it up and when. Looks like Bella and I are in the same boat, having sent it to Phoenix, so fingers crossed something happens soon or I'll be calling the USPS tomorrow or Friday to complain.
