Maybe you could call USPS and check on the discrepancy? I'm just like you and like being able to see all the documents which is why I sent by mail but getting frustrated too because i think the process gets slightly longer (cashing check etc. when we send it by mail). Hopefully it got delivered to the right address and you'll get the NOA in the next few days!

A quick search has turned up several instances similar to my own. I'm going to give it a day or two and see what happens and then call. Due to the holiday, things are a little slower.

  2. Annoyed because I sent the packaged last Wednesday to the USCIS Phoenix PO box via the address they provide on their website, which shows 85036 zip code, and USPS says it was "delivered" to 85034. What the heck does that mean? Just hoping someone from USCIS gets it and we get a notification soon. I like sending by mail because I like being able to physically touch everything, it gives me peace of mind.. but this isn't making me any less anxious!

  3. Hi everyone, long time lurker and some time poster. I feel like we've been on a journey together and today my wife received notice that her card is in production! You're actually the first people we're telling about this. It's an unreal feeling and a massive weight off of our backs.

Now my question is -- we applied for the EAD/AP renewal about two weeks ago and actually received the NOA's yesterday! How will they process that now or will they just ignore it?

Hope everyone is doing well and hang in there!

  4. EAD renewal requires only a copy of the front and back of the current EAD, together with a copy of your I-485 receipt NOA show it's still pending.

    So just:

    - Copy of EAD/AP card front and back

    - Copy of I-485 NOA1

    - I-131 & I-765 forms filled out

    - Passport photos for each

Would that do it? I've been seeing conflicting lists all over the place... We've got the passport photos and everything else ready to go.

  5. At this point we're just along for the ride.

We spoke with a Tier 2 person who, later in an email, told us that our case couldn't be expedited for work reasons. Well, we never ASKED for it to be expedited on work reasons, we asked for it to be expedited because it's outside of the normal processing time!

So we submitted another case inquiry and I've written my Congresswoman.

  6. Good news! My wife called back today to check on the status because our clerk told us to check back again in 5 days -- well, it's really only been two but that put us over the 10 days thing.

Left a message and he called back this afternoon saying that he ran the application again and it went through! He said it could take up to 10 days to generate a number, but he'll call her when it does because he gets a notice when they're generated!

Sorry for the previous message, I was numb at the dentist. Anyway, here's hoping that number comes soon! Exclamation mark!

  7. My fiancee first arrived in the US on Feb 1, we were married on Feb 23 and a few days later we went to apply for an SSN. We brought her I-94, Passport and Visa with entry stamp, and our marriage certificate and her birth certificate... and we were denied. The guy didn't really know what to do with the materials and said it would take a week or so before we heard back and when we did it was a letter saying that they couldn't give her a number.

So we decided to wait until we received the EAD, and now we're just about to head back to the office with the card, her passport and just to be sure, our marriage certificate and her birth certificate.

On the application, it asks "Has the person listed in item 1 or anyone acting on his/her behalf ever filed for or received a Social Security number card before?" There's a box for yes, no and 'don't know.' We applied, obviously, but never received the card because she was denied.

Do we put don't know in that box or just no?

    Thanks for the help...

  8. Hooray, we've been approved for the EAD and AP as of yesterday! My question here is this: we need to travel to Florida from California this coming October. Her EAD/AP card will no doubt have her married name, but her passport will have her maiden name. Should I book the flight using the Passport or the AP for a domestic flight?

I've read that international flights will require the passport to match the ticket, but I'm unsure about domestic.

    Thanks for the advice!
