  1. Hi, I hope things wen forward for you; so, any updates? I am in the same boat! -Thanks

My husband finally received news this past Saturday via mail. We have our interview June 29th!!

It was a surprise because I have been checking the status online and even today it still shows they received the RFE response! Weird! I say keep your eyes glued to your email and mail. Good luck and I hope you hear something soon!

  2. Has anyone here put a service request 60 days after USCIS received RFE response? Did anything meaningful happen as a result? In my case, it will be 60 days soon, and I wonder if I should put an inquiry on my I-485, on which I had the RFE. I am currently out of state. So no Infopass for me!

We are in the same situation. They received the RFE response on March 4....so we're going on 90 days!

    :(

  3. Good afternoon,

My husband filed his AOS on Jaiary 4, 216 and in Fenruary received an RFE.

We sent back what was requested and the online ISCIS updates says they've received it - March 4, 2016 - and still we are here waiting (im)patiently.

When do we start to worry? Should we worry? Its been a little over 60 days since they've received it so I'm not sure what's taking so long.

    Anyone in this same situation?

  4. For those of you who had received RFE for some reason or another, how long did it take after 'RFE received' to change to 'ready for interview'? It is now 30 days since my RFE response for I-485 was received, and there has been no movement since.

    Here.

We sent my husband's AOS packet January 4, received an RFE February and USCIS received our response March 4th and still hasn't changed. Going on 60 days and nothing. The RFE was for the I-485 green card. He's already received his EAD/AP card.

  5. I had RFE on my I-485 as well, and I was told by USCIS that if the status does not change within 60 days of USCIS receiving the RFE response, I should call and put an inquiry. So, you could put inquiry on May 9th if there is no status change until then.

April 4th marks 30 days that USCIS has received my husband's RFE response for his I-485.

If we don't hear anything by May 4th, we will definitely be putting in an inquiry.

  6. My husband and I moved and we are waiting to hear about his GC/I-485.

How do we go about updating our new address?

I know there's a way to file the AR-11 online, where my husband updates his info plus states that he has a pending application.

Also, my understanding is that my mother and I each have to file our own I-865 Sponsor's Notice of Change of Adress form since I'm his sponsor and she's the joint sponsor and we're all living in the same home.

    Is this accurate?

Are these the only things we are to do to update the address?

    Thanks in advance!

  7. Congrats to all approved January Filers. It looks like these past three days have been with a lot of activity for the USCIS. Tons of approvals.

Do you guys know if after the RFE is received by the USCIS I will receive any NOA or receipt?

How long until I hear any news for my case? I've seen people here saying that will reset and other people that just delays couple of weeks.

    Any information is welcomed.

My husband got an RFE and sent it back (was received on March 4th), still no news. He has already received his AP/EAD card about a week ago.

I'm hoping there'll be some good news soon. I hope the time is only paused and they are working on it now.

  8. Our case was K-1; after getting EAD card, we applied and received the SSN card. However, on the SSN card, it prints "Valid for Work Only". What does that mean? And does that implicate that we have to do something to get that phrase removed when we receive the Green Card, and will we keep the same number after having the Green Card? Can we use this SSN number now to file tax return? Thanks very much for your comments/answers! Regards...

My husband has received his AP/EAD combo card and will now apply for his Social Security #.

When you applied, what documents did you need to take?

Passport, AP/EAD card, marriage certificate, passport?

  9. Congrats! I filed on Jan 4th too and other than biometrics, I have heard nothing from USCIS. Status check still shows "Case was received".

Hopefully some good news later this week.

*fingers crossed* you recieve news this week!

    Congrats @ fherjess

    Thank you ?

My address was updated about 3 week ago and still no update when I talked to level 2 support today. they still had our address missing on EAD application. lol

    I contacted congressman today.

    congrats!!!

    Thank you very much!! ?

  10. Now, does anyone know how to find out where your case is? Local office or NBS? I read that NBC cases often get interview waivers and local cases usually get interviewed.

    My current status says:

"we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status.

Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you."

This was on March 4th. I'm hoping we hear something soon. My husband filed his paperwork (k1) on January 4.

  11. Thanks TabeaK and themartinez. I will just try and be patient then. :-)

This news of receiving RFE really sucks. I really hope they don't want 2015 tax returns of my I-864 co-sponsor. My mother-in-law (the co-sponsor) tends to file taxes at the very last moment, and I donno how in the world I can make her file taxes a bit early, if I need to.

If the RFE has to do with the I-864 for your joint sponsor, they will most likely request that you send in the most recent tax return, in your case, it would be for the year 2014 because a) she has yet to file her 2015 taxes and b) the April 15th deadline hasn't passed yet.

So if she hasn't filed her 2015 taxes yet, her most recent taxes would be 2014.

We received an RFE for my husband's joint sponsor I-864 and the letter requested most recent tax return. The joint sponsor has already filed their 2015 taxes so they gave us a copy of their 2015 transcripts and we sent that.

Now we are waiting for any news.

Good luck! Hope the RFE is a quick and easy one to reply to.
