If you move, then your husband files the AR-11 online, and you must file the I-865 through the mail. If your joint sponsor moves, then they would need to send in an I-865 through the mail.
Sponsors that have provided an I-864 use the I-865 to notify the USCIS of address change within 30 days of moving.
Yes thank you!!
The immigrant files the AR-11, the sponsor files I-865.
Got it!

I understand that the joint sponsor must send in a AR-11 should they change Adress. It does not.
However....
This may be a dumb question but: if we move...does the spouse (me, the US citizen) also have to complete and send an I-865? Or does my husband filling out the AR-11 take care of me (his sponsor) as well?

It does not.
Thank you Kay!

I-865 has to be sent by mail, I believe.
Do you know by any chance if the form I-865 has barcodes at the bottom? I don't have access to a computer (only my iPhone) so I can't be sure if there's barcodes or not.
I want to be able to print it.
Thank you!!!

Congrats!
Good luck to you!

we went back today and were able to talk to an officer, who understood our situation and gave us an I-551 stamp. Our situation is that my wife is 6 months pregnant, and hasn't been home to see her family since December. Not the longest of times, but in October we had a miscarriage, and have been told that she should avoid flying later in the pregnancy. And now seats are filling up on planes, so having the option to purchase a ticket for the near future with confidence is a big relief for everyone. Btw, yesterday I was able to look on the USCIS site and see that her green card was granted, which inspired us to go to the USCIS office today in hopes of getting the stamp. Thank you all for your input and inspiration.
That's great news! I'm glad to see you were able to get the stamp and that the GC was approved!!
Best wishes to you & your family ?

Yes after two weeks we are checking almost every business days after 5.
Did you got your approval at the same day of your interview ? Did they told to you after the interview or they update in the site at the same day?
They didn't tell us we were approved at the interview. They only said they'd let us know of a decision within 2 weeks.
Later on that day, the IO actually called my mother to verify information my husband and I had given at the interview.
Then about 5 hours after our interview, the online status changed to "new card being produced".
Definitely keep checking online and the mailbox for the actual decision letter.
I wish I could give more advice but I'm not sure what would be the next step. 3 weeks is close to a month so hopefully you'll get some news soon.

Is it possible for you to return to your USCIS office where you had your interview and request the I-551 stamp in her passport? Can't they look up the info and see she was approved even though you don't have the NOA2 ?
-
After the interview was finish the agents told was that we should wait for a letter.
All the time in the interview. She was saying that IF you are aprove you shoul do this and that... And she didn't question a lot or ask for different kinds of proof. I was the one that told If she want to see this or that, and I talk about pictures and she was already up. Looking that the interview was over and since I talk about picture she ask to see. We could not know or feel that we were aprove. But has been more than 3 week and nothing. No letter or no update. This could mean something. How long we should wait. What we should do.
Have you looked up the case status on the USCIS website?

Hello everyone!
I have a question, I got my vaccinations transferred to I-693 (cuz i was missing 1 vaccine). In the clinic they gave me sealed envelope and filled out I-693 form (I didn't understand, I guess it is a copy of the I-693 that is already in the envelope?). Should I send just the envelope?
Yes. You keep the copy for your records and send the I-693 that is in the sealed envelope.

This is what they asked us at our interview: questions like who's who in the pictures we provided. My husband came here on a K1 visa and after a very long wait in the past month he has recieved his EAD/AP and now the interview date coming up on July 7th. Although they sent a letter of what we should bring a lot of it lists things then say (if not already sent/provided) .. through out this entire processed they have received more than enough information on our marriage/lives/finance etc..
Now my question is what should we expect at the interview and what should I bring those documents even though I have sent them in previously?
Also would they take in account that I'm currently pregnant?
How we met.
When and where the wedding took place. Who attended the wedding.
They also asked all the "yes/no" questions from the I-485 regarding criminal past, if you are a spy, terrorist, etc.
They asked my husband (the beneficiary) our address.
Our interview last at least 30 minutes.
Edited to add: I just now saw that today was your interview!! ?
-
hi! just wondering.. what did they ask for ypur supporting docs? ill be having my interview tomorrow.. i didnt have that much to bring .. hnmm
Regarding co-mingling, We didn't have much to show either. We had an affidavit (letter) from my mom stating that we are currently living with her and that the lease is in her name.
We also took a letter from our bank stating we share a checking account.
That's all we had. We also took over 40 pictures of us as well as pics that show my husband with some of my family members (he's adjusting his status, I'm a US citizen).
Take as much evidence you can think of.
Good Luck!!

We only sent in one G-325A for AOS, just for my husband since he was the one adjusting status, making him the petitioner. For K-1 we did do two though, one for myself, the USC (petitioner) and one for my husband (at the time fiance (beneficiary)).
I don't think it'd hurt to sent one for the USC spouse, but I don't believe it's required for AOS.
I agree. We only sent one G-325A for my husband since he was the one adjusting. I (the US citizen) was not required to send one.

My RFE is also related to I-864. Your case is a good example. I hope I get my EAD soon too. When did you send your papers to satisfy the RFE? I mean you got an RFE on Feb 3rd, when did you reply back?
I don't recall the exact date we mailed it but the status online said "on March 4th we recieved your response to an RFE...."
I do know we did wait about 2-3 weeks because we ended up waiting for the joint sponsor to file their income taxes and we sent in last year's tax transcript for the joint sponsor.

Hi VJs,
I filed form I-765 Employment Authorization Document along with my I-485 adjustment of status. Yesterday I got an RFE and I was told to submit some documents so my I-485 case can proceed. I want to know that will this RFE delay my EAD card too? by which I mean, is I-765 now dependent on I-485's processing since they were filed together?
Thank you!
My husband received an RFE on his I-485 packet, specifically for his joint sponsor. (It wasn't a complicated RFE to resolve)
Anyway, that RFE was on February 3rd.
On March 26th his EAD & travel permit was APPROVED.
Meanwhile, the status of the RFE was stuck on "we've received your response to an RFE..."
It was like that for 3 months and then on June 11th we recieves notice in the mail to appear at the interview.
I guess my point is that it really does depend. It appears that the RFE for the I-485 didn't affect my husband receiving his EAD/travel combo card.
Definitely send in your RFE response as soon as you can though.

We had our interview on Wednesday and saw the status online say "new card is being produced"
???
I feel so happy and relieved! My husband will be getting a 10 year permanent resident card
Good luck to everyone else that is awaiting their approval.
-
Fantastic ! congratulations
Thank you!
Congrat
Thanks a lot!
Did you have the waiver prior to your interview? If so did you have to redo fingerprints in mexico?
My husband did not recieve a waiver of any kind. He had biometrics done in Mexico for the K1 visa as well as biometrics here in the states for the green card and work/travel permit.

3 years after starting our journey and we can finally breathe easier!
We had our interview today at 8:30am and at 2pm I checked the status online and saw the words:
"New Card Is Being Produced". !!!!!!! ???
I will be writing a review of our interview shortly.
I just wanted to let people know that as long as everything is legitimate and you provide the information they request, you should have no problems.
Thank you to all the people that provide guidance and help. I feel like we would've been lost without VisaJourney!

Like I said, I have no personal experience, but him being family is not a problem (in the thread I linked USCIS would have let the husband interpret for the wife), so yes, your brother-in-law would work.
Give him a copy of the I-485, so he can see a part of what he has to translate (the yes or no questions are always asked at the interview).
Well. See, this is why I'm asking if I should even take an interpreter. I'm bilingual (English and Spanish).
My confusion came about because I wasn't sure if they'd accept me interpreting for him.
-
This guy did not take a designated interpreter, ended up not being able to interpret well enough (legal terms etc. I assume), he's awaiting denial and most likely will have to re-file.
Is my sister's husband considered my hisband's family?
(I'm the US citizen)
My brother in law is a Spanish teacher.
-
Yes, it's better to have a designated interpreter, other than yourself.
Thank you!
Is there anyone here that has had the interview that took (or didn't take) an interpreter but their sponsor wasn't 100% fluent in English??
Please!
-
My husband and I finally received an appointment letter for this June 29th at 8:30am.
On the letter it states in all caps that an interpreter would be needed if my husband doesn't speak English.
It states that it cannot be a family member. My husband isn't 100% fluent in English yet (he's learning still) .
Does this mean that I can't interpret for him? Do we need to take a person to interpret for him? Sorry if this is a dumb question :/

Hi there,my status is still the same it is more than 70 days since they received my RFE response.
Hello! This past Saturday June 11, my husband received the letter in the mail saying our interview is June 29th. Online USCIS still shows they received our RFE response.
I hope you hear something soon. Keep an eye out for any mail and email as well!

Hello!
While I'm not 100% sure, I recall seeing some members say they had received a second RFE for whatever reason. I'm not sure how that is possible but I guess it can happen.
I hope I helped. If not, please do create a topic with your question so that other members will be able to advise.
Good Luck!
