Sorry forgot to mention you need to file the N600

For CoC, you need proof that you were under 18, a green card holder and in the legal custody of your father.

This is what I'm going to send for my oldest daughter. 

1. Mother's CoN

2. Daughter's Birth Cert (with translation - original is in spanish)

3. Mother's Marriage Cert

4. Tax Returns

5. Daughter's School records

6. Daughter's - copy of Green Card

7. Daughter's - copy passport, letter from DoS as to why they kept the GC and explanation that we applied for her passport. (yes we applied for her passport prior to getting the CoC)

8. And the most painful item on the list, the check for $1,200 (OUCH!!!)

Most importantly read the instructions carefully to gather all the evidence, only send copies.

So total between Biometrics and Interview, it was 9 months, 16 days. This whole time I kept asking for help from our congressman Paul Cook and then a week before getting the Interview letter, we contacted the Ombudsman, but we didn't hear back from them until a week after the interview, so not sure if they did or didn't help.  

Wife became a citizen today, tomorrow we are off to get her and our oldest daughter (who also became a citizen today) a passport. Then save up more to get the CoC for oldest daughter. Thanks to all to in this forum for all the support and help throughout this journey. I can't express enough how much help everyone has been. Plus the amount of money saved from DIY vs going to a lawyer for the process. Again THANK YOU all and I'll be back for the N600 process, and probably for my wife's parents applications. To all those still waiting hang in there and best of luck.

Congrats, my wife and I will be there at the LACC tomorrow too. She got the afternoon ceremony.

Nothing in email nor text msg, but we can't wait to know the date. According to many before the oath is done in Los Angeles and that court district says the 18th I have plans of having my congressman fly a flag over the capitol on that day to give her as a gift, which she doesn't know about so that's why I'm very anxious on knowing the exact date. Plus if it happens on the 18th Obama's congrats video plays instead of the new president congratulating all the new citizens. It matters a lot to her so I would be eladed if she did get the 18th. Anyway I'll post an update and the best of luck to all those that are waiting on their interview. Remember STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, PREP, PREP AND PREP, being well prepared will make your interview fly smoothly and you'll be done before you know it.

My daughter has US passport but no certificate yet. After reading the double price increase, I hurriedly sent her N-600 application last week. I received text message and email notification from USCIS today that they have received her case.

Very, very, very smart move on your part! So my wife passed her citizenship interview yesterday and once we have her Naturalization certificate we are going to get passports and save some more for the N-600.

Yes, we were scheduled for 7:55am at the San Bernardino office, getting there was a bit nerve wrecking since it poured rain all night and this morning while on our way. Getting to the office was an easy route, once there we didn't wait long for my wife to be called in. I must say the IO seemed very nice to me and my wife did mention it was a pleasant interview. She was sweared in and then brought right into testing her, she was asked to read; "Who lives in the White House?" and to write; "The President lives in the White House." Then she was asked only six questions, two of them were ones she had a lot of trouble when we studied them, these two were:

Who is the Governor of your state now? Jerry Brown

Who is the Chief Justice of the United States now? John Roberts

So after passing all six, she was asked all the "No" questions on the form and all then all the "Yes" questions, the IO was satisfied with all the interview and she was approved or recommended for approval, and told that the notice for the Oath Ceremony will be mailed to her. I haven't seen any update on the online status, but we'll see over the next few days. My wife did make the comment to me that, it very much mattered to be prepared. Thank you all so much for all your help on this forum, I'll update you all once we are scheduled for the Oath Ceremony.

Well moment of truth is here! We are about to head out for my wife's interview. I'll report back after we get home.

So a bit of sad news is this rate hike that the USCIS is implementing on the 23rd. If my wife passes on the 22nd of this month her Oath would most likely be on 1/18 in Los Angeles. We were planning on sending our daughter's N600 petition then, now $600 wasn't cheap, but it was pretty close to the N400 cost which is palatable. Now cost is almost doubled to $1,170 which will cause us to wait and save some more for the fee. I guess we are getting her a passport first and then the CoC later. I guess they have to make up for the money they will lose from the three tier N400 fees.

What a HIT though, my wife has her naturalization interview on the 22nd of Dec and if she passes most likely will have her Oath Ceremony on 1/18 in Los Angeles. Now we were planning on sending the N600 for our daughter, which yes $600 wouldn't be cheap, but now it is almost doubled to $1,170 which will cause us to wait so we can save more money to be able to pay the fee. I'm glad we will be able to get her a passport along with my wife as proof of citizenship, but we still would like to close all loops with USCIS.

I must say this has been the hardest wait for us, we were pretty much losing hope. My wife pretty much stopped studying and well I kept the fight going in the background requesting help from our congressman, our senators and finally on 11/7 from the USCIS Ombudsman, funny how 10 days later we get the interview notice. Possibly coincidence.

Well we are now back to the study sessions as we only have 25 days to the interview. I'll modify my vation time as I had requested a week from the 23rd on so I'll do the 22nd, work the 23rd and travel after work. What a Thanksgiving surprise and hopefully it will be a great Christmas gift as not only will my wife become a citizen, but our oldest daughter too.

All those still waiting for the interview please keep hopes up. I would say ask your congressman or woman to assist, I found Paul Cook to be very helpful. The senators took a while to respond and if you're not getting anywhere definitely try the USCIS Ombudsman.

We still have not heard anything about my wife's case. On July 1st I had congressman Paul Cook look into our case and we were told it was still in the FBI investigation phase (wife did the biometrics back on 3/7/2016) and to check back in 60 days if we had not heard anything. Well 60 days are up and I just messaged him again to look into our case. Hopefully we hear back with an inline for interview or an interview date. Congrats to all who have already become citizens.

My wife's case is still in the USCIS black hole, thus we got anxious and calling the support line was utterly useless so we went to our congressman Paul Cook and requested a congressional inquiry. We received this back.

"Your application for Naturalization is currently pending background checks. Once all the background checks are completed, your case will be scheduled for an interview with a USCIS officer. If you do not receive a notice within 60 days, please contact me again for an update. Thank you!"

So I guess we are still waiting for a back ground check that is a total of 4 months today. My wife did the biometrics back on 3/7/16 so we will see what happens here and if no movement in 60 days we'll ask for another congressional inquiry.

We are still waiting for an inline notification, we have been waiting since 3/7 which is now 3 months 15 days. We called at the end of April and were told by the tier 1 rep that we would have to wait until 7/12 because our field office is still under 5 months time. Anyone else still waiting for the inline notification?

I have been waiting for the interview letter for almost 2 months already. No idea why it is taking so long for me.

I filed my documents on Feb 29, 2016 and my biometric appointment was on Mar 29.

Anyway my case status online has never been updated. It has been stuck at "Case was received". So I have no idea if my case has now been in line for interview or if my interview letter has been sent out and somehow I missed it or not.

Should I be worried and call USCIS office now? My field office is San Bernardeno.

This also happened to me last year when I did remove condition. My case was never updated until my green card was sent out.

We're in the same boat as you. Filed 2/12, bio was done on 3/7 and online still says, "Case was received..." We also have the San Bernardino field office, we called around 5/8 and just got the canned answer that the field office is working on the 5 months status so we would have to wait until 7/12 to call back in and escalate. I find that ridiculous, I also asked why the status was not updated and I didn't really get an answer to that. Plus I keep checking the status on processing times for the San Bernardino office and I swear every other week the status goes from 5 months to a date in 2015 last I saw was 11/12/2015, I just checked now and it says 5 months. So I don't have much faith in this office being well organized or it is probably super busy. At any rate we are also just waiting, hoping news comes soon. I would love for my wife to vote in this election.

We're getting anxious, we keep checking online and our case status still says it was received and no movement from there. No emails about being inline nor any letter with interview date. My wife had her biometrics appointment back on 3/7 and radio silence ever since. What is the customary wait time before we call the hotline or get senator assistance?

I received notification about NOA only. No email/text for biometrics. My online status at uscis.gov is the same (not updated).

Take a look at my signature to figure out the date of your letter for biometrics.

We're in the same boat, we got text and email for first NOA, but the biometrics letter came and we had no text nor email. I looked online and the status has not changed saying case was received. So I guess the text/email system is behind or not being updated for us.

Anyone out there that has applied for a passport prior to the CoC, what explanation did you put on Part 2 Question 17 from the N-600 form.

Got Biometrics letter today. No email nor text message. Letter was mailed out on 2/20 so it took 9 days to get to us.
