  1. Honestly, I'd check out the Regional China forum for country specific details. I know that in my personal case, my fiancee is from the UK and I found through the forum here that they do not have the Chicken Pox vaccination in the UK, but you say you had the Chicken Pox and they take your word for it. Some of the vaccinations may or may not be available to you depending on your country and you may need to get some done here. Below I've posted a link to the USCIS page that lists the vaccination requirements to immigrate, but you'll need to reference your individual country to see if you can get them all there. If not though, don't worry, although it's easier to do them ahead of time and just bring the records with you, you can still pay to have them done here before you adjust status, it's just more time and money at a later date.

True, you'll be able to have immunization done either at your local doctor or at a consulate-designated clinic at health-checkup.

One thing though, it's better for your body to have one or two vaccination a month.

Plus, some vaccinations will prohibit you to become pregnant for 6 months. So maybe a factor to consider.

The best way to find out inoculation requirement is to call the consulate-designated clinic once you decide which one to go.

They will give you exactly which shots are needed. It even varies depending on the clinic you attend.

Once you decide to have shots before the checkup (should be cheaper), you could go to your local doctor and have him give you certificates of vaccination with lot numbers of vaccines.

Then at check-up with designated clinic, you can present those certificates. rolleyes.gif

  2. A couple of days is great!

I guess a foreigner requesting cert from overseas and Irish citizen doing so is a different thing.

Put search words in the search window at the top right, like " Garda certificate" to get some results.

    Found this:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/404342-ireland-how-do-i-get-a-police-certificate-and-how-long-does-it-take/

You could also ask info in Irish Portal of VJ.

Good luck for your journey !!!

  3. Hi, I have the certificate here with me but never opened the envelope.

    So the answer is "no".

I did everything with Cork Garda over the phone and E-mail.

The officer told me to write a memo on:

    1. Your addresses in Ireland, with period mentioned

    2. The reason you need the certificate

    3. Name, current address, etc.

and send it via E-mail together with an image of your passport.

You should be able to get it ahead of time. And it's always better to move ahead.

Just explain an officer that you are in the US K-1 visa process.

You might be able to show them the NOA1 and 2.

I just wrote " to obtain a US visa to marry a US citizen" for the reason.

Did your Garda officer tell you, "you will have the cert in xx weeks"?

  4. Really hope all the service centers would approve clear I-129F petitions in a few months.

BTW, i think California was still in coma in March. (It woke up suddenly in the 3rd week of April.)

It's kind of understandable to state 5 months processing time now, mid-May, but how is it possible as of March 31?

CSC processing rate in March seemed not so different from February in my eyes.

Wonder how many cases were processed ... the "National Processing Volumes and Trends" chart isn't updated to show March data.

In February, CSC completion was 420 and 14,200 pending.

PS. It might be a manifest of "resolution" to get back to 5 months.

  5. Yes, an engagement ring will be a good secondary evidence. Make sure to retain a receipt from a jeweler.

Concrete facts such as engagement date will do you good. Include the facts in your affidavit.

I think you know but when you visit her in June, keep the air ticket stubs as first-hand evidence and submit the copy of them with a copy of passport page that shows you've entered the U.S..

Itinerary, hotel receipt, pictures etc. will be secondary evidences.

    Good luck!!!

  6. Hi, I was looking up for airlines that could carry a dog from Narita to the US in cargo in the summertime.

As for me, Singapore Airlines operates direct flights to Los Angeles and seems admitting dogs in summer as they recommend owners to choose flights in early mornings or evenings when it's hot.

Your fiancee might be able to check up direct flights to Honolulu once you get NOA2.

Skygate is handy to search one-way tickets:

  7. That's another problem, we always prefer to chat on Skype ( usually we write because the audio is not perfect very often), but how can I print the Skype history? ...and about the visit, i will make the second visit in May, I wanter to start the process after the second visit .....I hope it can help. Thank you

Do you use a computer, not a smartphone, for Skype?

If that's the case you can click her from contact list, click "show messages from: 1 year". You can copy and paste the contents on a Word file.

  8. I signed it. :)

One thing I am concerned about, however, is the language of the petition. It really doesn't explain what I-129F petitions are, so, unfortunately, only those who already know what it is, and the ramifications of this backup, will probably sign it. A lot of people will be hesitant to sign a petition related to speeding up anything related to immigration, because they will be thinking about illegal aliens and worried it has something to do with letting more illegal aliens in.

For example, most people who aren't directly involved in this process has no idea on I-129F. We might better call it "the first step of US Fiance Visa" etc., something more generally understandable.

It should work to invite wording ideas here in VJ before starting another .gov petitions, if we need to.

  9. Hi, it took a while to come up with how to ask.

I'm writing with my fiance in California.

Thanks for the notice, I hope these questions are relevant.

    1.

    Discrepancies in USCIS stated numbers:

Is there any way to make the agency present numbers to reflect reality so K-1 filers could expect when they will get their approval?

As we know, California Service Center is processing July I-129F petitions from last December. It's 5 months now, which suggests they aren't really working on K-1. When we filed in February their Processing Timeframe was 5 months, and the Processing Times from case status page was 5.5 month(s). The Processing Times changed later to 6.6 month(s) and now to 7.5 month(s). If you were a July 19th filer, you are already waiting for 8.5 months but won't be able to require a service request as USCIS will tell you " your case is within normal timeframe".

From USCIS' National Processing Volumes and Trends site, CSC I-129F backlog is 11,898 and completion is 574 for January 2013. If my understanding is correct, and with the current processing rate, simple calculation shows it will take 20.72 months to clear the backlog.

Furthermore, Vermont is processing K-1 now at 5-6 months. CSC is at 8-10 months average from what we hear from VJ members.

Some VJ members were told by USCIS staff over the phone to allow for 1 year for adjudication.

With these facts in mind, can we call this process fair and transparent?

Isn't this causing such an uncertainty to add to the waiting?

    2.

CSC is causing undue pain to I-129F filers:

Could there be an oversight system to make USCIS process all/ most of all the cases within the stated national goal of 5 months?

It seems that DACA cases are given top priority at the expense of I-129F. USCIS started K-1 and K-3 visas so that loved ones don't have to be separated for a long time. Now it's failing to attain the goal. Many filers cannot plan their holiday, work, school, living etc. because of the opaque procedure from CSC. For instance, we read on VJ that many filers with children aren't able to plan for the next school year. Altogether, it's causing such huge economical and mental loss. People are fighting depression every day after passing the 5 months national goal.

As for my case, I was diagnosed premature ovarian failure(POF) after engagement. It means my ovary decided to close down. It'll stop functioning soon. My dream is to have a family with kids... I cannot start full-fledged treatment such as external fertilization when I'm still unmarried and never tried to become pregnant. How can I explain to doctors? This is tormenting me for all the efforts not to think about it.

People have their own situation and reason. From humanitarian standpoint, CSC shouldn't be allowed to prolong the procedure beyond the national goal at its disposal.

We would like to require an oversight by a third party to balance workload and personnel so that ALL the visa types are processed according to the national goal.
