My son had his interview last June 17 in US Embassy in Manila. He brought the wrong copy of his birth certificate (the old NSO one) instead of the new PSA Birth Certificate copy which he also had but left at home. He was refused for 221g (Administrative processing) and was told to drop off the PSA copy of his birth certificate at 2GO along with his passport. The consul said once they receive it, it will only take 2 weeks for him to get his passport back with the visa stamp on it.

My son dropped the birth certificate and his passport at 2GO the same day after his interview and based on the tracking it was delivered at the embassy the next day, June 18th. It has been more than 2 weeks and we still have no update as to when my son will get his passport back. We can't even track his passport un ustraveldocs. We are now stressing out because we are afraid they've lost my son's passport and documents. My son is also turning 18 this October and he needs to fly soon to become an automatic US Citizen when he arrives here.

Has anyone had the same experience? How long do you usually get your passport back after a request to submit documents to the embassy?

I honestly think SLMC is just trying to cash in on all K1/ spousal visas. Someone needs to have their equipments checked or their X-ray staff if they are qualified to do their jobs. This issue has been going on for a long time and EVERYONE seems to have problems with their X-rays. I wonder if someone already filed a formal complaint for investigation.

My 15 year old son who is perfectly healthy and who have had no history of lung sickness just had his medical today at slec and was told he failed his xray and had to do the sputum test (hard to believe). They really need to have their xray machines checked or there is just really something fishy that’s going on there.

  4. Who have had their medical exam for US Visa taken recently at SLEC Extension Clinic in Manila? Do they require you to sign a Health Declaration Form before entering the building or did they just ask for the requirements?

My son is scheduled for his medical on March 11, he traveled from Singapore and completed 7 day quarantine in a hotel, he got negative swab test results, the BOQ certificate asks him to complete 14 day quarantine at home. If he stays home to complete quarantine he won’t make it to the his medical appointment and embassy interview on the 15th.

If he goes to his medical and interview as scheduled, will he be permitted inside if he shows his negative swab test results even of he has not completed the 14 days quarantine? Or they wouldn’t know because it won’t be asked at all?

Been trying to call SLEC extension clinic numbers to confirm so we know of we need to reschedule but their phone lines aren’t working.

I had an INFOPASS appointment recently and I would suggest try booking it at about 5-6 am, that's when they usually have spots available. I was able to get mine scheduled first thing in the morning at 6 am. My NOA doesn't expire until June but I have a similar case when I took a new job and had to show my expired GC and NOA for I-9. They accepted it but of course there was an issue later as they misclassified it as another type of receipt. I was able to explain to HR that my case is different and I had to re-do my I-9 but at least it was accepted. So just fyi, make sure HR correctly classifies your case..Good Luck!

I was lucky to get an INFOPASS appointment yesterday I kept checking the site every hour last Monday and got lucky around 8PM. I booked the earliest slot which was scheduled yesterday. I was able to speak to the Officer handling our case and she said that we will be scheduled for Interview in March. I also got I-551 stamped on my passport which is valid until December 2017 (my foreign passport expires on December).

Real glad to have gone to their office, at least now our case is moving and we are clear on the status.

That is very strange indeed - I haven't read anything on this site about others being called by USCIS.  It's usually a letter, whether it's approval, RFE or NOID.  Is there any chance you had an old phone number on the original paperwork that's no longer yours?  Otherwise, I wonder if they have mixed up information between your case and another.  Dealing with such a large organization, that's always my concern, that paperwork gets lost or mixed up.

Some people on here have successfully walked in when trying to get the I-551 stamp, for example, so you might want to try that.

Let us know what happens - I see our timelines are very similar, so our thoughts are with you!

It was VERY strange and now makes me really worried. I have not changed my phone number and have been using the same one indicated in the I-751 form that was submitted to them.

Still no luck with INFOPASS either so I might try walking in to see if I can get pass their security to get an I-551 stamp. I hope I'll have luck with that.

I just recently accepted a job offer and will be starting next month, now I'm afraid they will deny me the job because the NOA letter is expiring in March, so I really need my passport stamped at least to show them evidence that I'm legally allowed to work while the case is pending.

Really hoping and praying everyone gets their approvals soon.

I'm not sure whether to do the Case Inquiry online or just call  and be on hold for a long time?  Those of you who did the online option, how long did it take to get a response?

For online case inquiry, it usually takes them 2 weeks to reply. I filed 2 online inquiries for my case. the First one was sent 10/23 and I got a reply from them 11/7 saying " Our records show that your Form I-751 is currently pending adjudication. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time. We apologize for the delay."

I sent them another inquiry last 12/30 and got a reply from them 1/13 saying " After reviewing our systems, we try too talk to you and called you but unable to reach you. After reviewing your application in our system, we suggest that you make an INFOPASS appointment with your local USCIS Office to discuss your Immigration matter in person with A/E. (www.uscis.gov and click on InfoPass)"

I also received a weird  voicemail message from them saying that they have called me in the past and whoever answered my phone hung up or told them that I'm not home (which I can confirm was a lie) coz I never got a call from them and I do not hung up coz I would usually let it go to my voicemail if I get a call from unlisted numbers, they said that they can't schedule my interview until they speak to me in person and I would have to come into their office in person.

Now I'm trying to schedule an Infopass appointment but everytime I try to schedule one from their site all I get is "

Currently, there are no available appointments. Please check again tomorrow.

This has become so frustrating, I would've expected an RFE to be sent if they needed more information regarding our case and really don't understand why they would lie about having called my number in the past.

Does anyone know the easiest way to secure an Infopass? Can I just walk-in to their office and secure an Infopass from there or should it be done online only which would take forever given that they have no slots availavble all the time?

Also bring current picture ID and any documents you received from USCIS associated with this application.

  9. Still no aproval for me from CSC. :(

Just filed a case and this was their reply.

On 10/23/2016, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your Form I-751 to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

Our records show that your Form I-751 is currently pending adjudication. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time. We apologize for the delay.

We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience.

  10. sorry if this is the wrong area but I'm not sure where to post this question...

I was petitioned as a K-1 Fiance', when I got married I changed my surname. I got my DMV license after I got my EAD card which already shows my married name so my DMV license also shows my married name. The expiration on my license is the expiration on my EAD which is already about to expire next month, I got a letter from DMV asking me to send proof of legal presence to extend my limited term license. I sent them back a copy of my Green Card which already has my married name too. Now they sent me back my application and said that they cannit process my request because they requested clearance from Department of Homeland Security but got a response that the name reflected in the record is different than the one in my green card. (I sent them copy of front and back of my green card, the front shows my married name) the back shows (my maiden name).

How do I get this corrected? Did I miss a a step? should I have notifified Department of Homeland Security for the change in my name when I got married? What should I do to get my license extended?

  11. Got my Green Card Yesterday. THE END. :dancing:

  12. Update:

We had our AOS interview yesterday. We thought we weren't approved because after the interview the officer handed as a letter saying that our case is being held for review and we'd have to wait 120 days for a decision.

When I woke up this morning, I already got an SMS notification that our case has been updated and I checked online and the status is now Card/Document Production. YEY! Thank God it's almost over. :dancing:

  13. Call the local office number listed on the letter the gave you everyday and have the person on the ph to verify your status. Once your told you have been verified, go back to that office and get a printout of your ssn.

The person at the window most likely tell you that your not allowed to get a printout and you need to wait for the card in the mail. If that's the case ask immediately to talk to a supervisor and then you'll get the number. That's what I had to do and got my number yesterday and my driving license today. Let me know how it goes and don't let them give you bullsh*t

I went to the SSA Office yesterday and finally got a printout of my Social Security number. Fortunately for me I didn't have to talk to a supervisor, :) Thank God, I can finally start work on Monday. Thank you so much for the information, I would've waited for the SSN card to be mailed had you not told me about this. :)

Thanks for this. I will do exactly the same thing. Congrats on your driver's license. :)

  15. Hey guys, This is probably off the topic, but it is related to the AOS process, and I was wordering if you guys could light me up ;)

So I got my EAD card on may 22 and it was issued on may 16. The first thing I did was to apply for my SSN the very next day. When they received my application, they gave me a letter saying that they were going to have to verify my documents so they could assign a SSN for me because my status was not updated by the DHS. it also said that such verification could take around 4 WEEKS!

I went to the SSA office agan today, and the same guy who processed my application said that my application was still pending and not verified and that I should have waited two weeks after I got my EAD to apply for my SSN and I could have had my number right away (He didnt tell me that when I first brought my application - I felt like yelling at him). After that, of course he said that theres nothing I could do but to wait for the verification process to end and then to wait for my card.

    My questions are:

Is there anything I can do to try to get my number faster that those ridiculous 4 weeks?

Should I contact the USCIS since that guy said that my status hasnt been updated after I got my EAD?

The company who gave me this job offer over a month ago needs my SSN to process my background check. I was never aware that this delay could happen as many of the people here get their numbers right away. I am so desperate now...

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Just wondering if you got an update about your SSN already? We're on the same boat. I went to the SSA office today and was told the same thing. I was given a letter stating that verification could take 4 weeks. I too have a job offer pending and they need my SSN asap. Can't quite escape life's red tape, this is so ridiculous. <_<

  16. Congrats Kabayan! My EAD card changed into production too yesterday. :dancing:

No need to worry. AOS and the EAD/AP are processed separately. You're still within processing time which is 60-90 days for EAD/AP. Some have been reporting in VJ that they are getting interviewed already for the AOS and yet no update on the EAD/AP front. If your GC arrives before the EAD/AP then you don't need the latter anymore. You can work and travel with just the GC.

It's a cliché already, I know, but at this point, we are all just in a waiting game. :)

Great news for us. :) I hope we receive it by next week, Can't wait to start working.

  17. Got an update today, interview is set for June 11. :)

03/08/14: Mailed AOS Packet to Chicago Lockbox via UPS

    03/17/14: NOA1

    03/27/14: Check cashed-in, text/email notification received

05/09/14: I485 status changed to Testing and Interview (Interview set for June 11)

  18. What is the priority/received date on your NOA1? Just wondering if it is a waist of time when they take this long to send the hard copy, or it actually it does not matter. I am in the day 9 and didn't get any e-notification yet... and I don't understand why in some cases they notify in a few days, and in other in a few weeks.

Received date in the hardcopy is March 17 and Notice Date is March 27. :)
