We received notice today that are aos was approved. No interview and one rfe ??

My husband applied for his aos in february. We received a rfe in June for the medical exam and mailed back the required documentaion earlier this month(august)Does the rfe restart the clock for the aos processing or does it pick up where it left off?

Is the i693 valid for a year or a year and a half from completion?

My husband and I received a rfie in the mail last week. Turns out we had used a outdated version of the medical form. In the letter is states not to mail in any documentation and to wait for further instruction. Today out of curiosity we called to find out the status of the case. We learned that our interview has been scheduled for tomorrow at the Orlando office. We never received a notice for the interview and apparently it was mailed on April 6!

We were told we could reschedule so a request was sent to the Orlando field office. We were told that the field office could accept or reject our request to reschedule. On top of that we have to have a new medical completed as the last medical is dated 5/23/15.

Any suggestions on how to handle this.

It turns out that I got a rfie because the medical exam was completed on the wrong version of the form. The letter states not to mail any information until further notice.

The medical my husband received was on March 25 of last year. Do we have to pay to get another medical exam completed or can the doctor complete the updated medical form with the results from last years exam?

We were not able to file last year because of financial issues.

My husbands ead was approved and our card was mailed yesterday. I haven't received a update on advanced parole or green card yet. Maybe I'll get word on the ap within the next few days.

Was it a request for initial evidence or a request for evidence? That makes a big difference in the timelines.

From another VJer: "If the EAD was filed concurrently with the AOS, everything is on hold until the RFE is satisfied and the case resumes processing. The EAD in this case is derivitive of the AOS"

I received a rfe because one of the forms I used was not the right version. It was requested 30 days into my case and I sent the evidence 3 weeks later. Does this restart my application time frame to day 1?

I know I'm late joining the thread but I'm happy to see so many other feb aos filers. Anyone else going thru this from florida?

You timeline doesn't show biometrics. Not that you would get an RFE for that but just wondering if you did it. We have close to the same timeline for AOS and am just wondering.

Actually my husband completed his biometrics on wednesday.

I was thinking the same, the last medical exam he had was in May of 2015 , so its less than a year old. It was sent in a sealed envelope. i wasnt sure if it needed to be more recent, so i sent it in anyway.

I looked online and saw i was sent a rfe yesterday. Of course it wont be here until next tuesday but i am super anxious. I put in every piece of evidence we had ...wedding pictures, pictures of family gatherings, wedding license and certificate, leases, banking information, tax returns etc.

Does any one know what else they could possibly need? Bascially everything that was in the visa journey guide was in the petition.

We mailed our aos packet to Chicago last week. Will our petitions be sent to Orlando for processing since that is the closest city to us? Or will it be processed in Chicago.?

How are petitions processed? I've been looking at the guides and see the petitions are sent to the Chicago lockbox. I then have seen local CIS offices. I am not sure what CIS means, but does the I-485 got to the local cis office for processing and the other petitions for employment, travel and affidavit of support are processed elsewhere?

I am filing for the AOS for my husband along with the i765. Question 11 asks if he had ever obtained permission for employment from USCIS in the past. My husband did work for the disney college program in 2001 under a j visa. he does not recall obtaining a EAD but does have a social security card valid for employment by INS only.

How should we answer the question , yes or no? If we put yes where can we get a copy of the EAD as he beleives his former employer may have done so.

Also on the ss card it said work authorization only....what does that mean?
