  1. I'm engaged to a Jamaican guy. I was born in Jamaica but have been living in the states for the past 22 years. I never intended to get involved in a long distance relationship, but you can't help who you fall in love with. My boyfriend is the best boyfriend I've ever had. I travel to Jamaica two to four times a year to visit him and every time I go I have the time of my life. You will hear a lot about Jamaican men but you have to block out those negative thoughts because your life and your relationship is different from someone else's. just because a few people had bad experiences does not mean you will experience the same. No two relationships are the same, not even your past relationships. I won't say I don't have abad thought or two in the back of my head, but I tune them out because I don't want them to cause unnecessary problems on my relationship. I have dated American men and they are no different than my fiancé. Keep in mind that if things don't work out, you may have the same end results as if you were dating someone in the U.S. I don't think of my relationship with my fiancé any less than my past relationships. To make a long story short, in life you have to take risks to learn the outcome. Don't let what may be the man for you pass you by because of your fears or what others say. It's good to learn from the mistakes of others, but sometimes it's best to learn from your own. I'm here if you ever need me. I was just on Ocho Rios for my birthday in February and had a ball.

  2. I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE WHO CSC APPROVES THIS WEEK. I HOPE TO SEE A LOT OF JULY-OCTOBER APPLICANTS BEING APPROVED. I WROTE MY CONGRESSWOMAN AND SIGNED THE PETITION THAT WAS STARTED ON THE WEBISTE FOR THE WHITE HOUSE SO I AM THINKING POSITIVE. I HOPE CSC FEELS THE PRESSURE TO DO BETTER. THEY HAVE TRANSFERED WORKLOAD TWICE SO THERE SHOULD BE A LOT OF ADJUDICATIONS TAKING PLACE. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE, LETS KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED.

  3. I encourage everyone to contact their congressman/woman in reguards of CSC. Maybe enough pressure will get the ball going. I think they are feeling the pressure but I dont know if its enough. I wrote my congresswoman and sent it off today so hopefully it will add a little more pressure. I have waited 8 months to long...

  4. I want the best for everyone, but no application should be placed on hold for another. I was born in another country, but that doesn't mean I think it's ok for illegal immigrants to get priority. I am a tax paying citizen who has done things the legal way all my life and I feel everyone should do the same. CSC needs to pick up pace and quit slacking. Every day there is a new excuse, and whether they are true or not, they need to deliver results instead of hiding like a bunch of cowards behind a five month processing date, not accepting live calls, or service request.

  5. I am happy for the November/December applicants who are receiving approvals, but it makes me wonder WTH CSC is really doing. How dare them place our applications on a halt as if they don't have a care in the world. They don't seem to understand that they are playing with peoples lives, and I just don't think they care. It pisses me off knowing that the 29th will make 8 months for me as others are being approved in less than 5 who filed 3-4 months after me as well as others. I wonder if the July-October files were the ones that were damaged when they were having plumbing issues? If so, do they think it's fair to request new applications and evidence from each applicant whose file was damaged because of their careless actions? I have no issues with the DACA applicants, but I don't think it's fair that other applications were placed on the back burner. I am a law abiding citizen and I deserve fairness and justice. I have written my congresswoman and I hope she can be of help and hope others follow in my footsteps because a closed mouth won't get fed and CSC is beyond themselves at this point.

  6. Thank you. I will do so the first chance I get tomorrow as I am planning to mail my letter off by Thursday with all the evidence I can find to my congresswoman. I really appreciate it

  7. I am in the process of writing a letter to my congresswoman and I am in need of a few pointers in writing my letter. I have so much to say but I do not want to my words to be repetitive, I do not want to rant. I simply need help in which topics to point out that will be of help to me and my congresswoman when she contacts CSC on my behalf. I have read a few tips and pointers in the past but I am unable to find them. If anyone who has written their congress man/woman can be of help it will be greatly appreciated.

The 29th of April will make 8 months since i've recieved noa1 and my patience is getting low. We were told it would take 5-6 months so anything after is ludacris. We all deserve an answer through email or mail so this is my way of attempting to get one. Nothing tried nothing done. I would like to start grad school and a family and CSC is holding me up. I've waited long enough.

I encourage everyone to seek help!

  8. If my file is damaged I refuse to go through the fiance visa application process again so I will get married instead. For files to get damaged it shows carelessness... But because it's not theirs they are irresponsible. They may think that applicants will take it nicely when asked to resubmitt their application... I don't think may will take it so well, especially those who have waited for 7 months or more. This is just a bunch of bullshit and they should do better. My question is, when will they notify applicants whose files were destroyed because I damn sure don't think we should wait much longer to find out.

  9. MY 1ST QUESTION IS, DO I HAVE TO SEND IN AN AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT BEFORE MY FIANCE GOES IN FOR HIS INTERVIEW OR IS THAT DONE AFTER WE ARE MARRIED IF WE GET APPROVED @ CSC AND HIS INTERVIEW GOES WELL? MY SECOND QUESTION IS, DO I FILL OUT THE I-134 FORM OR THE 1-864, I-864A, OR I-864EZ? WHICH FORM DO I FILL OUT AND WHICH FORM DOES MY SPONSOR FILL OUT?

I AM STILL WAITING FOR CSC TO APPROVE OR DENY MY APPLICATION, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THINGS READY IF THINGS WORK OUT IN MY FAVOR. I GUESS I CAN GET THINGS IN ORDER AS I SIT AND WAIT. I DID NOT KEEP A COPY OF ANYTHING THAT I SENT IN LAST YEAR ALONG WITH MY APPLICATION, SO NOW I HAVE TO PREPARE THEM NOW.

  10. Dont allow anyone to discourage you. You're not on this website for negative criticism, rather support and guidance. Others have done what you've done and it helped so it may work for you as well... Good luck, stand strong, and I wish you all the best. Its a free country so feel free to voice what you need at all times and pay very little attention if any to negative criticism/feedback. If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything...

  11. I think everyone who has been waiting 7 months or longer should contact their congressman or woman to investigate their individual cases so CSC can see that we mean business. How do you update the website in March 2013 with a January 2013 timeframe? It doesn't take them any time to cash each check, but 8 month plus to process the application. Maybe they shouldn't cash the checks until they process the application. I paid $340 to wait as my application sits around as they work on other case loads? That's nonsense. We deserve an explanation and if everyone seemed help I believe we would see movements in CSC...

  12. When going in for an interview in Jamaica, does it make a difference I ( USC) is present or not? Does it help out at all?

Will the fact that he's attempted before to get a visa on his own the last time being to attend his grandmothers funeral play a role in the interviewers decision?

I have yet to get my NOA2, I am just curious...

  13. This is really sad and depressing to read. Thanx for the update! I did the K1 visa because it gave a five month time frame. I regret doing it because the process would've been close to the end had I gotten married the process would've taken 9 months. In five months it will have been a year since I've applied. The worst part is, if approved I have to wait for him to get an interview where he can be approved or denied. I wish I had taken a different route! I'm giving this another month or two then I'm just going to withdraw my application and get married.

I will not recommend the K1 visa to anyone else. My friends got married three months before I filed and her boyfriend will be here in a month or two... Damn Shame a lot of people like myself are still waiting

  14. I HAVE BEEN WAITING PATIENTLY ON A DECISION FROM CSC. IT SUCKS TO HEAR THAT A LOT OF CASES WERE PLACED ON THE BACK BURNER FOR OTHER IMMIGRATION CASES, BUT WHAT'S DONE IS DONE. I JUST HOPE THEY DON'T START DOING A SLOPPY JOB WITH THE CASES THAT REMAINED @ THEIR LOCATION AS THEY TRY TO PLAY CATCH UP. IT'S GOING TO SUCK IF THEY SEND OUT A LOT OF DENIED LETTERS BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE HAVE WAITED SO LONG. BUT I AM EXCITED @ THE SAME TIME BECAUSE THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH A LOT AND MEET THEIR GOALS THAT THEY HAVE EXCEEDED...

  15. They gave a 5 month time frame which is why I choose this route. I could've easily gotten married which would've taken less than a year by me being a citizen... I've seen it done way to many times which is why I feel this is becoming a waste of time. Now I have no option but to remain patient as well as everyone else
