  1. the non-impediment certificate is valide for 6 months and the police record or certificate is 3 months and u can get them 10 day maximum so id advise u nt to do that yet cause u have nt recieve NOA2 yet wouldnt like them to expire on you

I learned something new. I wasn't sure on how long they were both valid for. Thanx

Here are a couple of things you can start working on while waiting for your NOA2:

    - Getting your affidavit of support and relevant documentation together

    - Filling out your DS forms (230, 156, 156K and 157)

    - Obtaining your necessary passport pictures

    - Obtaining an updated version of your birth certificate (new style)

    - Police certificate (it took my fiance 30days to get his - and it is good for up to 1 year from the date of issuance)

    - Going to the clinic and obtaining necessary shots prior to your medical(there is a post somewhere on VJ that has the link to the shots needed)

    - Gathering support to prove on-going relationship (i.e., pictures, phone records, etc)

Just think of all the details that goes into pulling an excellent package together and all of the other little things that need to be done. Before you know it, you will have an NOA2 and you don't want to be scrambling to gather documents. Hope this helped.

I had a feeling the police report was valid for one year...

  2. No, they don't. Not for USCIS purposes.

The only time this is advisable is for "front-loading" purposes -- for the benefit of the consulate, which will receive the I-129F petition upon its approval by USCIS. Front-loading is advisable for certain tough or ####### consulates, of which the Manila embassy is certainly not one.

I was going on information that I included in my letter. I briefly discussed my relationship. You are suppose to mention something about your relationship in your letter of intent. It helps in showing that the relationship is real. Keep in mind that in the first phase you want to prove that your relationship is genuine...

  3. I think both the certificate of non impediment and the police record are both good for a year, if so, I would suggest that you apply for them at any time, you will need an update version of your original birth certificate. They are requesting the newer versions so if you don't have one its a good idea to get one. You may want to get an immunization that is easy to read as you will not want to pay for additional shots, it seems that a lot of people pay for at least two to three shots during the medical. You can view the poverty guidelines online and make sure your spouse meets the requirements, if he does not you may want to gather up potential sponsors, I suggest more than one in case the one you have in mind backs out at the last minute, I've heard about that happening too many times and its is an essential in getting approved at the interview, you don't want a 221g form with a request for additional documents as it will prolong your wait time. Get your spouses taxes and W2's together for 2010-2012. You can fill out form DS-230 and sign and date it once you receive your NOA2 as that is the form the embassy must receive before scheduling an interview. I would also print out forms DS- 156, 156K, and 157. Fill them out and type them up and sign them once you get. One of the forms have to be submitted online so you would of course wait to fill it out, but if you print them out and pencil them in then when the time comes you'll be good to go. I think that about sums it up. Oh , be sure you both write a second letter of intent and gather all the documents you submitted with the original application which you will need for your interview... Good luck!

  4. It seems that the embassy in Kingston has picked up the slow pace :) this makes me really happy! A few individuals have shared really great news on their status update on the CEAC website. I hope each day more great news will trickle in. The embassy will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, but we still have two days remaining in this,week...

  5. Continue to email the embassy daily as they will respond to one of your emails soon or later. They are good at ignoring emails. Be sure to include in your email the fact tat you have spoken to DOS and explain to them what DOS explained to you. As you email them, contact your congress person to assist you. I've been told they must respond to a goverment official within 48 hours. Write your congress person ASAP.

I can't wait for my fiancé to get his visa in his hands because the embassy drags so much tat it's beyond ridiculous. Good luck!

  6. Congrats!!!!!!!

Sometimes i get frustrated but i know God is always on time

    Congrats!!!!!!!

Keep the faith and pray... I know it's hard. This has even a rough year for me so it was hard going through the process this far. I lost my younger brother back in March who was only 18, and life started falling apart from then. This is the best news I have gotten since his deaths. My days and nights have dragged for so long, so believe me when I say I' hit rick bottom and I'm just starting to see some light. Take things one day at a time and continue to push through each day. Good luck and ill be prying for you to obtain your visa soon. We still have to wait for him to get his visa for all of this to be real, so we're still waiting.

  7. Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!!!!

So happy for you, a few steps from airfare booking!!¡ and POE review hehehe!!

It's been a long time coming so glad you received this good news today. Prayerfull, he'll have visa in hand by Thursday!

    Congratulations again!

Thanx! I would love for him to have his visa by Thursday as well but for today I'm just going to enjoy the moment. A weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It's an emotional day!

  8. Congrats...you gave us hope that someday soon our visa will be issued also...so happy for you and your fiancé....God bless you both.

Thank you! Trust me when I say that I know the feeling. It's not over yet until he gets it in his hands so I'm still apart of the waiting game, but hold on. I believe the embassy will start giving good results from here on out. As they get more applications, they will try to make decisions quickly to keep up with the pace

  9. Congratulation!!!! All the best in your future endeavours, may God continue to bless you and your family. I am still holding my faith as i am yet to have my visa issued as well.

Thank You! It means a lot... It's been a long journey. Hang tight sweetie as its on its way. It's not easy but what's for you is for you and no one can take your blessings away from you. God is a on time God... I'll be praying for a positive outcome... Keep us posted ...

    Congrats...

    Thank you!

  10. Good morning,

So I called the Department of State this morning and found out that my baby's visa was ISSUED! I would like to thank God first and foremost! I am extremely grateful. Tomorrow will make 1 year since I received NOA1. This has been a long journey that's still in the making but now I am a step closer to the finish line. This journey has been far from easy, but through the midst of it all, I have learned that nothing happens on our time... God was teaching me patience and I overlooked it. The minute I gave in and left it in his hands, he came through. He's an on time God! I cried tears of joy, an I will cry greater tears once his visa is in his hands...

To all of those still in the process, don't give up! I know the stress and frustrations this brings! We are a VJ community which is the beauty of it all. We understand each others pain when no one else does. I think that the immigration laws President Obama is passing is forcing service centers to process petitions faster and I think the Kingston Embassy is attempting to catch up with its paper work in preparation for the heavy case loads they will be receiving. I promised to share my updated information with you all and I will continue to do so as my journey is not over. I hope everyone has a blessed day!

  11. If you are able to get an employment letter I suggest you get one if it is listed as a requirement. Anyone can say anything about not needing one, but at the end of the day the U.S. Embassy in your country has the final say and I would hate for you to no obtain one and it's needed at the time of your interview. Better safe than sorry. You never know what type of interviewing officer you'll get, some are stricter than others, which is why it's best to cover your tracks. My fiance submitted all of what they asked for and they took what they wanted leaving a few documents behind, but one of the interviewing officer took all of the documents required from others at the embassy. A lot of times when I read reviews, some people are lucky to not have to submit any documents/proof during their interview besides the DS forms and affidavit of support. GOOD LUCK!

  12. I'm so sorry you have to start all over. The ignorance in me would say to fight for the fee that you already paid but the reality is you have to do things their way so just pay the fee and get this process going. It's sad such hurdles come into play, but the devil is a liar. Don't allow this to get the best of you hun. Keep things going and good luck!
