  1. It's just ####### because the darn thing EXPIRES. I know it's not supposed to be a major thing to get it extended, but there is a time limit on the NOA2. Ours expires in Nov and hopefully London doesn't take too long to schedule an interview after getting his medical.

  2. You're probably right. I called NVC and received our case number and the case status says "Ready". I'll see if I actually get another document in the mail. My main frustration right now is getting my income tax transcript. I've moved so I can't request it online and they have yet to reply to the request from well over a month ago.. I sent in another one this week.

  3. First NOA2 was July 9th and then a very long wait for our file to get shipped to NVC. I was told it was shipped in late August (and have verification). I just received a text from USCIS and this update (see below). I don't get it. Thoughts?

    Post Decision Activity

On September 3, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

  4. Single parenthood is very challenging. Be sure you get a good support system in place - not just your family - to help. La Leche League and other groups are great to visit during pregnancy to meet others.

I'm sorry this has happened to you. I'm also sorry it will tie you together with him for at least 18 years. Single parenthood with a lousy dad/ex is even more challenging.

  5. Don't be surprised when NVC tells you to wait 8 weeks. NOA2 on July 9th and ours hasn't shipped yet. NVC quotes 8 week wait. DoS is unable to help. DoS suggested calling NVC again on Monday and then USCIS and contacting a senator.

I think the timeline should be updated to show that NVC is saying 8 weeks. It's maddening to hear over and over on here that it's a 1-2 week process when for quite a few of us it isn't.

  6. I called DOS and they were extremely nice (no wait time) and said that my file does no show as received. She suggested I wait til the 12th to try NVC and see if they'll do an inquiry to see where it is located.

However, when she looked up my file it said it was "sent out on July 9th for post-decision activity" -- I'm assuming since this is the date of the NOA2 that is what it's referring to and *NOT* that it was really sent somewhere else. Anyone know?

When I called NVC they said to wait 8 weeks so I'm not hopeful that they'll be helpful. DOS did say that sometimes people's files get stuck at the bottom of a pile of boxes for months because new boxes get put on top of theirs. However, she said that NVC *should* be willing to do an inquiry when I call on the 12th.

It's honestly maddening to see others get shipped off within a week and ours sits for a month. It seems like THIS part should be as easy as first in, first out since they're just reshipping them, right?

    Thanks,

    Bridget

  7. I called earlier to get my case number. Our NOA2 was July 9th. The polite, but business-like, guy on the phone said to give them 8 weeks before expecting it. Hopefully he's just way overestimating in the desire to stop folks from calling.. but I've decided that for my sanity I won't check again til September. November will mark one year apart and I really hope we will be together again before that time. The silver lining to me is even if we're not, at least we'll have a day in mind by then!
