  1. Hi all,

    greetings!

I am in the process of collecting all the vaccinations and other medical records.

I received the letter the designated physician in Burnaby, BC. The doctor is telling me that I need to receive

    1. Tdap (Adacel or Boosterix)

    2. MMR, measles mumps rubella

    3. Varicella

    4.. Influenza

In the past, I have tested for 2 (MMR) and 3 (Varicella). Never received 1. I receive 4 (Influenza) in December, 2012.

I was wondering how your medical exam was ()particularly BC residents at Dr. Cheema's Office and how I should be getting these records. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

What tests were done at the immigration physician and what I can do before I go the immigration physician to make the whole process smooth?

Many many thanks for your attentions!

  2. Stay warm and safe....

Just thought I would let people know that here in New Hampshire today and tomorrow, where the NVC is, we are having a blizzard, potentially the worst in over 100 years. With hurricane force winds and over 2 feet of snow, we are expecting widespread and prolonged power outages. All non-essential government workers have been ordered to stay home, and everyone else, except emergency workers, have been ordered to stay off the roads. So for those of you trying to get through to the NVC, I am afraid that until at least Monday, there will be no NVC. Stay warm everyone in the Northeast!! cool.gif

  3. Which type of visa you are applying for?

Has anyone booked an interview date with Montreal lately? Is it always 3 months in advance or do they open dates that would become available sooner? I am booked for April 30th but I desperately have to get my interview in march or early April at the latest. My fiancé is sick and I have to get there ASAP.

  4. ca_poppy,

    I have the same question.

My case was completed a week ago and my priority date is in September 2012.

I am desperately waiting for the interview date to be scheduled and have already missed the important deadlines already.

2-4 months sounds too long for me.

Since your priority date is May 2012, you should be able to get in the front of the line, I assume.

Best of luck and keep us posted on your interview scheduling.

    Have you called NVC lately?

We just got our case complete today! I know I've read in the past that it can take 2-4 for Montreal to schedule interviews, but it sounds like ResidentAngel's was scheduled fairly quickly. Is this a new development or an anomaly?

Also, does anyone know if they are scheduling cases in the order that they are received from NVC, or based on priority date--as in, if we have a priority date in May, would he get an interview sooner than someone whose priority date is in, say, November?

  5. Hi hikegirl,

How would Canada know you are a U.S. resident? How often do we have to renew our heathcare card? Mine is from British Columbia.

My worry about this when I was looking into it was whether or not I’d be entitled to Canadian health care. I think legally you are a resident of the US and a visitor to Canada if you activate your visa.

  6. I sent original and also the copies.

I haven't received an NOA2 yet but was wondering, Do we need to send in the original marriage certificate and beneficiary birth certificate? Or can we send in a color photocopy of those 2 documents instead. I'm a litte apprehensive about sending in the originals to NVC and have them lose our originals. Don't they usually ask for the original during the interview at the embassy. I know certified copy is accepted but sometimes those can be hard to get. What are you guys opinions?

  7. Hi everyone,

I applied through self-pertition and my I-140 was approved in October 2012. My case was transferred from USCIS to NVC some time in November and I submitted the civil documents and was told that I need to wait for the interview date. My priority date is September 2012.

I was wondering whether anyone of you is on the same boat and the wait is awfully long. I am getting very worried now.

What time should I expect to be interviewed at Montreal U.S. Consulate?

    Thank you for your attentions!

  8. Hi everyone,

My case is at the NVC and I got email telling me that my interview date will be assigned at some point and I will be notified. However, when I contacted the Consulate General, I was told that my case is still with NVC. I called NVC and was told that NVC will schedule the interview date and then send my documents to the Consulate General.

I was wondering whether this is normal. I am applying from Canada under E1 category. My I-140 was approved in October 2012. Priority date is some time in September 2012. Consulate: Montreal, Canada.

It was a long wait and I don't how much longer I would be waiting.

If you don't mind sharing your inputs, it would be extremely appreciated.

  9. 2. Please check whether this website would be helpful.

    5. Wait a few more days, then call them. It is probably already on the way.

Hello all... I have been continually reading up on all that is needed for my next steps and some of those things have me a little confused. Instead of creating numerous posts, thought I'd keep contained in one :)

All feedback would be greatly appreciated especially those who moved to KY as that's where I'm heading.

    1. So I registered on the CSC website, picked the Loomis here in London and and continued onto scheduling my interview..... The confusing part is the Loomis portion. Is that all I had to do for registering with them? Just tell them that that's where I want it sent and then once my interview is complete I get a waybill?

    2. Importing my car. I have tried to read the ####### out of info on this.... I thought it was something that i did in the State I was moving to, but I'm now thinking that it's at the border? Is that right? I have my compliance letter already and I'm ready to do it whenever, I just wanted to make sure that it's at the POE.

    3. SSN. There are so many threads on the topic and they all say 2 different things. My plan was to go down, get married ASAP and then go and register for my SSN (after the 10 day mark) and do it in my married name.... Some seem to say NO and others say it's not a problem doing it in your married name. I plan on taking all the info stated in the guide portion to help any uneducated on the topic reps that I may encounter. Though the one link that says to print a notice is now dead.

    4. I-134 Affidavit of Support.... my fiance received his tax transcripts from 2010 and 2011... the only thing is that he did those taxes with his ex-wife and they don't show his income separately... Will that be an issue? He is hoping to have his 2012 done and back before my interview, so i'm thinking the others won't matter...

    5. I still haven't received any letters from Montreal regarding pkg 4 and the Dr requires it..... I am hoping that it comes soon, but what happens if I don't get it.... will the email they sent suffice?

I think that's it for now.... thank you all again for helping me keep my sanity during this process. :)

  10. Mine is from RCMP. Yours looks great!

So, I went to commissionaires to get my police criminal record check. I gave him my maiden name as well and I saw him enter it in the computer. A couple days later I received this in the mail. It lists my current name but not my maiden name. Is this ok?

  11. Did the NVC or Embassy send back the original birth and police certificates and other civil documents to you?

What is on the checklist for interviewing? Good luck with your interview!

I'm not quite sure about Montreal, but I would think that being so close to the US that your time would be shorter. But really 2 months is a long time. D:

  12. I thought all immigrant visas are processed in Montreal.

    Hi guys,

Maybe I can find some advice here. I phoned NVC and was told my package was forwarded to Vancouver on January 8th. I downloaded "packet 3" online and have all but a few of the items on the checklist. I want to schedule an interview near the end of February, so I'm wondering if it's ok to e-mail the embassy today and tell them I will fax over my packet 3 and could they e-mail me packet 4. (I know Vancouver consulate will e-mail packet 4 if asked).

I am going to renew my passport in a couple of weeks, and it will be back by mid-February, and I just have to get my photos done and my fiance will be giving me the other documents next week. I will also be getting my police certificate in a week or so.

I just want to make sure I get a good interview date, as I'd like to move at the end of March.

    Thank you!

  13. I called NVC multiple times inquiring my case. My impression was that the almost all the representatives are responsible, helpful, patient and professional. One thing we should keep in mind is that they cannot control the case processing and they can only communicate with you based on what they have on their computers. So, you may get a lot of answers like "it will take 20 business days........". Stay tuned and NVC Staff are good at email communications as well.

    Hi all,

Today I finally got a chance to talked to an agent at NVC asking if they have received my case (My NOA2 date was 1/15/2013). On hearing my CIS number, the lady said yes, but not in system yet. I was surprised that it took her no time to look up my package before she answered me. Could what she said be true? Then she said it will take 10-20 business days to assign a number. Then I asked if they will notify me as soon as they assign the number. The lady says yes. Everything seemed too smooth and I even couldn't come up with what to ask further. I wonder if I need to keep calling and follow it up. Could I count on the NVC info given by the agent? Anyone has some experience or thoughts? :help: Thanks!
