1. I want to know the exact size of the pictures that I should attach to the DS Forms. Should they be American Visa size or 2x2 sized? is it the same size for the Medical exam?
For details on photo size, please click here.
2. Should I already attach the pictures to the forms, or should they be attached when they collect them from me on the embassy?
I don't remember whether or not you are allowed to attach the the photos in advance.
3. With regard to the western union receipts and tickets, this includes the VISA fee receipt from BPI, should i give them the originals or can i just give them the scanned copies and have the originals with me just in case they want to see them?
Try to give them copies, but have the originals with you in case they are needed.
4. The appointment confirmation letter. Is this the one that i got on my email confirming my appointment since i have set it up online? or is this a letter that i should receive from the mail?
The letter you may receive from the Embassy is a letter which tells you that you are eligible to schedule an interview and it gives you instructions on how to prepare for the interview. It's the same letter I linked you to in #1. It's not an appointment confirmation letter.
I haven't got that letter yet. Im sure Im gonna have it by the time of the interview. Just have to wait maybe a couple more weeks.
Did you print out an interview appointment confirmation sheet when you scheduled your interview online?
Yes I did.
5. What should I wear for my interview? should i go on full corporate attire or smart casual will do?
My preference is corporate, but smart casual should work too.
6. My interview is scheduled at 7:30am. Should i be there as early as 5am? or 6-6:30 will do?
6:00-6:30 AM will do fine.
Good luck !!!
Thank you so much. this is very helpful.

Hi, my interview is scheduled on March 25th so i basically have more than a month to prepare. I've already chosen our pictures that I'm going to submit, the messages and emails and skype logs are all ready to be printed. The western union receipts, plane tickets, bus tickets, are also ready. I've also requested 2 copies each of my BC and Cenomar from NSO. I still need your help though.
first, i want to know the exact size of the pictures that I should attach to the DS Forms. Should they be American Visa size or 2x2 sized? is it the same size for the Medical exam?
Second, should I already attach the pictures to the forms, or should they be attached when they collect them from me on the embassy?
Third, with regard to the western union receipts and tickets, this includes the VISA fee receipt from BPI, should i give them the originals or can i just give them the scanned copies and have the originals with me just in case they want to see them?
Fourth, the appointment confirmation letter. Is this the one that i got on my email confirming my appointment since i have set it up online? or is this a letter that i should receive from the mail?
Fifth, what should I wear for my interview? should i go on full corporate attire or smart casual will do?
And lastly, my interview is scheduled at 7:30am. Should i be there as early as 5am? or 6-6:30 will do?
Thank you everyone for always being so helpful. God bless you all!

hi, i already got my MNL# from NVC and im just waiting for the USEM reply on my inquiry on whether or not they already received our documents. Planning on paying the visa fee in the next couple of weeks to have the interview and medical scheduled.
I would just like to know from those who have recently scheduled their interview in Manila what is the earliest interview dates available at the moment? thank you in advance. God bless you all!
-
After NOA2 AND YOU HAVE YOUR MNL #
(don't need to wait for the letter from the embassy )
Once you have your MNL # you can take your passport and required visa fee (in Php) to BPI and pay your visa fee. The embassy website states that within 4 hours of paying at BPI you can schedule your interview appointment but most times it seems to take about 24 hours.
http://ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-paymentinfo.asp
When scheduling online with the embassy you need to include the "XX" at the beginning of the passport number, your passport number IS your receipt number (normally).
Priorty Date; this is the date the NOA 1 was accepted.
Make sure to print two copies of the interview confirmation page as you will need one for St. Luke's and the other for the embassy.

Embassy (Manila) Phone Number (and email)
(632) 301-2000, extension 5184 or 5185 (local number: USEM 3012000 loc 5184/5185 call them around 3-4:30pm)
** (214) 571-1600 or (646) 254-3546 (these are USA numbers)
NEW EMAIL ADDRESS
In order to serve our visa applicants more efficiently, we have created this new e-mail address:
IVMNLAppointments@state.gov , for early appointment requests and visa scheduling issues. Please note, however, that early appointment requests will be approved on a case to case basis (i.e., aging out cases, or in cases involving personal or medical emergencies), and only if visa interview slots are available.
For other immigrant and K visa concerns, please send an e-mail to IVManilaReplies@state.gov
.
To enable us to electronically sort the messages and provide better, more timely responses, you should follow the instructions below.
The subject line of your email should indicate the visa applicant's last name, first and middle name (ex. DOE, John James), case number/USCIS receipt number, visa category and priority date.
Messages should be limited to 500 characters or less.
The mail size should not be more than 15 KB.
Do not submit documentation or attachments with your message as our system is unable to receive inquiries with attachments.
Do not send your inquiry more than once as duplicate inquiries will congest our system and delay our response time.

Have copies of passport bio page, confirmation page from scheduling interview online at embassy, and of course the 2X2 photos. (copy of annulment is asked for at times)
http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/
Preregister at St. Luke's, it saves time when you arrive.
CFO: ALL exiting required to attend. Things have changed with CFO, for sure follow the link and read the website
Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.
Congrats and God bless your journey
wow. this is very informative. thank you so much! god bless you!

Hi. We got our MNL# today. NVC said we should wait until the embassy contacts me. I think they are going to send me a package with the instructions on what to do next. That might take a couple more weeks and we dont want to wait. haha. Can we pay for the visa fee already since we only need the MNL# to do that so we can set the interview? Or should we wait for the package from USEM. thanks a lot!
-
Once case is completed at the NVC, they will contact the USEM and set an interview for the applicant. My case completed Jan 29 and they emailed me Feb 2 to inform that my visa interview has been scheduled on March 6. February is fully booked already. Blessings on your journey.
is it the same for k1? coz from what i have read for K1 visa, you have to pay at BPI first before you could set an interview with USEM coz they will need the receipt of payment.

1-877-CIS-4MIL (1-877-247-4645)
They are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (CST), excluding federal holidays.
After hours they will give you an email address but i always found it easier to deal with a real person over the phone if you can make the hours
copy that. we'll call them Monday. thank you.
-
are you done with your medical exam sis?
Not yet. we're still waiting for the MNL# from NVC. i hope we can get the interview scheduled within this month.
-
Got our NOA2 yesterday. minutes after they received my fiance faxed G325a form!!! just waiting for the hard copy. and MNL# on NVC. finally. we're almost done. Hope you guys would get yours soon! CSC IS FINALLY MOVING!!!! yay!

question, how do they schedule interviews at the USEM? since you are scheduled March, does that mean that February's already full? I was hoping to have my interview scheduled maybe within this month. would that be possible?
-
THank you again everyone!
we are very excited! hope it doesn't take long for us to get an interview date, coz we would love to celebrate our birthdays together this year on April 19th! again, soooooo excited!
-
Congrats!
Quick question, who receives the NOA2 or RFE? The petitioner or the beneficiary?
The petitioner. Since he is the one who passed the K1 package, they are gonna ask RFEs from him. the beneficiary can only get RFEs during his/her interview.

Congrats! Was the 27th the date that was said on the 'initial interview' part on USCIS? Because if so, that's ours too! I;m not sure what date they go by, thats why i'm asking!
Congrats!
the 27th? july 27th was when we got the NOA1.
-
Thank you everyone! for those who are still waiting, remember that good things happen to those who wait. God bless you all!
-
Congratulations
I just checked your timeline, it looks like you put RFE in instead of NOA2. I hope we get ours this month. Our NOA1 is July 23. Best Wishes.
what happened was they called my fiance today to fax them the G325a form coz he forgot to sign it. then minutes after he faxed them, we got the email!
CSC is finally moving!!!
-
OMG!!! I'm in tears. just got the email from USCIS! got that long awaited NOA2 at last! after more than 6 months! Thank GOD! we are finally almost there.
-
First of all, congrats!!! That is awesome!!!
Second, what do you mean, USCIS called your fiance for an RFE? They do that?
Thanks. yeah. apparently they do or maybe because of all the service request we made. i dont really know. haha. the person working on our case called him. My fiance already faxed the G325a. She said we should be hearing from them within a week. CSC is finally moving! good luck to us all!

Well, I'm always hesitant to say yes, because I don't know your embassy's exact requirements. However, if the purpose is to satisfy the interviewer's curiosity as to whether your fiance makes enough to support you and he is genuinely in the USMC, those SHOULD meet that criteria.
I should also add that if he can get a letter signed by his Commander, or supervisor, etc. in his command's letterhead that attests that he is in fact a member of the USMC and what his postion/job is, that should also be accepted by the embassy as proof of employment.
I know, a lot of "shoulds," but everyone is different, so I can't really predict the outcome.
Thank you so much. You've been very helpful. I think we're gonna do just that and we'll call our embassy too just to make sure.
-
ok. thank you so much for the help guys. does any of you know the number for the military help line? he wants to call them just to be sure.
-
OMG OMG OMG!!!! USCIS just called my fiance for an RFE!!! yes, it's an RFE but that makes me very happy coz now i know that they are already working on our case. that's way better than waiting for over six months without anything from them. all she wants is for my fiance to fax her his G235a form coz he forgot to sign it. She said everything else looks ok. Im so happy. We are gonna have that NOA2 soon! thank God!

Well, there are a few documents he can provide, I think he may be talking about his Leave & Earnings Statement (LES). The LES specifies which branch of service you are in, how much in taxes you pay out of that paycheck (you are issued an LES for each month of pay), and how much in wages you get, although while helpful, will probably not satisfy all the requirements necessary. It's basically a pay stub. If he sends you his statement of service letter, his last W-2 or last couple W-2s, and a few LES's (the past six months is usually what I do), that should be sufficient to prove his employment and income level. He can get the W-2 and LES's on MyPay, and I'm not sure how the Marines keep their records, but for the Air Force we have something called the Automated Records Management System (ARMS), which digitally allows us to access every official document concerning our service and print it out or review it if need be, so if the USMC has an equivalent to that, he can use that.
Ok. I am gonna let him read your message. coz he said he needed someone who can translate the documents needed, like someone who can talk military. haha. So you're saying we should be prepared with statement of service letter, last couple of W2s and LES for the past six months? the embassy will accept that?

Hi, we are currently on the process of expediting our case. We were told we are gonna hear from them on February 3rd. So as a preparation, i made my fiance a checklist of the things i would need from him for my interview (which i also got from this site). My fiance is in the USMC. he said that his proof of employment, tax statements, and wage statement is all in one document. He wasn't sure how he would go about collecting these, because he said its different for them Marines. Is there someone here who can please tell me what documents should I have for the interview? Coz im afraid, that if he gives me that paper which contains what would usually be in 3 separate documents, the embassy might not accept it.
i just want to make sure I have everything coz we can't afford anymore delays. thanks in advance.
