I mailed in my packet on March 1st (it was signed for March 4th). Just got the email Acceptance Confirmation! Hopefully the I-797 will follow in the mail soon and then the fingerprints appointment!

Can someone tell me if I am right, if his wife already makes 13K a year and they get a 3rd person that makes from 6,000 a year + to be a joint sponser he will satisfy the requirement?

If I am right then most likely your wife works with someone that can be a joint sponser or a friend. I am sorry that's the only advice I have for you. But since she already makes 13,000, I don't think it will be so hard to find someone to fill in the rest.
