UK as well.
Did you have a medical done in the UK? Do they bother with the TST or just do an xray?

A better country than the USA? Where is that?
Everyone here wants to move to the USA. There are however many countries that beat the US on wealth per person, jobs market, education, healthcare to name but a few points.
Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Western Europe are all very sought after places for immigration and all manage to process spouse visas far quicker than the US.
-
Can seek entry without a visa, as can many others. Not just Canadians.
Canadians are in a unique position as they do not require a visa and do not require a visa waiver through the VWP. Also Canadian visitors are not part of the US visit program and therefore do not get finger printed.
In relation to OPs question 7 months is still within normal processing times is it not? I wouldn't expect much to be done while this is the case. I see from your posts you are a Canadian citizen, you still don't confirm which country you were born in?

I thought the lines at most airports were for Permanent Residents & USC and another for visitors.
How will your husband file the affidavit of support for a new greencard if you are in financial trouble?
-
Out of interest are we talking about shortened versions of the same name, such as Alex and Alexander, or something completely different?
-
congrats. When were you last documents scanned?
We sent all the documents together. They were received by the NVC on the 2nd June but didn't bother opening the package until after the 14th July. Got a false checklist on the 7th July.

Case complete at NVC today
Does anyone know when the interview for the London embassy may fall? I have a holiday booked in August but don't want to cause delays due to that.

You could potentially adjust status although the circumstances of you entering the US will be very relevant.
-
So received case complete today from the NVC.
Does anyone know when the interview might be and when the notice would be given?
I already have a holiday booked for August but will cancel if I have to.

It is based on the length of marriage at the point of entry, although some people have trouble if their anniversary was between the interview and entry.
Under 2 years marriage (CR1) you get a conditional green-card and have to apply for removal of conditions. Over 2 years marriage (IR1) you don't need to remove conditions although the green-card itself needs to be renewed every 10 years.

I'm not really sure what they are doing with our case.
Last they sent a notice requesting civil documents but the notice didn't contain a check list just said go to this website to see what documents are needed.
Today my wife called them and they said they had received a package on our file on the 2nd June but had not got around to processing it, and their target is 30 business days (tomorrow).
Sigh coming up on 4 months since NOA2.

Nich-Nick,
Thank you for that! I would have replied sooner but didnt receive an email in my inbox on Gmail. I just happened to log in and check the post. We will postpone the medical then as my husband wanted to lose a bit of weight and wants to get his blood sugar levels a bit better anyways. We should have the I-864 & I-864A from my sister and her husband any day now so that was really the last thing. Its really frustrating as I really want the whole thing done and over but then not being able to do it as you dont want the visa to expire too early. Its not a problem traveling over before it would expire but we are trying to save as much as we can before we move.
Thanks again for all your help. I sincerely appreciate it.
His weight and blood sugar won't affect issuing a visa.

Looking at your info, how long did it take for TSC to send your petition to NVC?
Couple days to send, a long time to be logged in at the NVC.

You got to remember every country is allotted a certain amount of Visas when used up they are gone. All you can do is wait.Your PD isn't current so back in the queue everyone is. So now we are at 01May2012 that's a long way back so all the 2013 have a wait. Sorry.
That doesn't apply to immediate relatives of US citizens.

It sounds like you have been traveling on a Canadian passport which is the only reason you have been let in as it is the only country not to require a visa or visa waiver.
On the forms for the I-130 there are sections about other passports held, other citizenship and US visas. They will also ask if you have overstayed.
-
The UK does not care about your greencard, they will only want to see your passport. The 6 month rule depends on your country of citizenship, depending on that you may need a visa prior to travel.
-
If you submitted an I-130 in 2014 you aren't doing that bad. Although getting better it is still a slow process.

If he is required to file taxes and does not you may run into issues with him being a co-sponsor. You do not need a W-2 to prove income, just tax returns/transcripts a proof of ongoing income would also be useful such as an employment letter or retirement benefits.
Here is the guide for starting the process: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

You need to call the NVC to clarify your case number if they have sent you the wrong one. I think the number is (603) 334-0700.

CR-1 visa are very rarely denied, especially at the I-130 stage. I would be more concerned about that at this point, if she visited you for 6 months and has visited before there must be some evidence of your ongoing relationship.
In relation to the visitor visa, you have been denied for a K1 and CR-1 visa. There is clearly immigrant intent and you have denied immigrating the legal way, they will likely think you intend to stay in the US and adjust status.
-
Unless you are a Canadian citizen your entry into Canada is not guaranteed.
If you plan to do volunteer work as a visitor in Canada you need to be careful about the role, something can still be consider work even as a volunteer.
Finally you will need to show you can support your wife in the US, I imagine that may be hard if you are not working.
-
I don't know how well it would fly with a police officer or whether it would be legal to drive on as you're not a tourist, but I have heard of people keeping their UK licence. Unless you have a medical condition that would be unexpired.
-
I don't see an issue. Under the black ink is faint red ink saying March 2014. Looks like they have just put the date your entry would expire on top.
Same Sex Binational Couples in I-130 Processing
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports

At least some couples have the opportunity to be together in another first world country that provides marriage equality such as the UK and Canada.
Any expedite should really prioritize couples that were forced apart by laws on both sides of the border.
It's a shame that this is even a conversation, most 1st world nations manage to process spouse visas in 2 weeks - a month. It is a disgrace how long the US takes for any couple.
