  1. My status finaly changed to "Oath ceremony notice was mailed" !!! :D I still don't know the date and location, but I will give you an update as soon as I find out. So approximately it's going to be 16 months since I applied until the actual oath ceremony. My case was pretty straight forward, no name change... I guess it just takes so long for this process. Good luck everyone else who are still in this process!

  2. Hi, I am on the same boat. I had my citizenship interview on August 7th, 2017 (I got a paper with a decision "Congratulations your case was recommended for approval", something along those lines). 2 - 3 weeks later my status changed to in line for oath...etc. Until now I did not receive the oath letter. I contacted my senator's office and they contacted USCIS and they told them everything is ok with my case, it's just they don't have the oath ceremony date for me (there was one oath ceremony recently and that's why I was worried). I was told that I just need to keep waiting. Hopefully I will get the letter soon.

just wonder if nowadays folks from ND,SD are doing interviews ONLY at MSP office ?

    Hi! :)

No, I had my interview here in Bismarck, ND. My biometrics was in Fargo, ND. My oath ceremony is going to be either in Fargo, Bismarck or in Minot. But, I am still waiting for the letter. I will start calling senator's office next week. This waiting doesn't make sense - it's been almost 4 months since I had the interview and I got "Congratulations...etc". Good luck!

I filled my n400 application on January 21 2017. On July 20 I had my exam where I passed it. Today is November 15 and I still didn't receive my oath letter. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Unfortunately you are not the only one. I had my interview on August 7th, 2017 - my online status changed to Oath ceremony will be scheduled in September, but until now I still haven't received the actual oath ceremony letter. I talked to some other members here on visajourney, although they are all from my area (North Dakota). Some of them are waiting since April 2017 to receive an oath letter. Not sure what's going on. I will probably submit an e-request next month if I don't receive anything by then.

    Good luck!

  5. Hi guys! :) I had my interview in Bismarck ND and I was told that the oath ceremony will be either in Fargo, Minot or Bismarck (I include Moorhead, MN in Fargo too because they are next to each other). Also, I had several friends who had their oath ceremony in Fargo and live in this area, so I don't think it's going to be in Minneapolis. BTW, my interview was on August 7th and my status changed after a few weeks to "Oath ceremony will be scheduled..." Unfortunately, that does not mean that I will get my oath letter within 30 days from that status, rather 30 days when they actually send it. It's been more than 6-7 weeks since they put me in line for the oath ceremony. I will keep you posted, good luck everyone! :D

  6. Hi guys :) I had my biometrics appointment in Fargo ND this February, but they scheduled my citizenship interview in Bismarck ND (I am from Bismarck). I wonder why you have to go all the way to Minneapolis for your appointment. I was also wondering about other people from ND, but no luck...there is just a few of us or they just don't use visajourney. Good luck!

  7. Finally!! I got my interview letter. :) Can please someone update my table - I was in line for the interview since 02/22/2017, today I got the letter (07/10/2017) and my interview is going to be here in Bismarck on 08/07/2017. I was really surprised, usually it is in Fargo (I had my biometrics appointment in Fargo). Also, my husbands name is not spelled correctly - it is Luka, not Luca.

Thanks and good luck to all! :)

  8. Pozdrav svima!

    Srecno svima! :dancing:

  9. Oh my god how scary!!

however, this guy got his final divorce paper before he get an answer for his pending 751

in my case i will most likely get the answer before my divorce is final

if you have time can you please read this and let me know what do you think

    https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Laws/Memoranda/Static_Files_Memoranda/2009/i-751_Filed_%20Prior_Termination_3apr09.pdf

Honestly I'm not sure...I just know some other stories. I still think that you need to call uscis and let them know. It's going to be longer process now, but if you are planning to apply for citizenship, it's going to be a lot more complicated if you don't tell them(not to mention that now you have to wait 5 years before you apply, instead of 3). Considering that some ROC applications are 12 months + you might get your divorce finalized before you get your 10 year gc.

  10. I have been trying to find where is said that for hours , an attorney told me that also, but i cant seem to find it ...

also by any chance , do you know what if she decided not to show up for the interview , i know i can change it to wavier 751 at the time

but that is about it right ?

because i do not think she would attend since she is trying to steal my money and there is going to be some fights over it

Even if you get your 10 year green card, you might have problems later when you apply for citizenship. Read this article. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/254908-n400-denied-based-on-prior-i-751-divorce/

I believe that you need to re-apply again with divorce waiver.

    Good luck!

  11. The same thing happened to me - I received my bio letter within 10 days after filing but never received my extension letter. Turned out it was never even sent.

Call USCIS and ask to speak to a tier 2 officer. They will be able to se whether or not the letter has been sent and will get it sent out if not.

Alternatively, as I did, go to your nearest USCIS office and ask for an extension stamp. Or do both, just in case.

I received my NOA1 letter after 22 days (from the moment they sent it). So at least I don't have to worry about that anymore. Next stop...biometrics appointment :)

  12. Now what will you do when the extension letter expires, and still no 10 year Green Card received yet ?

As I know, time frame for ROC is usually between 6 and 8 months. Maybe 10% of all cases wait longer than that... But if that happens, you must have I-551 stamp in your passport to extend your legal status until you receive your new green card.

  13. I don't believe this.

Sure, a small employer with no experience may do no checking.

But large employers have the experience to enter the expiration date of the first 2 year green card into their data base.

When that date comes near . . . they will certainly look to employee for further authorization.

Same will happen when the one year extension date comes near.

This is true because my employer asked for extension letter.
