  1. I feel you Haggarda Versoza about being employed and getting all this papers done. I am still working too and geez I want to quit coz I cant do things quickly bcoz of work. ( i like your username coz in gay linggo i know what it means LOL)

Hahahaha!! Ikr :-P just thought of using it because of the entire K1 process haha
  2. What branch did you go to? I'm going to have my fiance avoid that one.

And an open question to all, Hank, etc...

Which is the best branch to go to in terms of fast/ease of processing?

According to the lady from NBI Manila it's an auto hit if for travel use or abroad. The green paper. First I got it from Robinsons but they will release it Aug20th which is far too late and my interview is Aug 12. So I went to NBI Main site in UN Taft and Hit again release of Aug 13. The next day, I went back to UN Taft branch and had it expedited according to Benjjoy. I was able to get it that day.

You need to tell Mylene to get her NBI asap. You wouldn't know if she'll get a hit or not until she will apply asap. And the best branch is NBI UN Taft

  3. SLEC can accommodate applicants every Friday as well right? I am planning to go on SLEC for Medical this Friday to allow time for my period and then come back on Monday for vaccines (if mine is 2-day medical). I feel weird for doing this, but has anyone done this before? It's completely normal right? The reason that I'm doing this is because I'm still employed and I needed to limit my absences to 1 day a week only. Such a pain when you're still employed.

  4. Is your previous copy less than 1 year old?

It's odd that it takes so long for them to do this. My fiancee got her's the same day in Davao (but no issue with name).

Yes, I just got it March 2013. The lady told me that when getting a green form, it's an Auto-Hit because they need to "triple check" my record; and I was surprised that some of you got their NBI clearances on the same day while I'm suffering here lol.

  5. Thanks Hank, yes, this is all I got upon paying online. The Merchant Reference Number may be also the Receipt number but it wasn't my passport number, it was a reference I got from the usatraveldocs website while making the online payment. So far so good and I was able to schedule it, only that there was no official receipt since I paid online, I'll just print a copy of this just in case.

  6. I brought the receipt from the one of the satellite branches and showed it to them along with my previous copy of NBI clearance. smile.png

Try to go there in the afternoon 'cos it's a lot quicker and there are only a few people requesting for clearance. smile.png

Good luck on your journey! I hope you'll get your clearance before your interview. 'Cos it'll delay your visa a bit when you have missing documents.

Thank you! I will try to go back there tomorrow afternoon and bring along my previous copy of NBI. I really hope that the lady who helped you is still there.

  7. Hi. I suggest you go to the main branch at UN ave as they can expedite that for you. I applied for an NBI clearance at one of their satellite branches on Thursday (7-25). I was really hoping that I wouldn't have any problems and would get it that day. But boy was I wrong. They gave me a piece of paper stating that I should come back on Aug 15. I was like, oh hell nah. My interview is on the 30th of july (which was earlier today). They said that they have to comply to the embassy's request to triple check records even if your name doesn't have any "hit". So I went directly to the main branch and spoke with someone and she put a priority note on my receipt and tada, I got my clearance that same day!

Just bring your previous copy 'cos they will that get that from you when they expedite your request. Good luck! smile.png

You mean previous copy of NBI Clearance? And Whom did you talk to? I can't find any staff who's kind to answer my inquiry regarding the expedite process.

  8. I experienced the same thing last year they asked me to come back a week after my scheduled interview and i also had my ticket to Manila at that time so i asked one of the staff if they could expedite my clearance as i need it for my interview at the embassy (it differs from branches to branches i guess) and they ok'd my request under a condition of paying extra for the so-called "long distance" idk where but yea i got it after few days.

I also gave the same advice before for someone here in vj who had the same problem and the staff ok'd his request too but he didnt pay extra anymore so i would suggest that you ask the staff if there is a way to expedite your clearance as you need it for your interview.

If they will not grant the request i have read some thread here too that they received 221g at the embassy and then mailed the NBI clearance after they received it and got their visa.

Hope this helps.God bless your journey :)

Hi ryro, thank you very much for sharing this. I just got out of Nbi main branch in UN Taft and now I got a date earlier of Aug 13 which is still pass my interview date I guess I have to try my luck on continuing my interview at the embassy and just mail it. My only question now is how long will it take for me to process my visa if there will be any difference. Well no one knows it depends. But i would just pursue my interview then. I'll look for that thread and what happened to the beneficiary after getting a form 221g.

  9. This is weird, I never had problems getting an NBI clearance, my last NBI clearance was this year of March and never had problem although it is for employment.

But today, staff told me to come back Aug 20th (my interview is Aug 12th) because I may have a duplicate name which I feel very impossible. I never had problems before. Now I don't know what to do, I feel there's something wrong with the branch where I got my NBI said they can expedite it I already have a flight ticket. Very unlikely!! Tomorrow I will go to the main branch in UN Taft, and see what will happen, if hit I am hoping it would only take weeks.

Any had experience like this before?! How did you go about it? I don't want to reschedule my interview anymore ugh.

  10. Seriously tampon?! Haha just kidding :-P I myself wouldn't try that lol its uncomfortable.

Anyways back to the topic. I just want to clarify. So SLEC do count one week from the last day of your last period? I am still really confuse. My last day was Yesterday and I am already set on Thursday for medical but this is holding me because some says they might do gyne exam?

Please advice me if I will pursue on Thursday. I don't want to wait until next week as I want to have a few days gap before my interview and I can only make absences from my work Thursday or Fri because workload isn't heavy . my schedule interview is Aug 12

  11. I'm a fiance of a US Navy who's currently stationed in Japan. We will get married in states with K1 visa (we are actually still in the process). My question is after marriage while waiting for AOS, he will need to go back to Japan after a month and I will be left alone in the US of course I want to follow him in Japan and I have to be there for him. Can I leave US while AOS is on process? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

  12. I know very little about this as I am not a dr and I'm a guy lol

    BUT

I'm thinking logically that since they will be giving you a gynecological exam, looking inside you(sorry to be blunt), they may notice something.

What if there is traces of your period and they then think if its been a week already this should not be here making them think something else is wrong with you leading to delays.

Follow the instructions, you have likely waited eons like the rest of us for these last steps in this part of the journey so it's exciting....I get it... but you should wait.

    Just my 2 cents

    Good luck.

Ooh. So doctors are performing gyne exam as well. Hmm yes you're right about this part and I'm excited about it hehe. So yes just to be on a safe side I'm going to have my medical a week after my last. Thanks for the advice!

  13. I just had to join this discussion. Uh oh. I just had my period last Thursday and today is my last day then I read from SLEC that one should go on medical one week after the last day. But I'm now planning to go to st. Lukes on Thursday for my medical. I'm seriously thinking of just faking my last men's date? I don't think they have a way to track your real cycle do they?
