  1. Hey, welcome to the thread!

Yeah, most of my friends did too, and most of them are now worried for an RFE because one (She's a Late August Filer) already got an RFE for lacking the I-693. So I guess it really just depends on the person handling your case. Some get lucky without it. Some don't.

But, in any case, good luck! biggrin.png

Ekk hopefully no RFE for me, checked the check list of I-693 here at VJ and my DS Form has it all everything (age inappropriate, may require blanket waiver etc) Anyways, I read the I-485 many times and it said there:

    C. Fiance/K1 Visa: If you are a K-1 fiancee or K2 who had a medical exam within past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiance, you only need to submit vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You include the vaccination supplement with your form I-485.

UGH!! Whew, well Praying there will be no RFE on my end as Civil Surgeon is thousand miles away.

  2. There is an announcement pasted on walls that CFO no longer have any transaction with Arturo Socrates, he is no longer an employee at the CFO, he was terminated since September 10 as far as I remember. The announcement was posted only last September 25.

Arturo was my counselor. Did you know why was he terminated? Like terminated or resigned??

  3. Hi guys! Well, with the help of my MIL, we filed our paperwork sometime on October 1, 2013. We haven't received any receipt or notice they got it yet though.

We did the same thing and just had a copy of my medical vaccinations in the package. My husband and I did discuss it and he said we could just wait till they ask us to supply a form I-693. Reading the instructions, the K1 need not give a I-693 but could instead provide a copy of the medical supplement (the DS 3025) they were given during the medical required for the K1 prior to coming to the US. However, I've been reading some (mostly from the Philippines) who have been required to provide I-693. sleep.png Que sera sera. Whatever will be, will be.

I just submitted my AOS package Oct 3rd, 2013 last Thursday, and we don't have I-693 and just provided my DS 3025 from St. Lukes Medical. I'm now worried of RFE lol. But I know two people (VJers) they just submitted DS 3025 without any problem, no RFE.

  4. Just want to share my AOS packet, getting ready to send them today

  5. My DS-3025 Result is "Vaccine History Incomplete," then "Applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver because vaccination not medically appropriate" check box is checked. So upon reading in this forum, I need to see a Civil Surgeon to transcribe it to I-693, my question is, do Civil Surgeon already have this form, or do I need to print it for them?? LOL. Silly question it is.

  6. Thank you everyone for the reply. I thought I was alone in this and Ithank eve ryone who shared their experience here and the experience of their loved one who were on the same boat like me.

For the poster who asked, nope my husband and his ex doesn't have a child. Maybe the Bachelorette party with his ex was the craziest thing has ever happened to me. And will never forget it, and probably, can never change the way I feel his mom for choosing that house, she's a lil crazy no matter how nice she is she will be still the mom in law that will not get along wonderfully.

Thank you everyone, if there's someone here who's having trouble adjusting to, bored at times PM me so we can share sentiments we can chat or talk.

  7. Just got married. When I first arrived here, finally met my husband's family, the day after that, attended a birthday party and met lots of people. I should have known what I've gotten into but man, their English accent was very difficult to understand!! (Mainer accent) lol . So that's one thing. I'm still adjusting to the their accent. I feel bad as sometimes I can't talk to them conversely and I'm afraid that they think I'm not a nice girl. Any usggestion would help!

But anyways what bothering me is the weirdness. Not sure if this is an American thing but, just before the wedding, we had Bachelorette party and guess what, we had it at my husband's ex house, and she was at the Bachelorette party too. As I didn't plan the party, it was his mom planned it. I felt extremely awkward while answering some questions during the fun game while his ex was there. His ex never talked to me by the way.

Another thing, I'm scared of his family as they tend to speak negative about other people, simple mistake is big deal for them. Is this an American thing as well? They tend to hold grudge against person 's mistake.

Any ways just venting here, no need to reply but any comments would help. I have no friends here other than myself. I'm going crazy can't make friends as neighborhood are elderly (town are for elderly people), no filipinos around the area. I'm completely alienated.

  8. I just want to thank everyone for the all the help and patience in answering all myl K1 visa related questions. I finally made it to US arrived here at Ellsworth, Maine yesterday, not much Filipinos in here which is quite a challenge. But their neighborhood is wonderful.

I was the immigration counter really quick compared to the other girl with K1 visa as well. I guess I am just really lucky.

All are very nice. I am now exposed to a real and interesting American culture what do they usually eat, how to celebrate birthday and etc. I forgot to bring my tabo or dipper ugh.

My husband to be will be arriving soon. Yes I came here first before him because he is based in Japan right now Yay. His family is just wonderful and he will be arriving on the 5th.

This forum has helped so much and just one thing I learned don't mess up with legendary VJers or else you don't get what you asking for haha lol. I just wish everyone knows this forum it'll make their lives easier.

Please don't forget to read Hanks guide ;-)

  9. Ahhh, the age old "sponsor's mother's maiden name" question. Well-documented here, but I feel sorry for non-VJers who attend CFO and don't know it. I bet there were several frantic phone calls being made while you watched!

HAHA correct! This forum help so much big time!! :-D Although I already know his mom's maiden name even before, we pretty getting along well with each other that helps too woot!

  10. Documents I brought at CFO:

    • Photocopy of Passport
    • Photocopy of Visa
    • 2 Photos to proof relationship
    • Passport with Visa

    Documents they asked upon entrance:

    • Photocopies of 2 valid IDs (PRC and Voter's ID)
    • Photocopy of Passport
    • Photocopy of Visa

During one-on-one interview (before the seminar):

    • Photos

You will fill-out a form that asks you the following:

    • Your fiancee's/fiance's highest educational attainment
    • Fiancee's/fiance's job
    • Fiancee's/fiance's mother's maiden name (a lot of applicants doesn't know this when I was there)
    • Address in the US and contact number

I arrived at CFO Manila around 7 a.m., August 27th, (Tuesday) and the first 15 applicants were already inside, meaning, I will be scheduled for afternoon session. I needed to wait then! It's like a whole day seminar! Good thing I met two girls for chit-chats and we became instant friends.

Around 7:30, the guard started to let us in, and the lady asked for photocopies of two valid IDs and photocopy of passport or passport with Visa. I filled out a registration form online so I wasn't given a registration paper anymore. Then we were given our ID needed to be worn all the time inside their premises. We were told to be seated in the Waiting Area (basement) and wait to be called around 10 a.m.

Around 8 a.m., bored. All of us 3 were just playing Candy Crush and when we ran out of lives, we decided to eat at Jollibee across the road. Mind you, crossing the road was difficult lol. It's like a killer highway. We spent almost an hour and half in the Jollibee and we decided to go back. The two are smokers and I'm not so I waited for them to finished then we went inside again.

Around 9:50 a.m. they finally told us to go to the 3rd floor for Registration. First lady was sort of conducting an initial interview, questions are more about your fiance/fiancee or spouse, his middle, his mother's full name when she was single, etc. Then she handed another form to fill-out.

While I was filling-out the form, I overheard the first lady, "papakasalan mo hindi mo alam pinag-aralan niya? kahit pangalan ng nanay di mo rin alam.." In English, "you will marry him and you don't know his education background? you don't even know his mother's name.."

Second lady, she asked those questions again, then she took my picture. You can smile in photo she said. I really found those ladies working at CFO very nice, but if you don't know the answers to their questions, prepare your dignity.

After registration, we were asked to go back 2 p.m., and since it was only 10:30 a.m. that time, we decided to spend time at nearby PureGold by taking Pedicab. Food trip. Then around 1:15 p.m. we headed back to the CFO Building and some were already being interview (one-on-one).

There's a group of girls there who were so loud from the outside and when we came in, they became quiet, more eyes on me than the two girls I was with (I felt weird). Then upon taking our seats, they started to chit-chat again. Then my name was called.

    Questions asked:

    • Full name of your fiance
    • Where did you meet
    • When did you meet and when did you first meet personally
    • How old are you
    • How old is your fiance
    • Can I see some of your photos (the interviewer said we look cute together)

The interview lasted for more or less 5 minutes only.

After all applicants were done, seminar has finally started. We were group into three to share our plans about marriage, love and relationship. The facilitator of our group was really curious of my age and when I told her I'm 26 and her mouth fell open. She thought I was only 18-20, no wonder why they were looking at me when we entered the room? From the look of their face, a minor attending a fiance/spousal seminar LOL.

Overall, I really enjoyed the seminar, and learned a lot, it's a combination of marriage counseling and preparing yourselves once you get to the US. All were normal. No issues, was given our GC and passport with sticker. It was beautiful.
