  1. Hello,

Hope you all are doing good. Thank you in advance.

I was filing out my N400 application and on  Part 8. Information About Your Employment and Schools You Attended.

List where you have worked or attended school full time or part time during the last five years. Provide information for the complete time period. Include all military, police, and/or intelligence service. Begin by providing information about your most recent or current employment, studies, or unemployment (if applicable). Provide the locations and dates where you worked, were self-employed, were unemployed, or have studied for the last five years. If you worked for yourself, type or print "self-employed." If you were unemployed, type or print "unemployed." If you need extra space, use additional sheets of paper.)

My question is...  I was not working in 2017  but I was doing  Self Study  at  home  from   06/28/2017  till  02/23/2018  to take  Personal care home administrator  license exam.  What should I write   ''STUDENT OR UNEMPLOYED'' ?

  3. That is great, congratulations. Which do you think actually helped, the congressional inquiry or the ombudsman request (which did you do most recently)? Did the ombudsman respond quickly?

We did congressional inquiry, but it generated a fairly generic, non-committal response. Thinking about doing Ombudsman request next

Thanks Friend. for me infopass worked i stay thire from morning 07:00 Am till 02:00 Pm and then immigration officer came to me and promise me that he will find my file and work on it as soonas possible. Please read my updates.

    Thanks,

    Dr. KunaL

    Finally! CongratS

    THANKS Friend.

    Congratulations Dr. KunaL !!!!

    thanks friend

Thank you for your informative answer, 1.618!

I actually called USCIS again after reading your answer, and indeed the lady confirmed what I was afraid of, that my AP no longer is valid from the day I got my approval. sad.png

So either I had to wait until I get my GC, which could take another 4 weeks in worse case, or get an Infopass appointment and ask for an I-551 stamp on my passport. I got an appointment next Monday, I hope to get my welcome letter by then, if not I just have to try with a copy and the others documentation that I have. Cross fingers again!

Well, I just hope for the best! Things are going my way now, so I am happy, even though this should have happened lot earlier!!

To Jim/Jan: I think you should call the NO office if you have a number to call to. If they don't want to give out information over the phone, try to do an Infopass again. But I am sure you'll hear something from them pretty soon. Good luck!!

Congrats to Dr. KunaL. Happy for you!

PS. While I was writing this, I got a msg from USCIS that my card is in production! YEAH!!

Don't think that I will get in on time, leaving on Tuesday, but at least I will get it soon!

    Congrats to you and thanks.

  5. Hello Everyone,
I just came back from My local Hialeah, Florida immigration office and the new news is that They have my file in the local office they got it on june-15-2013. It can take two week more. They told me that the officer, who is having your file is not working today so we cant give you all information on your file. They give me emergency appointment for tomorrow morning between 07:00 a.m till 08:00 a.m, supervisor told me that you can find all information on your case from your officer who is working on it and you can meet him tomorrow. Its sad that officers are taking days off every time.I have been there two time and officer not working and immigration office don't care about that anymore, its like kinder garden for them. WORST immigration office ever.
    Thanks,

    Dr. KunaL

  6. We were told at one point that our file was going to be transferred to our local field office, which is Salt Lake City, Utah. Today the USCIS time line for the Salt Lake office says it is processing AOS applications from 21st November 2012. If our case was transferred, we would have been approved quite some time ago.

In reality, our case was not transferred. It stayed at the NBC until our approval yesterday.

In my opinion, I think this is what is happening with a lot of our cases. Congressmen, Ombudsmen, infopass staff and USCIS call centre staff can only advise you based on the information they are given, and that is very little from what I can tell. We received a letter a little while ago saying our case needed additional review and to expect a response within 9 months. That, of course, is not an accurate letter. It simply meant they wanted us to stop making enquiries on our case - likely because they know they are behind and they're getting far too many enquiries than they can handle. I personally think that this is why they're not giving a processing time for the NBC. There's too many cases to keep an accurate track of.

As it was explained to me in the early stages of our K1/I-129F application, each USCIS staff member is given a pile of cases which is ordered from oldest to newest. They start with the oldest and work their way through. E.g. Person A might receive a pile that starts from a filing date August 1st to October 1st. Person B might receive a pile that starts from a filing date October 1st to November 1st. Obviously Person B's October 1st file would be approved before Person A's October 1st file because of where it is in their pile.

Patience is hard. I've certainly gotten frustrated more than once about the lengthy time it has taken to check off our documents and order a card to be printed. I'm not immune to complaining about this awful process and the USCIS. But rest assured everyone's case is in someone's pile and will be reviewed - Hopefully sooner rather than later.

    Good luck everyone!!!

Thanks for the information. And congrats to you.

  7. Well all you can do is wait really....hope it goes fast.

Also you should try to explain yourself a little better as is very dfficult to understand (4 days file in 1 month, week files , etc...)

    Good luck!

Last months they clear files till August/25/2012 and today I check processing time line of my local field office which is August/30/2012 . So in one month they clear only 5 days files only.

    Thanks for your time.

  8. My local Hialeah, Florida immigration office finished 4 days files in 1 month. I don't know what they are doing and how they work at least I know that they are not working on Friday . Last month they finished 2 week file and now they come to the point that they work only 4 days a week and progress is 4 days file not even one week files they finish in 1 Month. Damn Worst WORST immigration office. I have no idea what to do now.? I made another info pass.

  9. I just came back from my local Hialeah, Florida immigration office (infopass) , they are so Slow and they are unable to find my file ( i hope they didn't LOST it ), after waiting 1 hours lady called me and goes that your file is in our officae we got it on june-15-2013 and hopefully you will get any information or interview lwtter in two weeks after waiting 10 months and 2 weeks ( thats stupid). So i have to wait twoo week to make sure that they find my file and after that i will have interview. There officers are not working on friday. i dont understand why immigration officaer do not work on friday.? so my field office work only 4 days a week and friday till sundau they have holidays.? WORST immigration office.

  10. OZ62.

You are right Hialeah , Florida office is the worst office for immigration and last night in checked time line for green card for all local immigration office in United States , ONLY ONLY this HIALEAH , Florida office is working on mid of August rest all offices working on November , December or 4 months only.

I made info pass and I'm going on 07-12-2013, I hope I will get good news for September files. Hope they will tell that we are working on September files.
