Word of advice, file your I-751 asap your window opens up to allow time for annoying mishaps! We got NOA1 on June 25 and we had an appointment date for July 21st. We NEVER GOT THE NOTICE because it turned out the irresponsible mailman delivered it into the wrong mailbox (to my next door neighbor) and my irresponsible neighbor didn't go through her stack of mail for two weeks! She finally came over to my door (Friday July 24) with it!

I-130 Question- How valid are overseas marriages? Are they accepted in the US? We were recently married in Morocco and living and wiring together here. I will return to teaching in NY when my contract ends, and hopefully as a couple. Someone told us that in order for the marriage to be recognized in the US the papers must be stamped in the courts (which we did) and then must be stamped in Rabat at the ministry. That is a 5 hour train ride. If it is true we will do it. But if it is recognized...

Yes, the marriage in Morocco is recognized here in the US. That was what my hubby and I did. I went there to marry him! Yes, the marriage certificate also needs to be translated to English to be included when you file your I130 petition. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I wen through the whole long process! lol

I just finished typing a late night half-rambling response to ShirahBet's profile feed. I'll say the same to you Abdo. Don't worry about what others say to get you down. You just follow the directions and read & reread the instructions and provide what they ask. Everyone's case is different. So take what the VJ critics say with a grain of salt. I'm always surprised that in a forum where people are supposed to be helping each other, there's so much negativity. If people chose the side of positivity, the world could actually change for the better.

Wishful thinking (oops, think positively) you are right but again it's reality of life. I tell myself if life would be so easy & rosy then it wouldn't be life. Again, with so much negativity, maybe when there is something positive, it's just so much better. And I guess that what makes the world go around. Anyways, I think ultimately you have to do and not give a number two about others. Hope I make sense. Good luck & best wishes!

WoW! I'm amazed by the negative and very judge mental comments on my forum post. I remember stating "I don't want to slam my ex fiancé" Meaning - I left out important info about what has happened to me by the K1 visa holder, info that's not anyone else's business.
