  1. They are listed in the first post of this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/

    1000% sure that is accurate.

    thank you Sir

As per usual Nich-Nick is correct. The only thing you may want to check is that not only have you had the TDAP, but you've had it in the last 10 years. If not you need a booster. At least that's what they told my fiance at her exam, but it was only £35 to get it there and it means we shouldn't have any hassle at the AOS so for us it was worth it

Yes I just realised that today. I do need my TDAP. so i'm gonna call my doctors tomorrow and see if they will do it for free. I'm getting an MMR for free next week so hopefully the TDAP will be too. thanks

  2. As far as I can tell from people posting on here London doesn't need that evidence from you, just the documents:)

    ok thanks a lot.

You don't need any evidence of ongoing relationship for London.

    thank you!

  3. when I take my evidence of on going relationship to the London interview, like flight tickets, letters, receipts, photos etc, do they keep them? Or do they just take the important documents that they need and let you leave with the file that you brought? thanks

  4. Passport

Passport photo, either UK or US size does not matter

    medical form

any other medical info you may need, I had a heart murmur which was fine but i got records from GP to show them so no problem.

Vaccination records if you have any.

    Money

Copy of police cert, original not needed but if you take it they will copy and return original to you.

great thank you. I have my vaccination records but not sure if what I have had in the past Is what they are after. so by any chance do you know which ones they want people to have had?

  5. You can go interview as scheduled and decide then if you have time to leave the passport. If not, you can tell the officer you have a trip planned. After the trip, send your passport to London for the visa. It used to be by DX courier, but they act like they don't do that anymore when you call them. So not sure now how that step is working.

Or if you get things rolling, request an interview that allows you to have you passport back in plenty of time for a November X trip to Europe. Tell them you will take a cancellation and are available on short notice. Get those forms in.

And these are very London specific things, so why aren't you posting in the UK forum?

Ok that's great to know that I can tell them I need my passport and send them it at a later date. Thanks! I didn't even know there was a UK forum?

  6. London will approve you on any one of those items. Having two is a good backup. You have three, so don't bother with an employer letter.

And yes, the embassy keeps your passport for a few days so they can stick the visa in it. It is returned by courier anywhere from 3 days to two weeks. No guarantees of how long it will take.

Well that's worrying. I want to get this visa asap but need my passport for a week in November. Should I request the interview to be after I have travelled in the cover letter?

  7. If you already attached your photos it's okay. Don't need more. If you get Angry Asian Lady she may frown at you, but no big deal.

Photocopies--they are going to keep anything you turn in unless you provide them with a photocopy to file.

Things you want back for sure--birth certificate, divorce decrees, deed polls, military record, financial records, etc.

Things you don't need back because you have a copy at home or on the computer--I-134, Turbo tax printout of tax return,

Just don't hand in your only copy of something. Make a copy for your records of everything including the DS forms.

The financial proofs like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements can actually be photocopies. They aren't that fussy. An employer letter should be original.

Simple rule-- Ask yourself "Do I need this original important document given back to me after the interview"? If yes, provide a photocopy. The embassy does not need multiple copies of your personal documents for their purposes. They only need one for the file.

Ok thanks I'll definitely make photo copies of important stuff that I need to keep. How important is the letter off the employer? I have everything else from my fiance, bank statements, play slips from work, the I-134 and tax stuff. But I don't have a letter off her employer. Is that something I should get her to send me?

  8. Any time! I havent had my interview yet so im also waiding through the unknown but if you have any questions message me I will try my best to help

Well good luck for your interview! I'm sure there won't be any ploblems. My fiance is visiting me from the USA for two weeks in November and we are going around Europe for a week during her time here. I'm hoping that maybe I can have the visa by the time she comes. If that was to happen and I got the visa a few days before she arrived let's say, does the embassy keep your passport for a certain amount of time? Because obviously I'm going to need it.

  9. If you have already attached your photo to the forms then thats fine. Though I would bring another photo because the embassy website states you need THREE (one of which is given at the medical) so it would stand to reason you would need to bring 2 to the interview. Are they US sized?

The most important part of the forms is the original but i have a couple of photocopies of each.

As Nich-Nick likes to say "better safe than sorry"

No I don't even have the US size passport pics yet. I'm gonna get them done in the next few days and attach them. then send my DS forms to the embassy. I'll send the DS-2001 form later because i'm still waiting for my police certificate and I'm going to have to make an appointment to get an up to date birth certificate. But if I can get these DS forms sent off then that's one less thing to do.

  10. Yea you need the long version birth cert so hold off with the readyness form for now! smile.png

Yes he did send me an updated letter of intent saying he still wanted to marry me, but i later found out this will not be required, you only need it if your NOA2 expires

Ok this is good stuff. So do you still need to take passport photos to the interview or not because we put them on one of the ds forms? also is it best to take photo copies of the original documents, along with the originals, to the interview?

This is EXACTLY how London tells you to do it. I endorse this way.

But all together works too, though I don't think it is an advantage.

    Nice one, thanks!

  11. I sent everything all together, DS forms and DS-2001 and cover letter, i sent them all in one big bunch a few days before my medical and put this on my cover letter

    Case Number: LND2*********

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to inform you that I am now ready for my interview.

    Please find enclosed DS - 230 Part 1, DS –156, DS – 157, DS- 156k and

    DS-2001

    My email address is ********

My medical exam is scheduled for 13th August 2013

My wedding date is 21st of September 2013.

    I understand you wont be

able to book my interview until my medical results have reached you. Id

be able to attend any date interview, even if its last minute with little

notice please consider me for an interview date as soon as possible. Id

very much like to have my visa by my wedding date.

    Thank you

    Yours Sincerely,

You can send the Readyness form if you have the finance docs u need and birth cert. Even if you havent had your medical yet. As long as u have these docs, you are READY. or if u are still waiting for them just send the cover note later with the readyness form

P.S note i put my wedding date is a little earlier than it actually is, they wont hold you to the wedding date you put it just means you'll get an earlier interview than someone who lists December as their wedding date

ok this is great information thanks! i'm just waiting on my police certificate to arrive. also I just noticed today that my birth certificate doesn't have my parents' names on it. so i'm gonna have to find out where to get one from. did you fiancé in the USA have to send you an intent to marry letter again? to just revalidate it?

  12. Good question! London does NOT want you to send any of your important docs, passport, birth cert, financial evidence etc. etc. through the post they want you to bring these to the interview.

All they want you to send them is the DS forms and a cover letter saying when your approx wedding date is with your email address and contact details (and any special requests i.e partner wants to come to interview with u, must request to have interview asap as flights booked already).

    smile.png

ok that helps thank you! so did you sent the cover letter with the DS forms? because again on the embassy website it says send the ds forms, then when I have all the documents I need to send the ds-2001 with a cover letter?

  13. hey, it says in this form 'the following documents must be attached in order to apply for a fiancé non-immigrant visa' and has listed items such as birth certificate, police certificate, evidence of financial support, evidence of engagement' etc. but on the London embassy website it says to send in all the forms as step 1 but step two is to gather all those documents.

so when people sent the forms ds-230 part 1, ds-156, ds-156k and ds-157 to their embassy, did you include those items? or just take them to the interview?

This part of the k1 journey gets confusing. thanks.

  14. I placed : whatever is available/accountant...then I list my high school, then college courses.

    thank you!

For the occupation..Just put in what you do Now for work..like say...when I come to the USA Im gonna apply for an electricians job..or whatever..they want to make sure your not gonna be a bum .. and the 2nd question..put all your schools since primary..smile.png

    thanks that helped a lot!

  15. Just a few quick questions, on question 32 on the DS230 form where it says 'in what occupation do you intend to work in the United States?'. If I don't really know the answer to that question what is the best answer to write?

And on question 33 on the same form where it asks ' list below all educational institutes attended?'. Is that just asking for college or universities? or high schools too?

    Thanks

  16. Thats not true at all thats what they normally say but u just gotta keep calling everyday......i was told the same thing and got my case # in a week

Why is the case number important? what do we need it for? We got our NOA2 a few days ago and don't know about anything after that stage.
