  1. Hello, I'm getting married in the USA in April. So obviously I will have family there. My sisters husband has a criminal record for assault and stealing a car (apparently when he was younger). But he has never been in jail. Will he be ok just going on an ESTA since the records are not drug related and since he has spent no time in jail? If not how does he go about getting the right visa? Thanks

  2. Photocopy of any document you want back like your birth certificate or possibly any financial proofs that are originals.

Edit--none of that listed in reply 2 is needed, wanted, or looked at in London.

Yeah I have a photocopy of my police and birth certificates to take.

It makes me nervous when some people say to take a whole copy of the I-129F petition and take down copies of all the DS applications I sent in because I don't have any of that stuff.

But then a lot say its not needed.

    thanks for your reply

  3. Hi, I have my K1 interview a week tomorrow and I'd just like to list the documents I have to take to it,

    Appointment letter

    MRV receipt

Passport with 2 USA passport size pics

    Police Certificate

    Birth Certificate

Proof of financial support (I-134 form)

(I haven't been married or anything like that so don't need divorce or marriage certificates)

Is there anything at all I'm missing?

    Thanks a lot

  4. Thanks Sarah! Now hopefully my gov't can resume functioning as normal so there are no hiccups at the embassy. I saw where others said there is a 6-8 week wait for a London interview. I hope it won't be longer than that! He plans to travel asap and we hope to be together for Christmas.

I got my interview date 2 and a half weeks after my actual medical. had my medical on september 11 and my interview is oct 16. so you never know you might get it sooner than you think.

  5. If you go here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw== and put your LND number in, it will show the status of your file.. If you notice that if the 'Status Update' date is different from the 'Case Creation' date, then that means someone has been messing around with your forms.

That is when you can call DoS at 202-485-7600. Press 1, then 0. When an operator picks up, tell them you have an update on your case and would like to know what it is about. They will ask for your case number (LND2013XXXXXX) and a few security questions about the beneficiary. Most of the time they will be able to tell you what has been done with your file.. This is when they tell you if the embassy has put your papers into their system (logged).

Thanks for your reply that's great information. Is that phone number you give me definitely right? Just because I'm trying to call it and it won't work. Probably my useless phone.

  6. I guess with being where you're at right now and the timing it makes sense to stay for Christmas. Maybe I'll do that too!

Yeah it definitely does, to me anyway. My Mam is already upset that I'm leaving the country so I can at least stay for this Christmas. But it wont be my last Christmas at home, I wanna do one year in the USA and one year at home. I see my Fiance quite a lot so I'm not in a mad rush to get over there.

  7. Best of luck. I know the waiting for everyone is the Big trial we face to be with our love one. But after the Interview it all goes pretty fast. August 13 my fiancée had her interview in Manila, took 2 hours, then a Philippine government seminar and interview after waiting 4 days for passport with visa. Tomorrow, Monday in USA she will arrive at night in California. So 13 days after the interview she will be here!

I think late night TV must have been developed for those of us just waiting.

    Take care

13 days is super fast! You must be so excited! I'm hoping to have my visa by the end of November but I'm going to wait till Jan to go over so I can spend Christmas with my family and do lots of hours at work to make a bit extra money to take over with me. Plus I've just got back from visiting my Fiance and she's visiting me in November so its not all bad.

    Enjoy tomorrow night!
