I finally got my interview letter today with interview booked for April 17th. I am pretty sure they heard me cursing them under my breath as I drove by the Baltimore office en route to my ultra sound appointment. lol I just hope my morning sickness can be gentle with me that day. Does a big ole baby bump help with proof of marriage.

congrats! and yes, any kids due or already born help a lot my officer didn't even ask me one question about my marriage, she saw us all together with two small children and probably didn't have any doubts

I have 2 small kids and we wanted to take them to the museum afterwards but if it's gonna take 3 hours then I'm starting to think I should drive there by myself. Was it at monroe county courthouse? (I read there are 2 different places for oath)

I remember you saying that your friend had an interview before you. Did he/she already have his/her oath in Rochester? If yes, could you tell me how long was the whole thing, how many people? I wanted to plan a trip to a museum after the oath with my family but it depends on how long everything could take...

yellow letter doesn't mean anything. I also received one asking for DL and they never did at the interview.

Chicago is pretty slow, be patient and in a a meantime just check September, October, November Filers topics. Maybe you can find there somebody from Chicago to compare the timeline.

How did your interview go?

Hello everybody

I had my interview yesterday. It was very cold and snowy and we had to drive 2.5 hours, but at least my appointment was at 1 pm We arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled interview and were waiting for about half an hour until my name was called. First I had to swear to tell the truth. Then the officer asked for my green card and my passport. After that she was going through all the information in my application to double check if it's still ok. She took my passport to check the dates of the trips outside the US. Then she just asked all the questions yes and no...

Later she told me to read 'who can vote?' and write down 'citizens can vote'.

Then she just started asking the civics questions.

1. Who makes federal laws?

2. Why did the colonists fight the British?

3. What is the highest court in US?

4. What is the name of the vice president?

5. How many amendments does the constitution have?

6. What group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves?

I answered correctly all of them. But she didn't say a word, just left the room for couple minutes and came back with the letter for my oath (which is gonna be March 14th).

All in all the person I got was not really nice, but I passed, so it's all good. I would expect somebody like that to explain everything, say what's gonna happen next, etc.

Well...3 more weeks and I'm done

It depends on the office but I would suggest to ask at the time of the interview. Tell them the truth and ask what could be done about it. Good luck!

alacranita, by all reports, your tax returns will be more than enough, but if you still want to pursue it, can you contact whomever is living at your old address and provide them with a big stamped envelope to send your returns to you?

I think I'm just gonna stick with tax returns. That's what I sent with my application and hopefully they're not gonna ask for anything

I've been waiting over a month and a half. Never came. I finally got them to fax the papers to me so I could file. I tried online and phone to request them again so that I have originals as opposed to a fax for the interview, but their system was having problems. When I tried online, it said a request is already pending, so I will wait 10 more days and see what happens. My advice is to request them as early as possible so that you have options if their system fails again. Good luck!
