  1. Last night  she made an infopass appointment for today. We were in and out in about an hour.  They took her green card and gave her the info pass in her passport. Until Sept 25, 2018. But they cut a month off because its 12 months from the day you go in not the expire date. I don't care really, but shes like why wont they give me a permanent green card!!   They said copy that ands send it to work.

In all actuality its been a productive month. End of August We got her a new State ID,  She went to New York  Sept 6  for 5 days and  got her new  ten year Chinese passport for total trip cost of less then $1000  . Which impressed the hell out of me.  And we got her info pass today. For parking 3.25. and some hassles getting around. ^_^

  2. Good Morning,  I don't think there's a problem but I want to make sure. We applied for  the I751 and they gave us a year. Its ending on  Nov 25. We are waiting for an I751 Interview. We already got the original one year extension. Biometrics been done. No issues with the paperwork. She got her paper and green card .last year.   And   it expires on Nov 25, 2017. Wife got a letter from work that her work card expires on that day. And I took her to renew her State ID, and  they ran the check and gave it to her until Nov 25.  She checks her status somewhere and it says there's no problem.  So should I send something to the local office and tell them shes going to lose her job if they don't get with it.  Or do I have to refile another application  to get another extension. I thought before that happened  if you hit the deadline with no interview they issue a card. But I see some people talking about a two year extension.  And just for the record. On a good note she went to New York, and got her Chinese passport renewed . That will be finished on Sept, 20.

  3. Ok, Im American , in community  college now , getting a two year transfer degree and I'm  55. And this is my opinion. Ive done something similar to you. I got an Aircraft mechanics license in high school by diploma,  but now they do an Associates degree in real universities . .  And most countries besides the US have more requirements to work on aircraft then the US. I cant get an aircraft mechanics job in Canada or  England as they are called engineers. And the education level is higher .   Engineers in the US are 4 plus year degrees. I don't believe they let you work on aircraft with a high school diploma . I was awarded the most technically advanced mechanic of 75 mechanics at Continental some time ago. inh spite of not having a degree.  My opinion is you have  an equivalent of a minimum, of  roughly an   Associates degree.  But it might not really matter. You have an arts degree which is the easiest one. But it looks to be specialized and you might have much experience. What you describes should be highly desirable in live stage and motion picture industry.    In the US a degree only matters for your first entry level  jobs. If you have experience that will override the degree after that. Keep in mind that Associates degrees are two or three year here too , such as nursing, because you have to do clinicals  which add an year. Was your degree three years because of time constraints or waiting for the hands on stuff. Then its probably two years.

The critical deciding factor in the US is a Bachelors degree is 4 years . An associates degree is mostly two. Or  to three such as nursing. Because your on a waiting list for clinicals.   A technical degree like mine can be anything including an associates degree . But its not. because I got my aircraft license at 17.   I want to say something about accredited classes.  So , all  US universities are using the same accredited classes. So the classes transfer to other universities. And teachers requirements are standard. Who are your classes accredited by and do they transfer. What they transfer too can help you see what the equivalent is. My wife has a teaching degree in China and nothing transfers. She blows me away in Algebra.

Some Technical schools such as hair dresser schools and many others  and  some schools such as Spartan school of Aeronautics use separate technical school accredited by another agency . They do not transfer anywhere. So a person could get an Aircraft mechanics license with no degree , and nothing transfers and he can get employed. That's what I did but in high school. . If I want to go to a university to get an associated degree I have to take the requirement for that.  because nothing transfers to real universities. So Im taking an associates of  applied arts in   business degree not related to Aviation.   That CAN transfer into a 4 year university. Because of those schools not being accredited,  those schools do not have to use teachers who meet university 4 year minimum teaching requirements. Spartan can employ highly experienced aircraft mechanics and pilots, or no experience, or someone  in between with a two year degree, and  who teach with no degree at all.  Its a choice. I was a poor guy who got an aircraft license and gained from it. So I wont bash them schools, Even though they get many students, and foreign students ,  who learn the hard way, when they are finished  that their classes transfer nowhere. But they can work on planes in the US. And they wished they knew that first.

I think that field you are in is not going to care what degree you have but they will like that training you have.   (it was theatre production - set design, building, props, management etc). It looks like an advanced  technical degree to me. on paper ,  that very well might transfer into an Associates degree.

  4. Good Morning,  I don't think there's a problem but I want to make sure. Were waiting for an I751 Interview. We already got the one year extension. Biometrics been done. And her extension ,  it expires on Nov 25, 2017. Wife got a letter from work that her work card expires on that day. I thought before that if you hit the deadline with no interview they issue a card.  And just for the record. She is flying to New York to get her Chinese passport renewed by appointment.  If anyone can comment on that. It looks like another fiasco in the making according to their website. And Thank you everyone.

  5. Well, 9 days . We got a NOA I 797 that residence status is extended a year, And an ASC appointment NOA is coming , Biometrics, ect. Standard reply I think. I'm surprised it was nine days though. Considering it took me two weeks to prepare that package of Red tape paper for them to justify their jobs..

I sent it on the Sept, 1, 2016, It arrived on the 6th , We got a I-797 on a Sat , Sept 10. I'm not sure if that's a speed record or not..

  6. There's a bar code page. With the green card. They match. When you renew the green card you send in the bar code with the app. and its a faster track. Because they have the info already. And it matches the applicant to the the greencard. . Otherwise without the bar code the officer said it will add 3 months. A fellow at work said he had bar codes too a few years ago.

On another note... The 'heading back to China for New Years. I just bought the plane ticket. She's been much happier since the card came. She said when she gets back she is going to get her drivers license and a job. Now the coworkers are getting jealous. I'm getting all this good food and she can stay.

  7. We just had another appointment today. The agent said we are approved. The form they gave us says no decision made. She is doing another security check , but the USCIS site case status says they will issue a card. My wife lost some hair and weight from stress and I,m beat. Almost 3 years from when I met her. Thanks everyone for the support.

  8. K1 AOS. Hello All.

Id like some guidance I guess. Im not even sure how to do my timeline. I'm leaving a lot out too. My wife's been here a little over a year from China . We are married a little over a year too. Last December I had a car wreck and couldn't sleep in a bed until about May. She has had a lot of trouble adjusting. Myself also.

I just had a followup interview a week ago , and it was requested to be without my wife. It was not the same officer , at my first interview that they kicked me out of. They filmed the first interview but not the recent one.

Some things discussed were. Agent watched out tape again. He was in charge of my case now. They told me they believed me, I brought her here for legitimate reasons, but he could not decide about my wife. But they thought strongly she wanted a green card. But were not sure. They have a very strong reason to think this.

Someone reported to immigration in writing that they thought my wife was here for a green card. Then they recanted and wrote another letter saying it was a mistake. Immigration also went to visit my other house I don't live in. Because they did not see my change of address. He wanted details about our sleeping arrangements. What size beds, ect. Two days ago they (two officers) showed up at my buddies shop and asked him a bunch of questions about my visits there with my wife. What she said . Did he ever hear her say she wanted to get a greencard . and a divorce or move out. And some other irrelevent things. His opinion of our marriage. ect. Also after out initial interview which was around august. they told us to go get criminal background checks for her because I changed my address. Which I got pretty fast and mailed them in.

We never received a paper letter about the follow up. It was a phone call. Come by myself. And they let me decide what time and day , ect.

Also they , the first interview officer, called to tell me that I could withdrawel my affidavit of support. This was right after our first interview. At that time I didn't know what that meant. But I wrote them a letter saying I would not do it. About a month later.

Also the new officer, said it would be about three weeks for them to decide .If she can stay. After he visited my friends shop. And he didn't make the decision , somebody else would. And they would rather not issue her a green card , and wait to see how things work out, because its damn near impossible to get back two years later. He said We have a fair chance she can stay.

What should I do if they say my wife has to leave is the most important thing.

That's about the sum of it.

    Thanks

  9. Okay, I spit: she was not mindful enough to remember important details which is sloppy and stupid. your previous posts about her hating life in the u.s. (which i'm not sure if it's now resolved?) and her asking for a divorce just make me think she doesn't want to do this anymore.

Is she always that flippy-floppy? That would drive me mental.

Uh , yup.. Every day flippy floppy. Everythings great , or sucks. She said she didn't remember the other address because we don't live there. And they asked where we live , not what address is on the paperwork. She said 4 bedrooms because we have two apartments with different addresses under the same roof , even though ones unoccupied. Because they said house not address. And HOUSE is both places.

  10. I wasn't trying to be offensive. It just seems as though she does not care, and this is a serious issue to forget such important details during an interview relating to her immigration status. Has she always been like this? You mentioned previously she has said divorce. That's pretty serious.

No offense taken, She certainly is not caring towards anything important. I havn't got that figured yet. But it appears that important must do things are hard for her. And she can't read or write a lick of English . And yup, she has been a chronic whiner for a divorce / to go back to China , since she got here. Then the next day its like nothing happened. I see USCIS updated our case to say they received the address change.

  11. The wife said were living in my other house , which we are, Which is not the address that is on the paperwork. She knew the address we used on all our paperwork and interviews , and biometrics was the same. But she forgot. Because she only likes to worry about Chinese web sites and where to shop at. For coach purses, and other fashion #######. Instead of looking at our application. Because she said she doesn't need too.

They kicked me out, called in an interpreter , then questioned her in private, called me back in, and damn near accused me of having a fake marriage. They made a big deal about her having a back injury, and about our sleeping arrangements. Of course she answered every question wrong. For instance how many bedrooms do you have. She said 4 , I said 2. How many hours a day does your husband work . She said 8. I said 12. Whats your zip code 44102, I said 44055.

So I'm screwed. Furthermore , every interview she fails, every single one. Because she don't think about anything she says. And we have to do biometrics over again. Because twice it doesn't take.

Then I get home and she starts the Once a week, I want a divorce, and , or move out, or go to a hotel, and go

    back to China rant.

So I made the address change on USCIS

    , because she cant remember S_ _ _

And that about sums that up.
