  1. The interview was relaxed, my husband was in the waiting area. I was called, sworn in, and then I sat down. 10 covic questions, I had to answer one question in writing. We went through the application, again the questions that ask obout your past( jail, court, military service etc) . I have requested a name change so I had to sign those papers and that was it. In and out in about 15 minutes.

Are you sure you read it correctly? That seems to fast for FBI to do background check.

I had roc last year and another background check done recently for teaching, not sure if that has anything to do with it. 5 days is very possible for background checks, it is done electronically. Although I was pleasantly surprised  , when looking at other timelines for that field office, they may have a low volume of n-400 filers.

  3. when looking at the timelines, Louisville KY has an average of 3-4 months( from filing to oath). I’d say I will be in that range once approved and scheduled for the oath. The advantage with the online filing is having letters almost immediately available. Once I got the biometrics invite available online I went for an early walk in, 2 1/2 weeks earlier than original appointment.

Nevertheless I was pleasantly suprised aswell.

  4. It all depends on the workload of local field office. I filed on the 11th( of sept), received info on biometrics online, did a walk in on the 16th, and this morning I received my interview date( online, letter on the way).Louisville, KY is very quick. Online it showed average completion time 12 months but within 2 weeks of filing I received my appointment date for the interview.

    good luck

  5. Hi all,

    For info:

Last year we moved from Germany to the US, I entered on the cr-1 and my 16 year old son from my first marriage joined us somewhat later. We did concurrent filing for him, USCIS accepted his case april 7, he got his EAD exactly 90 days after that, the end of july we received a letter of possible waiver for interview, and yesterday everything got approved. a little less than 6 months.

  6. It works in some cases, if not receive within 3 weeks you need to check with the local SSA. I had checked the box but did not get anything. When I went to the SSA they checked if I was in the system and as they couldn't find anything I applied over there, 5 days later I got my SSN.( I actually received my Greencard before my SSN)
