Just got off the phone with NVC. The agent told me everything looks perfect and no additional docs etc are required at the time of the interview. What a relief

Everyone. inform your self .. watch youtube videos (that's how I filled out my AOS package because I followed step by step a video on youtube NO CHECK LIST ) and of course read and read saylin's wiki ..

IV invoice paid and IV package shipped today! I'll update my timeline and signature when I get home. Interestingly, my IV cover sheet told me to post it to CMR instead of DR, so I did. I thought CMR was for the AOS docs

Suddenly thinking it's a shame Hotter Otter never got into following the NVC threads Oh what fun we could've had!

Thank you for everybody's support today. Have a conference call with lawyer this week so will see what they suggest. At the end of the day it will all be done and we will all be together as families again and this will be behind us.

Just checking in from my "world of Unicorns and sparkles." Everything is great here and I am having a wonderful night. I am going to see my wife in 3 weeks and that makes me very happy. I am blessed and grateful she is with me and that we will be together soon. Everywhere I go people ask me how she is doing and when will she arrive. There are literally hundreds of people who are waiting to meet her.
Think positive and act positive. You create your own karma in life. A positive outlook rubs off on everyone that you will ever encounter, on a daily basis. I am sorry you feel so spiteful and angry. No need to spread that here. I understand bad days as well as frustration, but try to be positive Tico. It will help you, your spouse, your family and everyone else that you encounter in life.

I finally got my IV invoice email today! It's not available to pay online yet, but the letter was dated August 4th, so I hope it will be available by tomorrow. So happy <3 46 business days though, lol

I'm so sorry to hear about your checklist! And boy, they want quite a bit of paper! Please let us know what you find out after you speak with them.
I hope they will allow you to move on from this quickly. At this point, it may be healthy to double and triple check anything your lawyers do and say. If I'm not mistaken, they already failed to get the petitioner's signature on a document and put in the wrong income amount on the I-864. I would call the NVC and contact the US embassy in Sydney to verify what documents they actually need.
Try to keep your spirits up! It's a minor setback. You will get through. We all will.

Certified copies are 100% acceptable, it's notarized copies that are checklist-worthy. I think people might get confused about the differences between the two and use the terms interchangeably when they shouldn't.

Those checklists are probably for notarised copies, not certified.

I think the e-mail was sent out to everyone still within the NVC. They just probably made a script to automatically send out e-mails to all those with a pending case, not really even considering those that are nearing case complete. I say call MSC13 and Amanda! Someone has written a letter suggesting we bombard the relevant agencies and media outlets over extended USCIS and now NVC wait times. We are suggesting a mass email to be sent out this week. Here is the content:
I am writing to you today as a part of a group that has been invisible. I am writing to you today to be seen. You are supposed to represent the people. I am writing to you today for help.
Each month a few hundred thousand I-130 petitions are filed with the USCIS from a US citizen on behalf of their spouse who is not a resident of the United States. These are people who have fallen in love and see no boarders in that. These are also people who trust their government and wish to go about bringing their loved ones into the country LEGALLY and do exactly as the system and government agencies ask.
We feel we are not being treated as law abiding tax paying citizens. We are being treated as if we do not matter, or even exist.
It is currently taking over one year in total to bring the spouse of a US citizen to the USA. With current laws giving priority to ILLEGAL immigrants we are being set aside. The problem is no one knows we are here. WE are hundreds of thousands of people being torn apart from our loved ones, our family, our friends and our human right to be happy. Children are forced to be separated from one of their parents. Wives are going through child birth without their spouses to witness the life they have created being introduced into the world. Some US Citizens are being forced to choose between their partner in life, and their right to live life in the country they were born in.
This is not what we were promised. This is not what we will allow to continue.
Here are some key points, questions and demands we would like to bring to your attention:
- USCIS states that spouses of US Citizens do not need to wait in line for a visa to become available and that family unity is a priority
- If US Citizens are at the top of the priority for the US government agencies why are we being set aside while ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION REFORM is being glorified and allowed special treatment?
- US Citizens are put through stress and depression and as a result poor mental and physical health since the DACA program has slowed down processing times even more than in previous years
- Thousands of dollars A DAY is being spent on ILLEGAL immigrants to be able to stay in the USA when we have to prove we can support ourselves with our own hard earned money and we are happy to do so
- When calling the phone numbers we are provided for assistance during this process we get NO understanding and certainly very inconsistent answers, if any
- We need to know why our government is spending so much money and resources on ILLEGAL immigrants and warfare and can’t provide enough employees to control a backlog for spouses of US Citizens to process their paperwork?
- Certain processing time frames at NVC and USCIS are given and not abided by and we demand for a change in this
- We demand for processing times to be controlled and fair at ALL steps of this process
- We demand to be the priority as we are choosing to do what is right and legal
- We demand to be treated more humanely
- We demand for a change in processing times for Immigrant Visas IMMEDIATELY
We want to know why we are being punished.
We need to know that we are not invisible.
WE CANNOT CONTINUE TO BE IGNORED
