  1. I filed my AOS after my I-94 was expired. We got married Sept 4 and my J1 visa expired Sept 13. I had 1 month tourist extension till Oct 13 and we filed the papers Nov 19... so 36 days after the last day of my legal stay in USA. I already got my Boimetrics appointment letter which means that they didn't notice any delay. I am not 100% sure how it works with K1 visas but the case with overstaying the visa must be similar for all the visas!

  2. Hey there! Im a little curious... what does your lawyer mean by the 'real' one? lol In your first letter, which forms did it state? I ask b/c I received 2 letters also, the first was only for I485 & I765. It wasnt until I completed the walk in appointment did the 2nd one come in the mail for Advance parole. But while I was at the ASC they went ahead an issued me another letter ahead of time for the advance parole and did all 3 at 1 time

Both letters are for the same case numbers (I-485 and I-765) and the second one is just for rescheduling the appointment. The EAD&AP is combo card and I think they don't need two different Biometrics for that. I haven't received letter for the I-130 case...

  3. I am also a Nov filer in NOLA and received my biometrics appt letter on Friday. From all that I've read, the Metairie office does not regularly allow walk-ins, and I absolutely HATE Metairie so I don't want to waste a journey there when I could just wait 2 weeks. But if you go, let me know what they say! Good luck everyone!

    Hi kittylondon

I talked this morning with my lawyer and she just told me to forget about walk-in in New Orleans. She has a lot of people with bad experience and wasted time and money trying to do the Boimetrics earlier. Its 3 hours driving from where I am and I am not sure it is worth it to go. Still some of my friends are excited just to visit there and if we go I will let you know.

There is a little trick that you can use probably ... just tell them that you have plans for the Christmas holidays and show them some proof for that. Its Christmas!!! I hope they will be more cooperative at this time of the year :) or they will be too busy and will just tell you to come at your appointment date!

  4. Hi everybody,

Our lawyer just sent the AOS package last week Nov 9 and I was wondering how am I supposed to receive any e-mail or text notifications? I don't remember him to put our phone numbers and e-mails in the forms. He has it because we were talking on the phone and sending e-mails with the information before he sent our papers but maybe I have to register somewhere in order to get notifications...
