  1. I married in 2003 and we filed in 2009... Granted, we traveled and saw each other often and Italy is not considered a difficult immigration country... He did get asked why and he told the truth, he worked on ships and it was more tax advantageous for him not to become lpr. But I would tell the truth (and be sure to discuss with your hubby so you both are on the same page.

Thank u very much Christeen, i sure will do that and hope for the very best.

  2. RosyG not to worry. Financial matters could mean a lot for hom. Trying to settle things make it all good for u to come here.

Many have waited. I waited 9 months after marriage to file cuz well I needed a job.

I know many who didn't visit for a long time.

Go talk to Ayo820 she will give you good information to success.

If asked just tell the truth financial matters is very well understood. It would also explain why he hasn't visited due to financial matters. Just because someone has a good paying job doesn't mean all is well.

Thank u very much Dwheels, i sure will talk to Ayo and ofcos I have enough evidence. Thank God!

  3. @Godsgift and mimolicious, u too are correct but he hasnt visited since then either, that was the last time i saw him so its kind of hard  What do u think really? He doesnt even want me to mention financial issues now as the reason that he gave me then and i am just wondering what else to say. I am not hinking of lying but wondering how to answer in a way dat will not bring up too many other questons:help:

  4. Hi Vjers,

This is a crazy question to ask but we are our brother and our sister's keeper here on VJ so i decided to post this question for suggestions. My husband and i got married in 2009 but we started fililng in march 2012 and i know i am going to be asked why my husband hadnt filed for me all along. My husband really doesnt have a reason why, initially he told me it was due to financial challenges which doesnt sound good to me because he works as a nurse and is well paid. Plssssssssss help me as i am preparing for my interview and i know dis question will be asked but have no appropriate answer in mind to give. God bless u all.

  6. Hi Dwheels, i dont think there will be a problem as he will get well before then. What he needs now is proper treatment and malaria is not a communicable disease it is gotten from mosquito bites, what he should do is get to see a good doctor and take his drugs according to prescription and i am sure he will be fine. He should have another test to ascertain the malaria has left his system thereafter. I had Chickenpox when i was 16. All he needs to do is get proper treatment and like someone said earlier he will be immuned for life, the spots from the chicken pox wont disappear immediately, depending on how serious it is, it sometimes takes up to 3 or 4 months if its the serious type for it to fade away but when once he gets treatment spots or no spots he will be fine. Do not worry. By the stripes of Jesus he is healed.I wish u two the very best.

  7. Thank u very much u all for your kind responses, i will indeed stop worrying according to your advices and keep trusting God for His grace and favour. u all have calmed my nerves really

  8. I would not sweat it, as long as it shows some of your numbers, they review all of your evidence in totality as long as you have other items in abundance, phone record is just one of those records needed.

yeah, but i have only got phone records and emails and photos.

  9. Hi Vjers,

Has anyone ever encountered this issue??? my husband just printed out our call records and realised that my phone number shows just 10 numbers instead of 13. For instance, it shows 2348032845 but doesnt show the remaining 3 numbers and we need dis for our interview in february and funny enough other nigerian numbers dat call to his phone show all 13. Should i worry? i am already worrying. His phone company is sprint. Thanks

  10. Wow! thanks for the love shown! I am very excited and i guess nervous at the same time.@ Gregs& Onos, yay! I am happy for u. God is faithful. He won't fail us, be rest assured about His word, he says His thoughts for us are thoughts of good and not of evil to give us an expected end. We will indeed get to our expected end, everyone of us will. @betweenus, i wish u and your spouse all the best. God will surely see u thru with super success. I will begin to gather my documents straight away and will head back to Lagos next week for my medicals. Thank u very much and may God give us all testimonies to His glory.

  11. Hi VJ Family,

Thank God!!! i just got a mail saying my case has been closed at the NVC and interview date given immediately ang guess what??? i was given a date in February (just what i was praying for)God is faithful. Those of u who predicted that my case would be closed and sorted this week were so super correct. Thank u VJers, i couldn't have gotten to this stage without your kind and patient support. Whoooo! so, what next???

  12. Hi VJ Fam,

i am so excited right now. Thanks to u all that predicted a closed case at NVC for me this week. I got a mail yesterday saying that my case has been closed at NVC and my interview date has been given, faith works, lol, i wanted february against all odds and guess what??? i have been granted February and 2nd wk(fri)in February for that matter. God is faithful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pls what next?

  13. u need to go to the national population commission office in your state of birth and tell them u want a birth certificate for the embassy, take the birth certificate u have have as proof. u will need to take an affidavit of your age declaration from the court and 2 passport photographs, u will also need to pay some money to get it processed. I paid N3,500 but i dont know if this is the same for other states. He needs to go and find out. Any other birth certificate will be acceptable elsewhere but will not be acceptable at the embassy. For ur interview, u won't be needing the petitioner's original birth certificate. But i will advise that u read the interview "Reviews" at the top (right hand) corner of the visa journey page to gain experience from other people's interviews. I hope this helps. I wish u the very best!

  14. My husband just got his birth certificate (FINALLY). I asked him if it's the long form birth certificate, since that's what I have read on here. He says "They said nothing like long form. We did the original birth declaration with the affidavit from the high court Owerri, Imo State." Do any of you know if this is correct, or what exactly he needs to look for on the form to make sure it will be accepted. Is it his full name, place, date of birth and both his parents names? Any input would be appreciated. I want to make sure he has the correct documents before he heads back to Ghana.

Just remain positive, happy and blessed. It is well.

Thanks dear. I believe and i see it coming for us all in Jesus name, Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Hi VJ family,

How are u all doing? This week hasnt been too pleasant for me. The last time, i posted a question here asking what the next steps to take are after mailing in my DS230 application and civil documents and i was advised to call NVC from time to time in order to know whats up. I called them on Tuesday 8th January 2013, to enquire about my case status and the lady i spoke with, told me if i hadnt heard anything from them then it means my documents hadnt been reviewed yet and said they would get back to me after it had been reviewed. Before then i had told her i mailed the documents out on the 19th of Dec 2012 thru FedEx and dat it was delivered and signed for (i tracked it). To my greatest dismay, 3 hours later i got a checklist letter from NVC saying they were still waiting for me to send in my completed visa application and original civil documents which i had already sent. Could this possibly mean they didnt receive it even after it indicated delivere on the Fedex website??? the thought of losing my original marriage cert, birth certificate and police report is driving me nuts because if at they end of the day they tell me they dont have it then it will cost me another money to get each of them processed again, apart from this i was looking forward to an interview in february and looking forward to being with ny husband soonest and all of this is freaking us out. Pls i need your advice on what to do!!!

  18. I just want to share my whole experience regarding my petition especially to those who are still patiently waiting for the approval of their petition. First, of all I want to thank my VJ family especially my friends here who have shared their insights, advice and informative ideas on how to go about the I-129F petition. I am extremely happy that finally after almost 8 months of waiting for the approval of our petition, just today our case got approved!!! I have no experience about paperwork since the very beginning we started our paperwork. But thanks to my VJ family, a lot of good people here have helped us go about the whole process of K1 petition, without these good people it would be very impossible to complete our whole packet. My fiance and I never hired an attorney coz it is expensive. We did everything by ourselves with the guidance of my VJ friends. I really want to thank all of you. MILLION THANKS.

To those who are still waiting, let me share to you my experience. We all know that VSC is really slower than CSC right? So the waiting game is really so tough. Ive been through a lot of pains, struggles, frustrations and depression. I cried everyday after we passed the normal processing time which is 5.5 to 6 months as shown on the USCIS website. I almost gave up and I even argued and fought with my fiance, coz I always pushed him to call the USCIS to find out the case and he got tired too hearing different answers from customer reps and even tier2. We tried several times to file for a service request to tier 2, but unfortunately they didnt allow for some reasons. I think it depends on the tier 2 you speak with. So be patient enough to call the USCIS and be on hold for like 40-50 minutes to finally talk to a tier 2. Finally, after we passed the 7th month, my fiance called again the USCIS and was able to talk to a kind tier2. He put us on a service request after he asked few questions from my fiance and noted them down. Then he told him, that a letter will be sent to my fiance in a week or 2. On Dec. 30 my fiance got the hard copy of the letter from the USCIS, but I was surprised that the letter stated that our case is still under review and we have to wait for another 60 days! We were really shocked! What??? I asked some of friends' experience who also had their case put on service request, I was relieved when they told me that 60 days is just a generic answer. They added that hopefully this first week of January I will get an approval. To my surprise today, INDEED I GOT APPROVED!!!! Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was screaming and jumping lol coz I was extremely happy. I realized then that if we just leave everything to God, then it will come the least we expect!!! Good things come to those who wait patiently. So GOOD LUCK TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE STILL WAITING FOR THEIR APPROVAL. NEVER GIVE UP!!! INCREASE YOUR FAITH IN GOD and most of all DONT FORGET TO PRAY. GOD will always grant our desires because HE knows what our heart's desires are.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With God all things are possible! i tap into your testimony in Jesus name, Amen.

  19. From my experience thus far I have learned its always a good idea to call NVC and check on your case. You often find out the status before they contact you or send an email. The operator may ask when did you send youer DS230 and then tell you it takes 20 business days for them to review everything. But I have learned its less than 20 days from them receiving everything to case complete. After your case is complete then NVC says interviews are scchedule during the first two weeks of every month. I think it would be a good idea to call on Monday and check on your case. By the way even though you know they have recieved the operator may say that they are still waiting for it. Do not be alarmed. Your paperwork is there just that the information has not been entered in the system yet to complete your case. Best advise is to keep calling and ask what the next step it and case status. Hope this helps. Good luck

Thank u very much betweenus.I really appreciate. I will call them on Monday as u have advised.

  20. Hi VJ Family,

Happy New Year! i have not been here since the new year. I hope u all are doing great. Pls kindly respond to my question. How long does it take to get a case complete at the NVC and how long will it take to get an interview date thereafter? are there any specific things i need to do like call or email them while waiting from response from them. I sent my Ds230 signed and unsigned part 1 and 2 forms plus my civil documents to them on the 19th of Dec and i tracked and confirmed it had been signed for and received by NVC on the 21st of Dec. I will appreciate your responses. Thanks.
