  1. Yes, we will be there a year. But I figured if we applied for Naturalization this May and it takes say 6 months for him to be a citizen that would take us to November and we wouldn't need to do any extension. I more worried about him applying for a visa while applying to be a citizen. But I guess it would be just the same if we were planning a trip to say somewhere in Europe. I think I just answered my own question lol

  2. So my job is taking me to Qatar to teach English and the school will give myself, my son and my husband a visa to live there. My husband just received his letter of Approval for ROC and we are waiting for his GC to come in the mail. Can he apply for Citizenship and then have my company apply for his visa so he can temporarily visit me in Qatar? He has a Moroccan passport so it isn't for him to just enter any country.I really hope someone knows the answer to this! Thank you!!

  3. Hello,

My husband can now apply for Naturalization but I (the wife) just got a job offer to start teaching August 1st overseas. Does my husband need to wait for the school to start his visa while his citizenship papers are in process? I don't want to make things complicated. But we also have a son who is only 1 1/2 and I am going to really need his help. Anyone know what to do?

  4. After 5 months and 1 week we are no longer on AP. Best day of my lilfe!!! I think what helped is because I had my mother write a email to the embassy. She said how we had a deposit for our wedding and this was causing our families a lot of suffering blah blah. So hey I think that's what did it!! smile.png

Well they just called him he got the visa and they told him he needs to get the visa and leave for USA by October 14th!! So that's it.

  5. Im so sad for you and your wife! Fiance have been on AP now for a little over 5 months and its been unbearable but 3 years!! That's not normal. Right now I teach and there is an American school in Morocco Im going to speak with them Tuesday morning about a leave replacement. So yes I think your best option is to work there if you can. I really wish you both the best of luck in the future! I think you should try to get over there ASAP and start looking into work before the visa.See what all your options are.

  6. So its pretty serious now that my fiancé has been on AP for more than 5 months especially since we originally were supposed to have our wedding 11 days ago. But...now that tomorrow will be 1 year that we filed our petition. I'm feeling pretty helpless, even with a lawyer and congressman. And....the fact that they really can not do anything kills me!!

How many other people are in this situation???? And...just out of curiosity does anyone know if I have my Psychologist write the embassy on behalf of my "insanity" could that help?

(A little about us: We have one year between our age and he in from Morocco.)

  7. My fiancé has been on AP since April 23rd!! We are waiting now almost 4 months. When they finished his interview they did not hand him any slip of paper, they didn't take his passport but they told him he was approved but they were putting him on AP. We get back to his house and his status said Visa Ready....But with all my phone calls and emails they changed it to AP. We have used our congressman, lawyer and everyone says just to wait... So I am wondering how long should we put our lives on hold and wait??? I hope for you two your cases are not in AP for as long. But we are praying with Ramadan being almost over things go a little more quickly.
