  1. Congrats Moon Light!

It seems things are moving rather fast my friend. Thank you very much for the detailed information! It helps very much having someone experienced with your local office.

    Good luck at the Oath!!!

    Regards!

First of all let me congratulate you on the passed interview Moon Light!

    Thank you.

Wow, 9 months is a long time, compared to what other offices (with more applications mind you) are taking. I am getting very impatient with the whole procedure. So, he did ask you about your job situation? Interesting... I am in-between jobs right now, so they wouldn't have the latest job info on my application. Did they ask you anything about citations/traffic tickets?

Yes, he did asked me about my job, my company's name, but it seems to me that he just would like to test my English. In your case, if you changed your job, you should tell him to update your file at the begining of the interview because he will go through every page of the N400 and ask you to confirm.

He did not ask me anything about citation/traffic tickets since I have not ever got any.

Thank you very much for the detailed info Moon Light!

Good luck at the Oath and hopefully you get the date fast! Let us know how it goes and where it was scheduled, how many people etc...

I got the email notification, as well as on line status update on 29 May that my oath was scheduled and that they sent the oath letter to my address. I received it today, my oath will be 23 Jun at Oklahoma City Office (same place as the interview). I will share the experience of the ceremony then.

    Thanks again friend!

  2. I only seem to have four of his tax returns. 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2010. Do you think I should have all just incase or I don't know I'm just asking to find out.

If you meant you only have four of those when going to the IRS website and getting your tax receipts from there, then i ALSO have just 4 of those. For some reason 2011 was not available for printout. What i am planning on doing is getting all those 4 and also i plan on printing out all 5 (for the past 5 years since i am applying via 5-year rule) of my tax returns from TurboTax. Hope this helps!

    Good luck!

  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the point of the tax returns is to prove commingling of finances as proof of a bonafide marital relationship. Applicants applying based on five years of permanent residency (especially those who did not get their green cards through marriage to a U.S. citizen) are not required to present tax returns at the interview.

In a perfect scenario, you are correct indeed. But from my research and the countless threads i have read about it, i can strongly deduce tax receipts/returns are strongly advised to be taken with you, even if you apply via the 5-year rule. You can prove you are a person with good moral standard (pay your debts), you can prove you somewhat haven't been a potential burden of social aids from the government, you can prove address registrations, income, relationship/marital status etc...

I would highly recommend applicants to bring tax documentation with them, regardless of the method they are applying via. I am applying via the 5-year rule, and tax receipts and tax returns are ready and printed in my supporting documentation, for when the time comes for my interview. With immigration, overly prepared on the day never hurts. My opinion though. Good luck to everybody!

  4. WOW! I am so pleasantly surprised!!! My office in Oklahoma City just updated my case to interview has been scheduled!! I cannot believe this! My office takes 9-13 months from start to finish and i am at the 4 month and 10th day and online status changed from IN LINE to INTERVIEW HAS BEEN SCHEDULED! I will let you know when i get the interview letter!!!

On June 1, 2015, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number............................

  5. i really have no commends to citizenship office. I was suppost to go interview on June 3, 2015, which is way late then most people. yesterday I got an phone call to say that they have to cancel my interview and reschedule it, because my case is still in process, not sent to local office yet. and did not give me any estimation how long i have to wait. really pissed off by those officers.

This DOES suck friend. What can you do, but wait...Immigration...Phew!

    Hang in there!

    Hi SaltUponWounds,

I passed the interview and have got the e-mail notification, as well as online status update this afternoon about the in-line for oath schedule.

It took me almost 7 months from filing date till interview date and I still have to wait approximate 8 weeks (as the interview officer told me at the end of the interview) for the oath ceremony, totally may be up to 9 months !

Since I needed to drive 2 hours to the office and do not know how the traffic situation, I came 1 hour earlier than the appoinment time. The Security only allow me to check in exactly 30' prior to the interview time. There were only 2 people waiting ahead of me. After 45' waiting, a male officer called my name and led me into his office, he asked me to raise my right hand and swear to tell the truth. He then invited me to take the seat, checked my ID, Green card and passport, and started right away the reading and writing test. He gave me a paper pre-printed 3 sentences and asked me to read the 1st one (How many senators are there in the Congress ?). He then spoke " There are one hundred senators" and asked me to write down the sentence on another paper. After that he asked civic questions which were pre-printed (I saw total 10). They were:

1/ What is the name of the National Anthem ?

2/ What is the ocean on the West coast ?

3/ How old must citizens to be to vote for president ?

4/ Who is the Chief Justice ?

5/ Latest to send tax form ?

6/ What do we call the 1st ten amendments ?

Since I answered all 6 correctly. He stopped. I saw him wrote down my answer for each question and tick answer correctly box on the right hand side of each question.

He then went through every page of N400 from 1st page, asked what was my job? what was the company's name ? ..... and then answered the yes/no questions. He then let me sign some papers and gave me the form N-652 and told me that within 30 days I will receive a mail informing the date, time and place of the oath, approximately 8 weeks. (But in the e-mail notification I received today said that I can expect to be scheduled for the oath within 45 days from the approval date).

Since I filed under 3 year rule, he spent some more time to look over proofs: Tax Returns, Lease Agreements, car title, car insurance, health insurance, life insurance and 401K beneficiary, bank statements, electricity bills, Cox bills..... He took all of those copies from me and attached to the file. The total time of the interview was 45'.

So, for who is filing under 3 year rule, be well prepared with copies of proofs.

    Best regards,

    Moon Light

  7. Took oath on 01/30/2015.

Now working through passport SSI and voters registration.

Good luck to all still waiting!

    HI Furiousng,

I have been scraping this forum and its threads for another Oklahoma City filer for naturalization (N400) and i saw you are one of the few...

I am a January, 2015 filer in OKC and cannot wait to be done with this process! Getting impatient here also.

OKC is by far the slowest office in the country hahaha. Can you please share your interview experiences at the office and the oath ceremony as well?

    I would much appreciate it!

p.s Did you file under the 5-year or 3-year rule?

    Thank you very much!!!

  8. I have just received the Interview Letter today (15th Apr). The interview date will be 20th May.

Kash2011 or Jimmy Hou, could you please help to update the list. Thanks.

I think I am the last one of the Taxas lockbox list to get the interview !!! It takes nearly 7 months from the date of N400 filing to the date of interview !

This last stage is the longest one of the whole journey.......

    Moon Light

    Hi there Moon Light,

I have been following your timeline, since we both have the same office - the slowest of all - OKC. Hahahaha

I am a January 2015 filer and have been in line since March 20th. According to your timeline, you got the interview letter 3 and half months after you got in line...

Do you mind sharing your experience after your interview on May 20th? Thank you much, i appreciate it.

Are you filing under the 5 year rule or 3 year rule?

Thank you very much and good luck on your interview!

  9. I notice that people a few days ahead of my noa date had their biometrics appointment set for a few days from now, and I haven't received a letter yet. What do you guys think would happen if I missed my appointment if for some reason I never received the letter? You think I can just show up without a letter?

I dont think you will be allowed to do biometrics without a letter. BUT having said that you can always schedule an infopass appointment with your local office and inquire.

ON ANOTHER NOTE: Do not worry about the slight delay. My biometrics letter was late almost a week!!!!! By late i mean a week after people on this forum with similar/same timeline have gotten theirs. I bet you will get it soon.

  10. I was in exaclty the same boat.We could not make it work, wife decided to file for divorce . If you think there is no way to make it work, no point of making it more complicated.

Everything was done in good fate and everything USCIS-related (like filing/documents etc) was done in the proper way.

Here is me 2 years later and divorced/single and i have applied for citizenship based on the 5-year rule... Honestly use rational and common sense and do everything right.
