  1. Sounds Excellent. I just filed our petition earlier this month. We have 2 trips planned to occupy our time during the approval process (yes I am going to believe that it's just a matter of when and not a matter of if).

The next trip she will be coming here to spend almost 2 weeks in early April, then I have a trip planed for the last week of July/first week of August for around 10 days.

That last trip should be fairly close to our "expected" NOA2 date. We had originally hoped she'd be able to just book a ticket and return with me, but it seems that at the current pace the approvals are moving, we'll likely be a bit behind that schedule. Getting to see each other twice though will help us get through the process easier.

Enjoy your time together, hopefully your the rest of your journey will go well

thank you SO much! I am over the moon :) I really never thought this would be possible. at this point, I'll take ANYTHING :)

  2. You think her family knew she didn't want to have sex with you? seriously? This is why arranged marriages are backwards, you should marry for love, not because your family wants it. You want to file a complaint with immigration because you aren't getting?..again...SERIOUSLY?????? SMH no0pb.gif

I absolutely love following your posts and reply’s! you are so to the point, it's great! we need more of you :)

  3. If you had a full time job where you make $10 / hour, you would make in excess of 125% of the poverty line for a household of 2 and meet the requirements. You don't even need to submit the financial paperwork until the consular interview which won't be for 6-8 months from the time to file, which means if you filed tomorrow you would have 6-8 months to find a job where you make more than $19,400 a year. If you are either unable or unwilling to do that, I am not sure how you can justify considering marriage to anyone, British, American or otherwise. Marriage is about a lifetime commitment to the person you love, but a part of that commitment is financial as well.

    Well said!

  4. My husband and I defied ALL odds!

    Being that:

    • He is 15 years younger
    • I am in my 40's
    • He is hearing
    • I am Deaf
    • He is Sunni Muslim and I am a Jesus Following Muslim
    • He is Algerian Arab
    • He is fierce, protective, and suspicious of EVERYTHING (alhumdillilah)
    • I am calm, easy-going, relaxed, humbled.
    • I am the money-maker
    • He is a college student now
    • I am a career woman... working as a teacher
    • He has zero income (Alhumdillilah)
    • Me Caucasian American
    • We met only 4 months then got married
    • Flew through the process with NO problems other than an intensive grueling interview on his part
    • I'm an American Sign Language Speaker
    • He is a French-Arab speaker

In spite of all these odds, we made it through. I was VERY very meticulous with ALL my applications. I spent 2 months pouring and triple checking for anything amiss. I made my own CHECKLIST and checked it off OFTEN to make sure I did not overlook anything.

Even for some people who were meticulous with their applications get denied. Just pray you have a wise CO! It's just the Path that Allah has chosen for you.

    I wish you good luck.

    E

    WOW! Amazing story :)
