  1. This video is about people who were brought to the US as children by their parents, by no choice of their own. As adults they face all kinds of problems trying to integrate into a country they grew up in and the only place they know as home. These are the people who are eligible to apply for residency because of the Dream Act, I say they deserve a chance, just like everyone else. Just to remind you what the Dream Act is: The Dream Act provides conditional permanent residency to certain illegal aliens of good moral character who graduate from U.S. high schools, arrived in the United States as minors, and lived in the country continuously for at least five years prior to the bill's enactment.

Time and time again I see people on this site complain because their petition may be delayed because of Dream Act applicants. It is disgusting to think that people in this country are so self centered that they can't for one single moment imagine what it would be to in their shoes, faced with deportation because of something they had no control over in the first place, being brought here by their parents as young children. I can bet that the majority of people don't actually know what the Dream Act is. So before you whine about how slow your petition is going, and blame it on the so called 'illegals" that caused your so called delay, watch this video and then tell me the few extra weeks you had to wait was in vain. These people deserve a chance to stay, just like your husband/wife/fiance deserves the chance to be reunited with you.

thank you for posting this, good info for a better understanding.

  2. I responded once, but I'm thinking it did not go through. Here's what I did. I made the necessary income to sponsor someone. I got my w-2's, letter from employer, pay stubs, etc. I was pretty vague with my stocks, bonds, money markets and 401-k's I just listed what they asked for and a vague amount. I think if you don't meet the financial criteria, it more important to make sure you have all this other supporting info to "boost" your assets/income

Also, letter would be ok, but it's not primary evidence. Do you have any type if agreement drawn up, or do you have on going proof of your draws?

  3. Have you spoken to tier2 rep? In my expierence, some case numbers are added 2 days after NOA1, some 200 days. Bottom line is, the USCIS site is basically useless. If a tier 2 says they have it, they have it. I went through the same thing, 4 months after NOA1 my case was finally added to the system.

Another example, Gary&Alla- regular poster here... I believe she's going through naturalization, her 129-f states "pending" 4 years later. So, there is no rhyme or reason, USCIS is like no other! Good luck and god speed!

  4. Excellent! Congrats and good luck with the rest of the journey! We are October filers, so sadly we have a long way to go...I think I'll be visiting Joan in the Philippines in June instead of picking her up at the airport =(

Hey now...dont get your self down! October filers will be up before you know it :)

LOTS of Mid-September filers are going through now - Chin UP!

    i'm an october filer too!

  5. The iPhone is quad-band, so is capable of working anywhere. However, U.S. models are carrier-locked and wont recognize another carrier's sim card. A simple jailbreak will not unlock the iPhone. I got mine unlocked by the carrier, which they will do as long as the phone is no longer under contract. Now my Globe sim works fine after I cut it own to microsim size.

Awesome, but you totally made my head spin with all that..LOL

  6. Nine years ago today I met my husband on St. Patrick's Day. I guess we could say it was our lucky day!

I had time before my friends could meet to go out for St. Patrick's Day so I went online into a yahoo movie chat room. That's where we talked for the first time and saw each other on webcam. I was wearing green lipstick and green clothes. He was wearing a white button up shirt and I remember the day was so bright there while it was night time where I was.

It just started out as casual acquaintances with a mutual interest in films, and then we became friends for a couple of years before it grew into something more. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I'd be married to an Arab Muslim from Egypt that I met over the internet but here we are nine years later and still going.

This is a really special anniversary for us because it was the start of it all. He brought it up to me so we recently looked back at our old photo albums together and said we look so young to ourselves now. My God we were both just 25 years old when we first met! Both so young, healthy, attractive and full of potential. You don't realize what you have until later. Hindsight is 20/20.

Then we talked about what happened each year that passed since we first met and recalled all the things we went through to be together. We realized we're finally coming up on having more years being physically together than when we were apart. Some of those years apart were so dark and difficult, but now life is a lot sweeter the three years after he's been in the States with me and it feels like it's only going to get better from here. I know some of our best years together are yet to come!

Think about that when you feel down about everything. Some of the happiest years of your life together hasn't happened yet, but it will. It's waiting for you both and there is so much more to look forward to.

    Best post ever (L)(L)(L)

  7. website is useless as a time frame. it's just about waiting. It SUCKS! good thing is.... I have been seeing September filers going through! I'm an october filer! Good Luck!!

Based on your timeline, you may have a bit to go.

  8. get a RAZA.com account - he can dial a local number and connect directly with her. I swear by RAZA, did alot of research on fees and such, this was the best bet. $10.00 gets me about 90 minutes to call Abu Dhabi, when thats gone, it just takes the money out of my account and gives me more minutes!
