  1. So just curious, if you've done your POE in Dublin and then say you had a layover in Chicago before your final destination how do you get through Border Control in Chicago? Or do you just enter the airport directly from Dublin like you would if you were flying domestic in the US?

  2. Got a response from the Knightsbridge Doctors, which just clarifies what you guys have advised ....

    Good morning Melanie,

You will need to have a report from your GP or specialist explain why the procedure is taken place and a prognosis for the future as this will need to go into the medical report.

    Kind regards,

    Kerri Cooper

  3. Anytime you reveal a medical condition on the questionnaire, the doctors at Knightsbridge will want further information from your personal doctors explaining the condition/disease/surgery/medication... whatever is the case. If you take it in with you, you may not have to wait on it after before they will release your results to the embassy.

Candy, my fiance, just had a successful medical exam in the Philippines. She is presently on medication for high blood pressure. When the panel doctor asked her about any medical conditions, Candy told her about this and was ready with the name of the doctor who is treating her, the name of the medication she is on, and her own blood pressure readings (she had to get a home monitor and check it every day). The panel doctor then checked it herself and told her to keep up with her doctor's advice as it appears to be working well. That was the end of it.

A medical conditon that is not contagious will not hurt you but failing to tell the panel doctor all about it just might.

When I got my GP to write a letter for me for my DVT and thrombophilia, he kindly included copies of correspondence from a few different consultants at the hospital I was treated in. My letter from the GP is dated Jan 2014 though, so I won't be surprised if Knightsbridge want something more recent from him.

Thank you, so basically I just need to get myself prepared with information to take with me. Was just worried that this might affect my medical.

  4. I have a question ... I have been told today that I need surgery to correct a kidney problem, the investigations have been going on for some months now and finally they have told me the only way to sort it is with surgery which should happen in the next couple of months, however, we are nearing the point of Case Complete with NVC and so the next thing would be scheduling the medical once we have an interview date, does anyone know how this is likely to affect my medical? Will have I have to take some sort of paperwork with me to show that the problem is/has been corrected?

  5. Well, we woke up this morning to an email from USCIS, saying we are.....APPROVED!!!! FINALLY! bdrew, our NOA2 date is 4/17. :) Good luck to everyone else here waiting, especially those who were waiting there with us at the Nebraska Service Center. I know all of you have an approval coming soon!!!

    Congrats :D

So, looks like the representative wasn't lying. I got a message that looks terrifying-ish, but with proper foreknowledge of the situation isn't so concerning (see attached image).

I guess I'll have to wait for further instructions.

Oh yeah I saw that message too

Sorry for the late update my case was approved on 14th April :dancing: ..gonna add timeline now

    Congrats :D
  6. She said that it would "say" that it was terminated. Essentially, she was trying to prevent me from getting freaked out, even though she was explaining there would be nothing to worry about. I came away understanding that she wasn't going to give me the number. It seems I just have to keep trying until I get an amenable representative.

I'm back on hold now to try my luck again.

Ah ok, gotcha! Well I put our numbers into the portal and it didn't say anything like that. Good luck with getting hold of them again

  7. So, I just called the NVC again to see if I could get my Invoice ID, and I was told that it wouldn't do me any good to have it until they emailed it to me. The woman I spoke with said that if I tried to use the Invoice ID now, the system would say that my application was being terminated, which would cause unnecessary panic because it wouldn't actually be in a termination state.

I tried to gently have her reflect that perhaps there might be some good for me to have it "just in case", but she stuck to her line that there was nothing I could do with it until the official instructions were sent out.

Hmmmm, so why would our agent have just given both over with no trouble, methinks you need to call back and hopefully get a different agent. And what the heck, why would your application be terminated by entering you IID?!!!!

  8. Just called the NVC to see if they had a case number for me. Spent about 30 minutes on hold. They just entered my case into the system. Got my case number and was told to wait for an email with instructions in the next few weeks!

Yay, did they give you an IIN too?

I just wanted to let anyone still waiting know (I guess this is directed at anyone at the VSC mostly) that I was approved 4/11. My PD is 10/1 (so I thought this might be relevant since I'm so close to September. Anyway, my case status online has never changed from initial review and I received no emails. However yesterday I received the hard copy of the approval saying I was approved on 4/11. So maybe some people are really approved and just don't know it yet. I received the letter 5 days after I was approved and I live only about 3 hours from the VSC center.

    Congrats :D

So after calling USCIS today b4 going to my info pass appt 2mrw I decided to call them first and the tier 2 sup advised they sent us an RFE notice yesterday. Of course case status hasn't been updated online but that was a relief at least our case has been acknowledged. Even funnier I think I may know exactly what the RFE is about. When we sent the initial packet they returned more than half of our evidence with a letter stating "the attached document(s) are a format we cannot place in your file folder for review by an officer during the adjudication process" mind you this was returned within a week of receiving the NOA1. So..... At this point, I'm willing to bet that's what the RFE is all about requesting the same dang evidence we initially sent :/

Miss Drew: you may do the honors of updating the sheet <RFE 04/16>

Hope the RFE is something simple :)
