End of the road for me....received notice of approval for I485.

interviewed last week but IO was not 100/ sure due to changes in procedures in her office.

journey started Sept 2012.

Vawa approved August 2013 (after refer. for emotional abuse )

Sandra helped a lot with redrafting affidavit....psych drafted a great report for emotional case)

Transfr in October 2013 ( local office and back and local office again. ) Did 2 infopasses, always same answer : busy working on lots of files.

Notice for new fingerprints July 8th 2014

Interview letter for date of August 19th.

Interview : asked for medical ( had not sent one with application ), new pictures, passport ( asked if I have travelled recently ..negative I said) ....asked 6 Yes or No questions . .Asked if still married ...yes I said , no money for divorce yet.

We had a misunderstanding about the financial affidavit. My notice said not to worry because of vawa status but her supervisor insisted on one being filed. which she was kind enough to print and help me fill out.

Very friendly woman. She apologized for not giving me an approval on the spot but said she was 99% sure I would get it, just wanted to check with supervisor if anything else was needed.

My aos interview was today and it went great I was told to expect my green card within 2-3 weeks. Feeling highly bless and thank full. On cloud 9. Free at last, thank god I'm free at last.

Wondering if we can use PO BOX address in VAWA application?

Is there anybody used PO BOX address for mails from USCIS? Any problem with that?

I have been using a p.o.box since I filed and never had a problem. Make sure you renew your p.o. box when time is up for it

Someone I was trying to understand your timeline. You said you received a RFE in June, started therapy in July and sent RFE back in August. I thought they give you only 1 months to send RFE back. And my other question is can you start a therapy when they are asking you in RFE? Because I was thinking you need to provide them evidence from the time before you send I-360.

You read right. ......I started therapy after the RFE. On the paper it was stated that I had 84 days to send the RFE back , so almost 3 months I would say. They wanted more proofs. My case was mainly mental abuse and extreme cruelty.

I found an extremely kind psychologist who gave me sessions and drafted a great report .I was right away put on medication ( still am actually) after being diagnosed with anxiety and major depression... I had Sandra review the report before sending it back to Vermont.

So I will say , yes you can start after I guess , because that is exactly what I did.

started therapy July 24 2013 ( I am the one the psychologist was seeing for free )

Approved September 12 2013......

I went to my i485 interview today and I got approved!!!!! I was told ny GC will get in the mail in about 10 days. I am so happy this journey is finally over for me:) to all of you guys who got approved, congratulations and to those who have not been yet, hang in there. God got control over everything. Please have faith. Good things happen to those who patiently and diligently wait. I love you guys! Thank you all for the help you guys provided me with. Now the frustation is taking over. I been waiting for 1 week and half for that letter that Ombudsman’s Office said that was send to me by VSC with a decision on my case and so far nothing. I think if they had issued anything it would be here by now, 10 days is more than enought for a letter to come in from VSC to Miami. So i decided to call the VSC as Ombudsman’s Office told me in the email to do if i havent received the letter.

So when I spoke with someone today they told me that they cannot release no information about my case because its a sensitive application BUT he would answer any general question I have. So the only question I need to ask is if they mail anything to me and when... so his answer was , NO we have not mailed you anything and the case is pending with a adjucator.......

I m done with this. Just can't torture myself anymore I have to say that I m about to send a letter cancelling my VAWA and just accept that my life will be like this forever and I will have to follow my wife rules , be abused , probrably get HIV and all others that have out there from her because she uses me for sex when she is high on drugs and dont want me to protect myself, and be whatever she want me to be. Thats the only way I m going to be able to stay around my baby girl and protect her from my wife. I cant think of anything else to do at this moment. It look like they lost my case and everytime i or someone enquire on it , they check and cant find it ont he shelfs or with a adjucator they just find a stupid answer to give. I m almost 9 months over the processing time showing at USCSI website.

Hello everyone.

I been off the forum for a while. Just want to drop by and say hi to everyone . My case still the same almost 20 months and nothing.

I just called the customer service to see if they can give me an update on my change of address that was sent a request in writing ,notorized and certified mail requesting to change the address and remove my attorney from file because i no longer have her representing me. But nothing no answer and the custumer service laid said that she cant do anything for me because no case comes up with my receipt number. I also sent them a letter 3 weeks asking to renew my prima facie and asking them to please adjucate my case because i need it badly. And no answer neather, i ask for help from Ombudsman's office more than a month ago and they said that they enquired on my case and will let me know when they receive a response,but no answer ...... Now my prima facie is EXPIRED and i cant get a response from VERMONT , i already asked for help in the last 7 months from 2 senators, 2 congress representative and my attorney also called when she was still on my case ,and they all come with the same answer USCIS TOLD ME THAT YOUR CASE IS BEEN ADJUCATED BY AN OFFICE AT THIS MOMENT AND THEY SHOULD MAKE A DECISON VERY SOON. That was 7 months ago. And my case dont show up online neither , when i input my case number at the uscis website case status it come back saying YOUR CASE CANNOT BE FOUJD AT THIS TIME. Anyone have any sujestion?

Sandra. What do you think? Keep waiting or its time to make some noice. The problem that i am so weak that i dont even have the strech to make any noise PLEASE HELP with any sugestion that could help me.

"case not found " is a good sign. They are actually working on your case and you should get an update really soon !

cielo14 we have here in the visa journey some people married to an LPR and they got work permit. The work permit may take a few weeks to be approved (2/3weeks).

The Uscis memorandum states what hypnos explained very well.

Vawa2013, one incident of abuse is enough but you need to explain in detail the abuse,circumstances that lead to abuse,if you reported the case,if not why,how you felt. You should tell like a story. Try and read murid2010 case on Vawa part 1 and 2. She has only one incident of abuse, she call the authorities. She was married for only a month when incident happen. VSC ask her to rewrite abuse with more explanation. Funny thing is she get approval after 6months. Just make sure you explained very well so you can avoid RFE.
