  1. Here's the information regarding the medical and lab tests: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/colombia/231771/PDFs/MedicalInstructions4-2014.pdf

I would also call the doctor's office of your choice to find out how much they charge for vaccines which should be TD, MMR, varicella and influenza. You can also call your local Red Cross office or EPS (health insurance) to find out how much it would cost to get them there to see if it will be cheaper than getting them at the doctor's office. Some times the prices are the same, sometimes you can save a ton of money getting them somewhere else.

As of 09/12 the AOS fee will be $120, in your case you only have to pay this once since that fee should cover both children, and the IV fee bill fee which is $325, this is per child because they're getting individual visas.

Thank you. it's amazing how much this cost. im looking at just $900 for medical for both plus air fair plus the fees at the ebassy. . over $2000 just amazing. I will call my wife tomorrow since she is there with the children and look into redcross also I will call few more doctors in bogota.

  2. Hello I just got off phone with wife and she contacted Bogota today for my step children age 11 and 17 doctor told wife cost for exam and vaccinations will cost $450 each child!! Seems very high. Also can you tell me what other fees are involved. I did not pay anything at the Nvc level. Case was expedited so I need to pay directly at embassy Bogota. Appointment is sept 26. Also I here prices are going up as of sept 12. Any help thank you

  3. If it is complicated, then you just answered your own question why you may not be getting a lot of answers. The majority of people here are NOT immigration lawyers, they are petitioner's and beneficiary's just trying to make their way to the U.S. Therefore, if your situation is difficult to explain or understand, you may not get an answer due to people RESPECTING you enough not to give you poor advice.

And if you justify the fact that "I helped people 2 years ago, now no one is helping me" then you should call your help a loan, because demanding something in return for your generosity kind of takes the merit out of it, don't you think? Anyway, if you helped people 2 years ago, it would be logical to think that most of those people have gotten approvals/denials on their cases and have moved forward with their lives, except the few who enjoy staying on these forums and helping others.

I do apologize but it gets so frustrating at times. I really wish everyone good fortune and any help I can do please just ask.
  4. Then you just need to contact the US Embassy in Bogotá to find out if they received your case and when they will schedule the appointment. Don't forget to write your BGT# on your email so they know who you are talking about.

Hi I contacted Bogota they have not received yet. I contacted Nvc and they said they sent out on the second of sept. How long does this normally take to arrive at embassy. If I check status it states ready for interview.
  5. No help needed this is a good thing! All that means is that NVC has mailed your case on to the consulate - that's it. Your embassy case number should be in that letter. Check it on ceac and you can see where your stuff is (whether it's in transit, at the embassy, etc.).

Hi. I checked my status and says ready for interview. I emailed Bogota and they said they have not received yet. I then contacted Nvc and they said they sent out on the 2nd sept. I hope I will here a date soon
  6. Hello I was told This past Thursday that my expidite request was approved threw nvc for my step children, I was wondering by someone that has gone threw this what is next? Does the embasy in Colombia send me a date for appointment and how do I set an appointment for my step children for the doctor exam? By what I read on other forums this can take days our weeks for appointment I don't know what to expect. Any help would be helpful also this is for a I30 filed, And reson for expidite has to do with family emergency and other problems. Thank you.

  7. I just received a text last night stating that our I-130 was approved on 18 July and that a letter was to be mailed to me with further instructions. This was only 3 days after our I-130 file was transferred from the Nebraska Service Center to California's. Our file sat at the Nebraska Service Center for close to 5 months with nothing happening and was eventually transferred to California Service Center where it seems like the process was expedited.

I assume the next step will be for our files to go to NVC for final processing? As Guioyugo posted in his inquiry...my wife and I will also be waiting for the paperwork to go to the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia for the interview and visa processing.

I know the timelines are hypothetically based off several issues at the NVC processing center, but how long should one anticipate waiting before instructions are received about the medical appointments and interview at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota?

    Thank you for your help!

  8. Still haven't really gotten an answer. I checked my old timeline and looks as thow from start to finish from Ucis to Nvc took about 3 months from start to appointment. Just wondering if its still the same from a year ago

How in the world do you get them to generate the IV bill ?

iv bill gets generated after you receive your new case number roughly 2 weeks
