    O got his social security number paperwork done today! Number will be generated in 48 hours! Woohoo! And.... We got the marriage license!!! Excited!

    I would like to get some help in contacting a Senator in NY about a denied IR1. The couple has been married for 6 years and were denied based on 221g. They asked me for help and I'm clueless. While reading a topic, I noticed you posted about being denied a K1, a CR1, and then contacted your senator and your husband was able to get the visa.     Wedding Planning Mode... I'm usually a relaxed person, but this planning is driving me crazy! Now that I have to pay for everything and plan a wedding for June. All the venues seem to be taken :(

    Everything that happens has a reason... Don't be discouraged if your journey is taking long. Mine took 8 months and it was perfect for us! O's contract is ending in May, giving us plenty of time to plan his move to the US. Good luck in your journey! :)

    Just read this on the Immigrant Fee (www.uscis.gov/ImmigrantFee): Children who enter the United States under either the Orphan or Hague adoption programs, Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants, returning residents (SB-1s), and those issued K visas are the only immigrant visa cases exempt from paying the new fee.

    Made the civil surgeon appointment today (although still overseas) for May 9! Receptionist said the most we'll pay is $100--but the Dr might only charge $50 if all his shots are up-to-date!
