  1. Well, I plan to leave New Delhi on the 8th October for London. Will stay in London till the 29th (have to go to a Pendragon gig on the 28th) and then off to the USA... I am having a farewell party for my friends on the 23rd... I believe my parents want to have me hang out with the relatives too... but that is something I find distinctly repugnant to deal with the whole battallion en masse

We are thinking of a November wedding at the registry office... seems like things are moving eh?

  2. Well tomorrow morning I am off to the VFS to collect my passport with the visa stamped on it... I will leave India some time in October... spend a few weeks back home before making my way to Houston in November... but it still has not hit me... I guess it will only do that when I am in Houston and can launch myself into the arms of my Gypsy :luv::wub:

  3. Mary, my dear friend and support... I have known you and Tom from way back... known Tom even longer than I have known you... I can only say that I am glad this nightmare has finally come to an end and that you can be together now... lots of love and hugs to you... and I will meet you once I get to London en route to Houston.

  4. Not intentionally. I didnt dig it from the grave

I have no idea what he's talking about. Not only on a different page, he's on a different book in a completely different library.

In double dutch at that!!! I have not the foggiest what he means and am glad to know I am not the only one

  5. It still has not hit me... I guess it will once I get my grubby paws on my passport

But I really do believe that VFS will not tangle with me... nor even attempt to... I do believe that very few have treated them as dismissively as I have done. It enraged me to see them play power games with an old woman... which is why I probably was as cutting as I was with them...:lol::lol: I loved telling them they are just a collection point... a forwarding service... a post office for some Embassies... that they hold no power to grant or deny a visa so to stop acting as if they do :lol::lol:

I also think the reason they were falling over themselves to try and sort things out for me is coz I am a British National... and that their business could be affected were the High Comission to become aware of their modus operandi... what they don't realise is that the British High Commission is going to be informed regardless - for I find it truly appalling that such people could be representing my country.

  6. I had no option but to submit to the VFS... I had my interview back in June - but all's well that end's well... the Consulate had my passport and it seems they have approved my visa too.

I did have the greatest pleasure of telling the VFS that they were nothing more than a collection point... and had nothing to do with actually processing the visa. The supervisor agreed with me, albeit reluctantly. :innocent:

  7. Well, I have been through major stress since last night - as the SMS service of the VFS informed me that they have no records of my passport in their system. I called the VFS this morning and demanded to know where my passport is. Curiously they had information pertaining to my visit to the VFS in May last year; but they seemed to have no clue where my passport was this time... I submitted all the required documents on Friday and dealt with a stroppy cow who was trying to intimidate me (unsuccessfully I must add)... anyway I told the supervisor at the VFS that if they did not locate my passport pronto I would inform the British High Commission that my passport has gone missing from their office... they finally traced the passport at the American Consulate... and it seems that the visa has been approved and I will have my passport back by early next week with the visa stamped on it... what a relief!!!

I will not be leaving for the USA immediately as I need to wait for the flashes in my right eye (due to a posterior vitreous humour detachment) to subside. Once I feel better then and then only will I make my way to the arms of my Gypsy (L)

  8. The worst atrocities are perpetrated in the name of god. Whether it be allah the merciful or jesus son of god or ram or krishan or any of the sikh gurus... all acts of terror committed in the name of a god are acts that are morally justified; they consider such atrocities as being pleasing to that god they follow... proves what I have believed for a long time now... god fosters hate... god condones the destruction and genocide of those who do not follow him/her... there are many religions... if there is a god... whose god is the right god... and how do you know that?

  9. Well, I submitted my papers on Friday to the VFS. Currently they are not able to tell me where my passport is; what documents they sent to the Consulate or even if they sent the documents to the Consulate. If I do not hear from them within the next 3 hours, I will be contacting the British High Comission about this matter. I am now seriously concerned, for I feel that the woman I dealt with on Friday may have purposely misplaced my passport and documents due to the fact that I did not allow her to intimidate me.

  10. Congratulations to you

    CHristina

The same thing happened to me... I sent them the completed forms by Speed Post which is a recorded delivery. Despite the fact that it was delivered, they seemed to have lost my forms; so I had to fill them agaim and hand them in personally.

  11. New Delhi is different -- if you send them an email with a subject line other than "Request for Specific Information" and you will get a standard "out of office" response stating that all informatin is available on the website and that if you need specific information, then send them an email with the subject line" Rquest for Specific Information".

    KP

I always place the NVC case no. as the subject when writing to the Embassy.

I have always got a response from them.
